Thank you Meghan ^_^;;

Tonight I shall be busy making bracelets as last-minute extra presents for my sisters and aunt... I just hope that they fit/ aren't too big or small... ^_^;;

Metaphorical terms, and terms that have different cultural implications, are definitely bad.

To make matters worse, the current state of machine translation is REALLY bad about being able to tell the difference between positive and negative sentences. It can COMPLETELY invert the meaning of the subject.

Oh man, I still need to figure out what to do for Christmas gifts....blargle.

I've got to get all my presents for the family sorted before next weekend when we are due to go down and visit for my brothers 6th birthday... They live 3 hours drive away so it's difficult and expensive for us to see them often...

In good news, I've got one of the bracelets made before we had to turn the lights down to help calm down the little one and help her off to sleep...

trystan830 12-07-2014 11:56 PM

my chanukah crocheting is done. xmas crocheting, i still have two more gifts to make.

Awen Moonshine 12-08-2014 01:17 AM

Congrats Trystan ^_^ Not too much left to do ^_^

After drinking what I think was regular caffeinated coffee earlier (even though I'd asked for decaf) I've been unable to sleep, but the good news to this is that I've finished the bracelet for my other sister and have picked out the beads and charms to make my aunts and nans bracelets ^_^

Now to try and get a couple of hours sleep before the little one needs me... ^_^;;

trystan830 12-08-2014 01:37 AM

nope.... but the blanket i'm making for hubby is a big one. *sigh*

kiki 12-08-2014 06:43 AM

im giving homemade cookies to mom and dad and earphones for my big sister :D
and for my friends, i am giving them santa stickers <3

Ginger 12-08-2014 12:37 PM

I'm hoping to make some homemade woodburning household items for home decor to give as presents this year. Wooden spoons, cup coasters, maybe a cutting board. Any other ideas?

trystan830 12-08-2014 01:02 PM

i don't have any other ideas, but that sounds really neat, Ginger!

Awen Moonshine 12-08-2014 01:18 PM

Wow! That sounds pretty awesome (and complex) Ginger! ^_^

Having looked through my beads I've discovered a shocking lack of purple beads, so I've had to order more and ended up getting carried away again... ^_^;; Hopefully I'll have enough bracelets made by and pictured the time the next order comes through to be able to set up a store to help pay for even more beads ^_^;;

:o Holiday bash? Sign me up! :3

7. Ginger, what about Christmas tree ornaments? That way you just need a medallion with a hole in it. Stick a ribbon through it and you're done. Or if you can make small medallions, maybe keychains or necklaces?

Ginger 12-09-2014 12:56 AM

Those are great ideas, Meghan! And mention of beads gives me the idea of creating patterns on wooden beads n__n

Not yet, I'll be taking pictures when they are all done though ^_^ (I've nearly finished the one for my Nan and then I'll just have the one for my Aunt left to make) It won't take me long to make them as I need to have them made, pictured and boxed ready for this Saturday ^_^

Amazon is the best site ever for Christmas shopping. But I always do it at once for the free shipping. XD

I've always been in awe of people who are crafty... I keep trying, but it doesn't stick.

MeghanB 12-10-2014 12:24 AM

9. Some years I have more time than money, and those are the crafting years. Some years I have more money than time, and those are the shopping years. Some years I'm short on both, and those are the think-of-something-clever-fast years.

Time to get thinking, I guess!! XD

trystan830 12-10-2014 12:25 AM

my mom taught me to sew when i was in middle school. i taught myself to crochet at the end of 2011... =)

That's great. I know how to sew a little. Just enough to sew things together.

trystan830 12-10-2014 01:16 AM

well that's important too, Eros. =D

Mek 12-10-2014 01:16 AM

I'm not allowed near the sewing machine anymore. I made a blanket for my Dad one year for Father's Day... or tried too. My mother in law gave me two shots on her sewing machine before doing it herself because I almost broke the machine both times. I did the embroidery on it by hand, though.

trystan830 12-10-2014 01:19 AM

awww... oopsie! hand embroidery is pretty awesome though!

Mek 12-10-2014 01:21 AM

It was my first big project, and it wasn't super fancy, but I thought it looked pretty nice.

trystan830 12-10-2014 01:26 AM

well that's pretty awesome then!
