I think one way to prevent having have 24/7 moderators is to simply disallow the posting of ANY links or ANY images. Take away the BB Codes for those.

Pure verbal chat... which sucks tbqh. Creativity and expression severely limited, but at least there's no way for infringing content to be posted then.

Taking away the bbcode doesn't stop people from posting links; it only keeps people from posting CLICKABLE links. We'd have to actually censor anything that looks like a web link, and that starts pissing people off. It would kill the art section completely. It would disrupt the gaming section. It would make it difficult to have debates over current events. That'd kill the site as much as anything else.

Not to mention that would arguably not even help, because it wouldn't stop TEXTUAL copyright infringement -- might even make it worse! Someone can't link to an article, so just copy-pastes the article, maybe in a quote tag for attribution's sake... bam! Infringing on the article's copyright.

I'm wondering how deep the requirement goes.

What if someone doesn't link to copyrighted material directly, but links to a place that links to copyrighted material.

There are to many risks. Trisphee wont close for as long as I can afford it. If SOPA passes it will on the other hand go dark and there wont be access.

Edit: the reason i would do this is in hopes that if SOPA passed that it would go down due to strikes as fast as possible. I would want Trisphee to be back immediately after that if that were to happen. I don't want Trisphee to die and I highly doubt if it passes the American people would let it stay that way for long.

Well to humor me Coda and I are going ahead and discussing how Trisphee would stay after SOPA, but it would make trisphee pre-moderated and that may cause huge problems.... But we are discussing it.
