"Don't worry about it," he told her.
Laurel sighed again as she slowly swung her legs over the side of the bed, her frown deepened. "I'm so weak," she complained a little, shifting.
Nic blinked, wondering why she was surprised.
Laurel was pouting, "It's your fault!" she declared, "You always make me so helpless..."
"... You didn't take care of yourself," Nic countered calmly.
"Because I was so consumed by your actions! Like usual!" Laurel retorted, pointing a finger at him.
"What should I have done different?" Nic countered nonchalantly before taking a sip of coffee.
"You should have told me the truth earlier!" she replied hotly.
"And what should I have said exactly?" he replied, still calm.
Laurel opened her mouth, "You should have...!" but then closed it as she thought about it. She seemed to realize that she wouldn't have believed anything he told her when she was so angry. So instead she changed the subject, "Since when do you meditate?" she huffed.
Nic let Laurel change the subject. "I haven't," he replied.
That threw Laurel off for a moment, "That was your first time meditating?" she clarified.
Nic shook his head. "I learned in the Yin Long," he clarified. "But I haven't done it since I left until the other day."
Laurel frowned a little, "Why did you suddenly do it again?" she asked.
"To explore my mind," Nic replied simply as he sipped some more coffee.
That made Laurel a little nervous, "Are you... sure that's a good idea?" she asked quietly.
