Long paused a while before replying accentless, "English is my second language."
Rosen rolled his eyes a little, "Wadever," he replied, "Ead the cake." He uncovered the tray and carried the tray over to Long. On it were different kinds of cakes that he'd probably ordered from an island. Dark chocolate cakes with raspberry filling, coconut filling and ice cream filling, an angel food cake, carrot cake, coffee cake, pound cake and a red velvet cake. He immediately plopped in front of Long and started chowing down on all the cakes except the dark chocolate with coconut filling.
Long stared at the cake blankly. He didn't say anything or move to try any of them for a while, lost in thought.
Rosen eventually held out a giant spoon to him, identical to the one he was using to shovel cake into his mouth. He seemed confused by Long's lack of eating.
Long paused before taking the spoon. He looked at it awhile before slowly taking a small bite of the cake Rosen had left untouched. He didn't seem interested in 'chowing down' on it or any of the other cakes though.
Rosen didn't seem to mind, eating away at the cakes himself. Finally, though, he paused, "You dun like cake?"
"It's alright," Long replied after a moment.
Rosen paused before taking out a tablet. He crossed something out. "Ith's okay," he told Long, "We'll twy pie."
It wasn't clear if Long had understood Rosen or not.
Rosen paused before holding up his tablet, on it was a picture of pie.
Long blinked at the tablet, his opinion of pie not clear.
Rosen put the tablet down and continued to eat the cake.
Long sat quietly while Rosen ate.
Rosen looked at Long after a moment, "Not hungwy?"
Long shook his head.
"Dun eat muth do ya?" Rosen muttered.
