That's an interesting idea and I may need to bring Gozed onto my brainstorming staff because he's good at this.

I can think of more. Randomly rewarded items based on the things encountered (or stumbled across). Stats available to be customized by each user for themselves, like 100 posts gets you one point in a class tree.
Assign spec altering stats to some of the items you can get, OOOOOOR have a whole new set of items come out with the stats and have a "battle" avatar you can use to show up in the game, this way you have armor that actually adds protection and whatnot.

Some of those are already the intent. Others are actually contrary to the design goals. I'm not going to say which is which. ;)

Fine, I'll take my ideas and make my own game. With blackjack and hookers... in fact forget the game... and blackjack.

Nope, no relationship. There's a lot of work that we'd need to do in order to get the groups feature looking pretty enough to want to use it for something serious.
