Liethell 12-17-2013 10:33 AM

"Hope I never did what, have sex? A virgin prostitute? Boy do I have news for you." He giggles and snickers, "I've gotten my do on so many times that the girls at the playboy mansion look like nuns compared to me." He lets his giggles die down, but it takes a moment. At first, it almost seems like he didn't hear Vincent's last comment.
"Hey man," He finally responds, "I'm projected to live long enough to see the evacuation of the human race from this planet, if we don't all nuke ourselves to death first. You've got to have a bit of humor, or life gets boring awfully quick."

Yokuutsu 12-17-2013 01:37 PM

Vincent's brain was, apparently off on a tangent when he said that one earlier. Or he wasn't thinking about an alternative meaning. His brain is fun like that. He blushes as Liet keeps on talking. He shakes His head a bit, not wanting to think about that one. "I find like is...boring either way." Of course, with him isolating himself and running, that makes a lot of sense for him. Of course, he doesn't think about whether life is boring or not too often.

Liethell 12-17-2013 02:21 PM

"Well it won't stay boring for long." He grins and rubs his shoulder, "The car ride there might be though. It's a few hours' drive, so I can't blame you if you nod off, but when we get there, you're gonna love it."

Yokuutsu 12-17-2013 02:38 PM

Is it bad that a part of Vincent wants his life to stay boring? He's used to the boring. He can easily deal with the boring....though it is mind-numbing...it isn't all good. "What's this place like?" He can't help but ask. Liet's tastes and his might be a bit different so he has to ask.

Liethell 12-17-2013 02:55 PM

"Well, it's kind of freaky, but pretty cool." He smiles, "It's kind of stereotypical, but you have to navigate the sewage system a bit before you get there. Then, you climb some ways down and there's a kind of city under a city. The court of miracles, I've heard it called. Some people call it Hell. A lot of people just call it home." He shrugs, "But we don't have a name. It's a real safe haven there, you can use magic freely."

Yokuutsu 12-17-2013 03:20 PM

Vincent tilts his head a bit as Liet talks, lifting an eyebrow a bit. "Sewage system?" That's unsanitary to say the least....and he can't help but think of Futurama a bit. Even if a person doesn't have a home, they can't fully escape media even if they wanted to. "Why is it called that?" A court of miracles? That's a little bit too cheesy for him really.

Liethell 12-17-2013 03:59 PM

"Nobody ever checks the seweage system." He nods, "It's such a cliche that nobody would think to seriously look for a city there. Not to mention it takes some magic to open the door there anyways, so you couldn't get in there by accident. And court of miracles is kinda cheesey, but it's an old reference. I think it comes from french slang, and it means the ghetto or something. And lemme tell you, it sure does look like a ghetto." He snorts a little at the thought. "Anyway, it's not too big, it's mostly self sustaining because of the magic users down there..." He shrugs, but he's smiling, as if it's a fond memory. "You don't have to stay there if you don't like. We could get you settled above ground. Most people prefer being above ground anyways. Less of a stink, but you have to keep secret about what you do. We're just going underground to meet with a friend." He speaks the last word with his jaw clenched very slightly.

Yokuutsu 12-17-2013 04:13 PM

Vincent nods a bit. "I can't really blame them." He says...he probably wouldn't check either to tell the truth. "What magic?" He just wonders how the door opens and everything. His curiousity doesn't die, it just takes a brea now and again. He looks a bit confused about the French slang bit, but it isn't that important or anything. He nods a bit again as he listens to Liet. "Ah....can't blame them too much if they can't get used to the smell and all." He doesn't know if he'd be able to deal with it for long. "...why do I have this feeling that this friend isn't much of a friend?" He may be oblivious about certain things, but he can notice that much at least.

Liethell 12-17-2013 04:59 PM

"It used to be that the door responded to earth magic. I think they changed the door to respond to just raw magic in general here a few months back, but I still have trouble opening it, that's why Harold is here." He shrugs, "He'll probably leave us the moment he sees his work is done. He could probably teach you to open it on your own at some point."

As Vincent mentions Liet's friend, his eyes narrow and his smile fades into something more sour. "I serve under a certain lady who doesn't like the way I do things. She'd much rather I seal myself up underground and work as a doctor there. I have the impression she rather resents my seniority..."

