Dark blinked at Alexander's comment, "My dreams are really a curse, they are merely a part of life. I don't think they are possible to get rid of." Maybe there was a drug or something, but he did not want to take any drugs. "And I can be happy eeven with my dreams."
he had nothing to say to that and so he said nothing, instead he leaned down and gave the other a chaste kiss. he pulled away. "that is what is right and good" he reassured himself with the kiss. he would not lose himself to doubt. he was his lord's prince.
Dark gave Alexander a smile, "Yes, now should we continue on or stay here?" He was lightly teasing, he knew they would eventually return to their trek. The way the conversation had turned though and set him off his comfort zone.
he looked up and out towards the direction they had been going "we should continue" he stood up and brushed himself off then picked up dark and brushed him as well "we must be home before sunset and i do not know how long the journey is"
"The walk sould only take 15-20 more minutes, but we might want to take our time at the town." Dark explained having walked thw route enough times to get a general idea on how long it takes to traverse. "When we return we can take the shorter route and save some time."
he nodded. it was good to have plenty of time to get things done, he smiled then and took the other's hand "the bridge then?"
"To the bridge." Dark agreed then started walking again. The bridge came into view quickly and Dark speed up slightly at the sight of it. It meant the trek was 3/4 done.
it was not large or complicated and did not span much farther than a few feet across a cheery brook but in it's simplicity he saw his lord, i was well made and had nothing more to it than it needed. he smiled. it was a bridge he was proud to know came from the other's hands he tightened his grip as they crossed off of his lord's land and into unknown territory
Dark felt the other's grip tighten as they walked over the bridge. The path was much easier now and warn as though many other people traversed it regularily. With the path easy Alexander was not tripping at all. All to soon they arrived at the edge of town and Alexander asked, "Where do you want to go first?"
"the market?" he had already forgotten what they had come for
"The market it is then." Dark said making a mental note to stop by the library afterwards. "Anything in particular you want, or is it just to browse?"
he opened his mouth to ask about weapons or the witch's stall but remembered that there was no magic here. he closed his mouth and shook his head. he had no other preferences.
as they walked through town he was awed, nothing looked right to him, there were no shacks or sky-scrapers, no shuttles or caves, nothing normal at all. he gripped the other's hand tightly and walked as close as he could |
Dark could not help but wounder what had set the other off. Akexab=nder was acting more clingy then usual, and not while he minded he would like to ease his discomfort if possible. "SOmething wrong, Alexander?" He asked.
"the town looks strange" he tried to stand straighter and look less intimidated, he did not want to seem a coward "it is nothing, really"
"Different set up then your used to or is it the buildings?" He had not seen manu buildings besides these and so had grown accustom to them but he supposed that they would look odd to another. Dark made a turn still holding Alexander's hand.
"the buildings, i have never read a story with ones like these" he looked out over the short brick and stone buildings, all were uniform in size and all falling in the categories of brown or white in color
