Nic let it go as long as he could to keep Laurel happy. But he did force himself to pull away.
-- Raven didn't seem to mind. |
Laurel forced herself away when he did, "I... I'll see you tomorrow... then..." she whispered.
-- The sunset was indeed breathtaking. Of course... Wolfe didn't see it, he was fast asleep. |
Nic nodded a little, not saying anything.
-- So Raven watched the sunset as he rested his head on Wolfe's. And when it was over, he started to fall asleep too. |
Laurel stood but then paused, "Carry me there?" she barely whispered.
Nic took a deep breath. He wished she would have mentioned that before he kissed her so long. But he managed to think of other things as he stood, picked Laurel up, and carried her to her room. But he stopped at the entrance, not going inside.
Laurel was half asleep by the time they arrived. She mumbled something but didn't wake.
Nic mumbled some curses under his breath. Not this again. So he walked in and tried to put Laurel to bed as quickly as he could without her clinging to him.
Laurel clung for a moment but as he put the blanket over her she turned and snuggled into it, releasing him.
A relieved Nic then quickly left the room and went back to his own.
Raven woke to Wolfe's curses.
Raven let out a loud yawn, not too disturbed as he pulled the blanket tighter.
Wolfe's cussing only got louder.
"Morning," Raven mumbled.
Wolfe turned and glared at Raven, "Why did you let me fall asleep?" he accused.
"... You didn't tell me not to let you," Raven yawned.
"We drifted..." Wokfe explained, trying to calm himself down.