Yokuutsu 12-17-2013 05:41 PM

Vincent just blinks. "Why was it Earth magic?" He has to ask....not everyone would have been able to do that so he has to ask. "Why do you have trouble opening it?" It makes no sense to him since Liet can control his magic and all unlike Vincent and all. He eyeballs Vincent a bit, not sure if he wants to be alone with HArold to learn that.

He edges away a bit at Liet's face. He doesn't like that face to say the least. "Um....okay then...why would she want anyone to do that?" The sealed up underground part that is.

Liethell 12-17-2013 05:58 PM

"Well, it was earth magic because that's what was used to carve out a space for a city to begin with. The door is just this unimportant section of wall that you used to have to push with earth magic. The new system is set that, at the presence of magic in a certain pattern, the door opens on it's own and closes after so many moments. I think I have trouble opening it because Light magic is very lightweight and whispy. It's sometimes hard to detect and the door just doesn't detect it every time. It's not anything I can help, light magic will always be pretty lightweight. I also wonder if it doesn't have anything to do with being bonded with a demon. My traces of magic are vastly different than yours. For one, I have a signature that is a different 'language' than yours, so the door tends to read demon magic as a misfire or failed attempt to open."

"I think she's bitter. She's young, smart, ambitious, but very bitter. The world up here hurt her too many times, and she's of the view that everyone should just lock themselves away. It's like a plot straight out of X-men if you ask me." He sighs and shakes his head.

Yokuutsu 12-17-2013 06:24 PM

"Oh....okay then....that makes sense." To Vincent it makes sense, though it obviously has become outdated. "Is it bad....that I can only think of Harry Potter at the moment..." He likes to read, even if he isn't always able to do it as much as he'd like. "Well....maybe someday they'll change the door or something to where you can do it...where it can read it or something." It's a version of technology in his mind...just involving magic...and technology is always changing.

He just sighs at the explanation. "If everyone was like her, no one would trust anyone....and that would eventually turn to violence probably."

Liethell 12-17-2013 11:06 PM

"Oh, I'm sure the door will change." He bobs his head in an attempt to seem wise and sage. "It's just a matter of how much longer will I have to rely on everyone else to open it for me. Most the rest of the magic technology in the city works just fine for me, it's just that one door..."

"Well, she doesn't want everyone to be like her. In her mind, too many leaders would result in chaos, and she's right. She's just one of those people--she has an us or them mentality. You see it a lot everywhere--from sexists to feminists, liberal or conservative, black or white, everyone's got some kind of us or them idea in our head." He sighs and shakes his head, letting his hair fall into his lap and not bothering to fix it at all. "I just don't like that particular point of view is all."

Yokuutsu 12-17-2013 11:23 PM

Vincent chuckles a bit. "Well, if I learn how...I'd let you in." He says simply. "Why would the rest work and not that if they're all the same the way?" He's just wondering at this point to tell the truth.

"Well, I meant in general, not leaders, just people with that mentality." He doesn't see it that way, unless someone is attacking, then that can be a good thing. To make sure they don't lose and all. Though there's got to be somewhere he thinks like that, but he can't find it right now.

(Is it bad that I just thought about how Liet would react if Vincent was turned into a child by magic gone wrong or something)

Liethell 12-18-2013 11:10 AM

"Well, nobody updates the door as often. It takes a while and it's just not seen as necessary sometimes. After all, if it's harder to open, then it's doing it's job." He shrugs. "It's just laziness. Everyone's putting effort into working on the city itself, not the door to the city."

"Well, not everyone else thinks that way, and that works for Marcy." He sighs obnoxiously loud and lays his head on Vincent's shoulder. "Nobody expects the rest of the world to think like her. Just the fact that she'd dare keep me from doing good works--it disgusts me." He offers the chair in front of him a look, as if it was covered in vomit and he didn't want to see it anymore.

Yokuutsu 12-18-2013 02:02 PM

"Yeah, but not updating it could, eventually, cause it to be a weakness as well." Vincent says, thinking about it a bit. "Well, hopefully they'll work on it eventually....because what good is anything else if some can't get in and all?"

