he was quite embarrassed over having gotten so much attention but at the same time he was pleased to be thought of as so important as to receive it. the sun was halfway across the evening sky when they came upon the baker's shop at the edge of town it was strange to see the large bakery right next to the shop but there was water nearby so maybe it was not so strange as he thought, they entered into the building and were instantly taken in by the smell of breads and desert sweets. his mouth watered at the sights and smells so when roy asked him what he wanted he did not hesitate and pointed. centered for all to see was a caramel layered flake-pastry strewn with walnuts honey and almonds.

Roy bought the other man what he wanted without hesitation, he had told Damaris that he would care for him and spoil him. He intended to do so even if the other was reluctant to accept so many things. Roy brought his arm across the other man's shoulders, he walked out of the pastry store with Damaris. "I heard that there is going to be a festival tonight in this little village to celebrate some sort of final harvest of the crops." Roy looked at Damaris as they walked by a few other stores and some homes. "I won't drink if that bothers you, though I can not make any promises." he whispered to the other man. Roy had never told anyone that he would try not to drink because he knew that he shouldn't even be saying such a thing to begin with. He looked up from Damaris, Roy's smile disappeared as his eyes fell on another man who was walking by them. The other man looked at Roy, their eyes met and they watched each other for a little bit. Roy pried his eyes away from the other man then returned his eyes to Damaris. "Will you come to the festival with me? It's alright if you say no. If you stay at the inn then maybe I will too, I don't want to leave you alone." |
he did not understand the looks the two shared but it made him uncomfortable all the same. "....go wherever you will me to" he wanted to say more but the stranger was still walking not too far away. though he had not eaten anything in nearly two days the thought of the pastry now set his mouth to ash, he pocketed it and walked closer to the other. he his deeper in the coat
