Fin swallowed a little, slowly taking the wheel.
-- "There's no reason for him to do so," Missy replied. |
With the power steering, it really wasn't that hard to keep the ship in a straight line.
-- Rosen glanced at Missy and raised an eyebrow, "You really wanna leave?" he inquired. |
Fin was still a little stressed, but he did alright.
-- Missy shrugged. |
"Seriously?" Rosen asked, looking hurt, "You have some place better to be or somethin'?"
"Don't be offended," Missy replied. "I don't usually spend so long in one place."
"That's a sad life," he told her seriously.
"Sitting on your butt all day every day playing video games is also a sad life," she noted.
Rosen chuckled, "At least I'm with people who are my friends and who I consider my family," he retorted, "And I don't sit on my butt every day."
"I don't have any family," she replied, "and you pretty much do."
"Well I technically don't either. Never did. But I made my friends close enough to be my family. If you keep running away you'll never have that." Then he stuck out his tongue, "And how do you know? You've never seen me work. When I'm on call, I work harder than the rest of them so I relax the rest of the time," he leaned back for emphasis.
"Who says I want a family?" Missy asked, and rolled her eyes at Rosen's comment about work.
Rosen stared at her for a moment, "'Cause you don't strike me as a loner like Nic."
"Just 'cause I don't have family doesn't make me a loner. I have plenty of friends," Missy replied.
Rosen shrugged, "Well, whatever you want," he replied dismissively, "Just be ready to deal with Wolfe if you want to leave. But for now, help me find a game."
"You're the one that's getting distracted," Missy noted as she kept looking through games.
Rosen scrunched his nose a little.
-- Frei handled the landing as they stopped on a little, rather cute island. She unstrapped herself and looked at Fin. |