He ends up kind of petting Liet's head after a moment or two. "I'm glad the rest of the world doesn't think like her. That would be a bit too much." There would be too much violence and all. "Well....don't let her then?" He doesn't know what all is tied to it and all though.

Liethell 12-18-2013 09:15 PM

"It'll get replaced." He puffs out some irritation about the subject. "Eventually. I'll put in a complaint. It might be done by next year."

"Well, I could just walk away from her orders, but there's a hierarchy to listen to, and you can't just walk away from the familia. They'll probably kill you. I probably should've mentioned that earlier..." He muses, scratching his chin. He acts as if it's no big deal..

Yokuutsu 12-19-2013 12:15 AM

Vincent can't help but snort a bit. "Or next millenium?" Bureaucracies can be fairly slow especially with all that red tape and all.

He frowns, very unhappy about this new information. "Yeah, you should have....it might have changed my decision a bit." Considering that now, it seems neither option would have ended well. If he killed someone using his magic by accident, death through the legal system...and now this on the other side. Lovely.

Liethell 12-19-2013 11:50 AM

"Or next millennium." He rolls his eyes. For as slow as things move there, he wouldn't be surprised...

He smiles, his cheeks a little flushed in embarrassment. Oopsies. "Well, the good part is, unless you climb the rankings and get up as high as I am, nobody will notice, probably. A lot of regular old people just use the system as a means to get on their feet, even though they're not supposed to, and they get away with it. I'm kind of unique. An old doctor, talented with demon magic, you don't come across demon-magic healers too often. You should be fine. Probably."

Yokuutsu 12-19-2013 04:22 PM

Vincent starts giggling a bit, unable to help himself. Bureaucracies never change it seems.

He still looks really unhappy at Vincent once the topic is on the family again. "I still would have liked to know beforehand." He's kind of pouting without realizing it at the moment. Because what if he's one of them who can't get away with it? What if he catches the attention or something? It could be bad.

Liethell 12-19-2013 06:25 PM

"I'm sorry." His smile is gone, and the words sound genuine. It's startling how he went from brushing it off to apologetic in just a single moment like that. "Look, I forget sometimes. I forget not everyone can just outlive things, but I'll do everything I can to make sure you have mobility, the ability to get out when you're ready to leave. I promise." He looks up at him, and somehow his blinded eyes can find his face and look him right in the eyes.

Yokuutsu 12-19-2013 11:16 PM

Vincent blinks a bit, surprised at the change in Liet. Just a moment ago, he was acting like it was no big deal or anything. What Liet says touches on his worry about this entire thing. He can't survive everything...what if he gets shoved into something that he can't survive? The thought scares him. "Really?" He asks softly. He's learned to not trust people too much.

Liethell 12-20-2013 11:03 AM

"Really. You have my word on it, and my word is as good as gold." He offers him a small smile, in hopes he'll understand.

Yokuutsu 12-20-2013 12:43 PM

Vincent just smiles at him before hugging him, a bit tightly. "Thank you." He says softly. All he wants really is to feel a bit safe...eventually have a place to stay. Basic things. He can work from there.

Liethell 12-20-2013 05:54 PM

"You're welcome." He smiles, he closes his eyes. After the tender moment passes, it becomes clear that he's not letting go. He remains clung onto Vincent, occasionally running his fingers through the younger one's hair. Harold seems quite agitated about it, but he keeps his grumbling below the sound of the radio.

Yokuutsu 12-20-2013 05:57 PM

Vincent is a bit surprised, but at least part of him doesn't mind. His touch is a bit soothing to say the least and he leans into it. He does miss the days when he was close to people and everything.

(What if...his parents gave him up in an attempt to keep him from getitng into the magic mafia like they were? They failed if that's the case XD)

Liethell 12-20-2013 07:43 PM

(That would be hilarious lD I can see it happening.)

Liet is perfectly happy to cuddle him. If left undisturbed, he's likely to hold him the whole way there. Trissie turns to face them and grins,
"You gotch yerself a new one yeah? He'll outlive yah kiddoe. How old are yah anyways?"

Yokuutsu 12-20-2013 07:46 PM

(Yay lol :3)

And Vincent, at the moment at least, is perfectly good with the cuddling. Though that won't last forever more than likely. He blinks at the woman a bit before his brain finally starts working. "I'm 22." He isn't sure what is meant by that first part, but that middle part, he knows already.

