Tsaerri's sudden dash surprises him, and he bolts out the door after her, just fast enough to catch the fluttering end of her skirt and one purple boot heel before she disappears on the rooftop. |
Taking the traditional way down, Syrgei lands in the yard next to Tsaerri with a light ‘oof,’ and smooths his coat down. He suppresses his amusement at her pouting. She probably wouldn’t take that well. |
He looks at the phantom sword, turning it a few times in his hand but still somewhat reluctant to really test it, even though Tsaerri had whacked him on the head a few times already. “Personally, I think that’s a sound tactic if you can do it without the invisible part. I generally avoid face-to-face fighting myself.” |
Syrgei nods, holding his sword slightly upright again, but this time he comes in low, sword poised for a strong thrust. |
Syrgei drops his sword, having to put all his focus into redirecting his momentum so he doesn’t skewer himself on Tsaerri’s sword. Already low to the ground he’s forced to go over, and leaps overhead, swiping out with an empty hand at Tsaerri’s midsection. |
Landing on his feet but slightly off balance, he catches himself. "I did say that face-to-face fighting is not my preference, and neither is a sword. What do you want me to do?" |
Alright. |
"I wouldn't say no, but handicapping yourself is the point, isn't it?" |
Surprised, Syrgei jumps up as well, though in the other direction and away from Tsaerri. His hands are up, and empty, "Hey, just talking. You asked...and you aren't going to listen to me, are you?" |
It was hard not to wake up from the commotion of the two leaving for, apparently, a fight. Of course, by the time Gambooge had finished rubbing his eyes and getting the kink out of his back, the pair were already long gone. "Huh..." Shaking his head and picking himself up out of his chair for the night, he made his way to the door and peered outside.
Bag, it seemed, was long gone. "Great," he muttered, running a hand back through his hair. He shifted his weight, looked along either side of the road, then sighed. Back to the chair it was. |
"I'm surprised you didn't get big boy to buy something for you while you were out." Though his words didn't have as much of a bite as they should have considering his glower, that didn't keep him from sighing as he stood. "What've you two been up to, out in the big, scary world all morning?"
"Ah. Nothing I'd be interested in then, not with a sigh like that. I'm guessing he found something more important to do with his time?"
He frowned and leaned just slightly away from the woman. "I don't know. Are you gonna keep up with all of—" He waved a hand. "—that if I say no?"
After confirming Tsaerri has returned to her home, Syrgei keeps walking until he reaches the inn in Salma district, where he finds Petra already up. |
His frown still set on his face, he glanced down at the offending boot, then back up to her face. "I see that. I also see that you're a terrible, manipulative woman whose breakfast preferences I'm unfamiliar with."
“So how did you end up meeting her?” |
No sooner had she turned her back to him that Gambooge gave a spectacular roll of his eyes. Of course, when she saw fit to look at him once more, he'd already wiped the expression from his face. "Oh, is that all?" he asked, even as he turned to the cupboards to check if she really did have everything ready for the cooking. "You don't ask for much, do you? As your good, dear friend, I'd be a fool to say no."
Busy repeating one of the few batter recipes he knew in his head, he didn't expect Tsae to sit around and engage him in conversation more than she already had. It made him pause, just long enough to glance back at her before he put his hands back to work. "Probably not like you've got in mind. I like to be around people. But, there are some cozy places in the Shiverpeaks, if you don't mind the cold."
"TSAE! PUT THE GUN DOWN!" |
The sudden excitement in her voice was more than enough for Gambooge to stop what he was doing to watch her dart out of the room. It was... actually pretty impressive seeing how fast she had the cloth strung up. He could see where she was going even before she said she was going to shoot in his direction.
And yet, the suddenly appeared Syrgei was the only one concerned with the situation. Gamby looked over at him, specks of stone and dust hovering around his raised hand. "Oh, you back for breakfast?" |
Anything Syrgei was going to say is cut off by the gunshot. Still paused in the doorway, Syrgie's eyes are focused on Gambooge, expecting any sign that her blind bullet had hit him. |
