Missy took the drink and thanked her. "Oh, well, we're not really friends. At least I don't think so," she explained to Rosen.
"He doesn't strike me as a guy who would have many." Rosen noted as he took a sip.
"He doesn't," Missy agreed before taking a sip. "Dirt, you have the best of everything here," she noted.
Rosen snorted as he took another sip, "James has all the money in the world." he explained, "He wouldn't settle for second best."
"Having money is one thing," Missy argued. "But knowing what to spend it on is another."
Rosen nodded, "He has... a good ear for detail." then he chuckled to himself at some inside joke.
"Sounds like my kind of guy," Missy chuckled.
Rosen raised an eyebrow at Missy, "Hmm?" he chuckled, "He's too much for any one girl to handle. No offense." he replied before finishing off his drink and readjusting himself in the water.
Missy frowned. "He's high-maintenance? Dirt..." She sighed, but dropped it and kept working on her drink.
"Extremely." Rosen mused with a small, knowing smirk, "Why? You looking for a lover?"
Missy choked on her drink a little and went into a small coughing fit as her face turned redder.
Rosen laughed a little at that, "Sorry, occupation." he said, pointing at himself, "Didn't mean to startle you."
"No, it's alright," Missy replied when she had her voice back. "I... well, I just don't really get out much..." She took another drink.
"Ah." Rosen replied, that explained a lot. "I don't either actually... or not as much as you'd think." he shrugged, "I prefer playing games."
"My occupation sucks up most of my day typically." She shrugged and finished off her drink.
"Mine sucks up the night." Rosen replied before frowning a little. "So, why did that Nic guy bring you here exactly? You two seem too good together. Are you related or something?"
She didn't ask. "Surprisingly, no," Missy replied. "It's some cruel twist of fate. Or at least, I'm pretty sure... Together we can achieve the 'impossible.' It's too bad he's psychotic."
Rosen nodded, "I guess he only shows his emotions around Laurel." he noted, "I... have to admit... in all my years of being a companion, they are the oddest couple I've met in terms of mentality. I don't think they could be any more different." he shook his head a little before relaxing as the jet found another knot.
Missy was quiet for a long moment. Then she asked, "Why are you so tense?"
Rosen sighed a little, eyeing Missy for a moment, "One of my brothers was almost killed before I was sent here." he replied, "I'd much rather be there helping Wolfe than partying here. Wolfe can be reckless when he's worried about his family..."
Missy slowly frowned. "... Will he be alright?" she asked quietly.
"Kale should be fine, he's strong. It's Wolfe I'm a bit worried about. He takes things really hard." Rosen replied as he stared at the water in front of him, "But, there's nothing I can do except protect Frei for now. Protect her and wait."
Missy glanced over her shoulder to watch Raven and Frei go down the water slide. Again. ".. She's not a neonate?" she guessed.
Rosen shook her head, "She's a destin." he explained as he glanced over at Frei.
"Destin?" Missy inquired.
"Means fate." Rosen replied evenly, "Ironic though. She's the only one left of that kind. I guess the others were 'fated' to die?" He suddenly shook his hair out a little, pulling his mind from the heavy thoughts, and yawned.
Missy looked like she wanted to ask more, but refrained. For now. "... How long do these parties usually last?"
"All night?" Rosen replied, "I dunknow, I'm never here that long." he said, standing and stretching his perfect body a little bit.
Missy nodded a little, not asking any more.
"You're welcome to play games with me if you get bored of this perfect house." he informed her as he stepped out of the Jacuzzi and grabbed a towel.
"... Thanks," Missy replied. It looked like she planned on sitting around a little longer.
Rosen shrugged and left. Just as he walked away, Laurel toppled into the Jacuzzi, head first.
Missy cussed a little before making sure her head got above the water.
Laurel surfaced, coughing up water before giggling and glancing at Missy with glossy eyes.
"You're stone drunk," she observed. "This jacuzzi isn't the place for you."
And without much warning at all, Laurel kissed her.
Missy quickly pushed Laurel away and wiped off her mouth. "Sorry, but I'm not interested," she replied.
Laurel giggled a little, "I think I like men better." she said with surprising clarity before dissolving into another fit of giggles.
"Me too," Missy agreed before trying to get Laurel out of the hot tub.
Laurel was too full of giggles to stand up straight. She kept collapsing back into the Jacuzzi. "Has he... scared you?" Laurel suddenly asked Missy with a smile but there was a bit of seriousness behind those glossy eyes.