Liethell 12-20-2013 07:55 PM

"Yeh, he'll outlive yah alright. You just think of ol' Leet as a o-n-s yah hear?" She turns to the front and folds her arms behind her head, "Ah've seen him mourn the last partner he had, back when I was a wee lassie, and it ain't all that pretty." Liet, strangely enough, keeps silent on this topic. He has his face buries in the crook of Vincent's neck.

Yokuutsu 12-20-2013 10:02 PM

Vincent just looks up at her, a bit confused. "What?" What's an ons? He has no clue at this point, though he feels like he should maybe. He makes a weird little noise of his, looking at Liet. That's one of the reasons why he wouldn't want to live forever or anything. He'd eventually leave everyone behind or something. He kind of pets Liet a bit...well...more his hair.

(He'll be a vampiric pikachu by the end of it XD -might be joking-)

Liethell 12-20-2013 11:05 PM

"One night stand, kiddo. You bam 'em, slam 'em, thank-you-ma'am 'em." She laughs and Liet rolls his eyes. His face and voice do carry only the slightest hints of sadness. "Just ignore her. She's teasing you. She means well." He pats his shoulder, and he lays there too and allows Vincent to play with his hair. It's still frizzy from being electrocuted, but it smells of apples and perfume...

Yokuutsu 12-21-2013 12:13 AM

Vincent frowns a bit. He's not one for a one night stand. He hasn't had one yet at least...and that's a feat for some people. He doesn't really know what to say. "I guess that's fine....as long as everyone is on the same page and all." He says softly without adding the bit about emotions and all. He doesn't think he could do that. He tries to get Liet's hair to not be so frizzy...though he probably will never succeed at it.

Liethell 12-21-2013 12:30 AM

She just smiles at the boy in the rearview mirror, a peculiar smile as if she knows something he doesn't. Liet takes the elastic band out of his hair and undoes the braid, and now Vincent's got more than a waterfall of frizz. He has the great lakes of hair in his lap. Liet joins in the de-frizzing session. "I'll probably have to find someplace to get it treated, my hair doesn't deal well with frizzes..."

Yokuutsu 12-21-2013 12:38 AM

Vincent just tilts his head a bit, noticing the smile. He doesn't understand it, but he doesn't question it either. He'll figure it out or he won't. One of the two. He bows his head a bit at Liet's words, feeling a bit bad about it. "Sorry." He didn't mean to do it to say the least, though he is trying to fix it a bit.

(He's going to become a vampiric pikachu. XD PICTURE IT!)

Liethell 12-21-2013 10:58 AM

"Hey, don't worry about it. Remember those scars? I got them before I knew how to heal, and I had a good old friend, Marco, who electrocuted me. Came close to stopping my heart too. You should've seen the afro. I had to shave it all off and start again, it was horrible." He grins a little more broadly now, even laughing between his words.

Yokuutsu 12-21-2013 01:44 PM

Vincent still feels bad about it in general though. He frowns at Liet's words. "I don't know if I'd be able to joke about something like that..." Almost dying that is, if it wasn't for that...well...maybe he could. He just hugs him a bit. "You're insane." He says simply, smiling a bit.

Liethell 12-21-2013 01:47 PM

"Maybe I am. I've come so close to death so many times, I think being insane is a little excusable." He laughs and presses a kiss onto Vincent's neck.

Yokuutsu 12-21-2013 10:48 PM

Vincent shakes his head a bit. "Nope, you should just avoid death a little bit more." He says simply. He kind of squeaks and shivers at the kiss before blushing. He wasn't expecting that one.

Liethell 12-22-2013 11:50 AM

"Can't help it. I'm a doctor, Vincent, and death's an old friend of mine." He grins and kisses his neck more. That squeaking sound was too adorable, and either he wants to hear it again or he's up to something a little less innocent. Harold sighs and rolls his eyes.

Yokuutsu 12-22-2013 05:25 PM

"There's a difference between that and you almost getting killed." Vincent says before squeaking and shivering again at the kiss. "Wh-what are you doing?" It makes him feel a bit weird, though not bad.
