That there are. It isn't everyone's cup of tea though, and I get that.

I started off playing a fire mage, then went to fire/arcane, then arcane main with points in frost and fire once Wrath came out. I then started playing a Prot Pally....but they seriously "screwed the pooch" with that in Mists. I really see no point in playing either any more....even the DK isn't fun any more unless you just want to be DPS as Unholy.

Speaking of fantasy, you ever read any of Brent Weeks' books? Specifically the Night Angel trilogy.

I ended up creating a lock and played him into the 40s as Demonology. Did Off spec of Destro. Worked out pretty well, but will say Warlocks got a good upgrade with Mists. Extra quest to make all your fire into fel fire (the green stuff).

My 85's were my mage and my pally, but my DK was 84.

He does good work. The Night Angel trilogy was amazing story and lore wise (granted I've only made it through the first book and still need to finish the other two).

I loved my warlock in BC i was on a pvp server and it was grand >w< she ate rogues for breakfast that were like oh a caster! Oh dear god why! XD <3

Dk's in the start of wrath weren't really a challenge either.. though they had changed the warlock by then so i kinda started losing my draw to the game and took a break and leveled a druid after that, after the druid got so geared i was bored i started my prot warrior. I miss her too >w< though i miss being Horde with her mainly, undead females frontflip while tanking how win D;

an yeah i saw that update on the beta when i tested it. Though i wasn't impressed enough to get the expansion.. i was like i dont feel like leveling the 117 mini pets i have .w.

I'll look it up, i hope its first book is better then the wheel of time series Kano is trying to get me to read xP i struggled on the first few chapters and i was like ugh come on Dx I need to go back to the forgotten Realm books and read more of those >w< Even if the mmo sucks at least I can read those and play Bauldar's Gate :3

I always played Horde...could never stand all the kiddies on the Alliance side of the game. Seemed to be more of the older group of players....at least until BC with the Blood Elves. After that it seemed to balance out a bit.

Well, the pet fighting was a neat idea, and it does seem fun. Haven't done it and since I plan to cancel my subscription soon (did the 1 year agreement to play and also get Diablo 3 as part of it thing....wouldn't have done it if I'd realized how bad Mists was going to be as a whole for what content was given to players still running Cata), I don't intend to. Might do a bit of a run towards the end and just play for the hell of it, but unless they really revamp the game, I think I'm done with the warcraft series until they release the next RTS in the form of Warcraft IV.

It has to deal with magic, assassins, different nations and conflict, etc., etc. It is very cool....the magic isn't done in an entirely traditional sense.

i only switched to alliance when i switched servers and my friends were all ally xP i hated it though.. i missed being a cow D: i loved my cute cow druid <3 my warlock is and will forever be horde though >w<;

I started out Horde because of a few friends and loved it. Undead Mage, woohoo! "Let's charge into battle...wait a second, need to tape up my paper armor." I made that joke and a few others quite a bit...was way too squishy, but so much damage. Ended up server hopping with my guild to a lower population one, but it eventually disbanded due to quite a few of the officers and the leader getting busy in real life (myself included).

I think they are gameplay wise by trying to milk WoW for all they can. I honestly think they should trace it back to its roots with an RTS. There have been rumors of one in the works, but there has been no announcement or confirmation....or anything of the sort besides rumors for years.

I loved horde.. they had the better story if you ask me.. well till like everyone cool was killed off or left -.-; I can't get over that they killed Cairn (probably spelled wrong) I was like he helped form the horde! D:

Yeah, he did help form the Horde as it is known in game now. Killing Cairne off was a dick thing...especially reading the book/story and how it happened...Magetha using Hellscream like that....just....no. Baine isn't a bad replacement for his father though story wise, but will just have to see where they take it. I was genuinely surprised though that Thrall stepped down as Warchief and went out as a shaman 100% to try and heal the world. I thought for sure he wouldn't.....especially given his character and how determined/stubborn he was.

I think I heard that their other MMO was going to be based in the Starcraft universe after Legacy of the Void. If you ask me they shouldn't do that and should leave Starcraft as just an RTS in terms of game. Don't want it to turn into what Warcraft became....yegh.....though I do wish they had released Starcraft: Ghost instead of scrapping the project.

I didn't mind most of them in the grand scheme of the lore....just some of it was certainly surprising. What it came down to was Garrosh Hellscream challenging Cairne to a duel to the death, but it was Magatha Grimtotem "blessed" Garrosh's axe Gorehowl with what turned out to be a poison so that a simple nick caused Cairne to collapse and die. Grimtotem ended up split with half supporting Baine and the other half exiled under Magatha.

And wow....well, I suppose a new MMO in an entirely new universe would be a welcome change, but with Blizzard, there's no telling.

Yeah, they are definitely good with RTS's.

He was a Hellscream and as such hot blooded.....his father was corrupted by the demonic blood, but their nature has always been very warlike. The Warsong clan is known for its fierceness. Yeah...I know way too much about the lore and story. I've read most of the books and played the games a lot...heh...

The idea of a cash shop was already introduced with Diablo 3 for in game items, so the framework is already there for sure. Not a bad idea....or perhaps for certain game variants or what not.

I stopped paying attention to its lore after a while.. started reading more into Elder scrolls or other stories. Or in more recent events with the Neverwinter beta being over with for the time being reading the forums as Drow DnD players bash on Drizzit fanboys :P ah I love reading nerds trying to kill one another makes my day all the better. >w<

Never did get into Elder Scrolls or DnD. Not sure why, just didn't seem like my "cup of tea" really. I've read most of Blizzard's stuff though....still have some of the Starcraft ones to read though. On top of that I've been reading some of the Lore behind the League of Legends champions as well....

Well, like I said, never played DnD. Most I ever did was do some card games like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.

I enjoy League. It's run pretty well and new champions are introduced to create some variety. I don't know, I find it entertaining.

I only ever did one...the Celestial Steed. Then when I did the deal for the one year to get Diablo 3 in the mix as well I got Tyrael's Charger as part of the deal.

I never played DotA when it was a part of Warcraft, but I enjoy LoL. *shrugs* It's a fun game, and doesn't require too much skill to learn.

I got it like a few weeks before they ended it. Tried out the Mists beta as part of it as well....wasn't too impressive since I never could create one of their "end game" characters to try out the 85-90 content.

I might try LoL sometime... though news might be that Secret world is free to play >w> I might finally get to try that out haha i was following that mmo for a while >w<

I just enjoyed playing as a Monk. Tried it out as a tank and DPS....did okay with it. Not great, but decent. I was set in my Pally tank ways though to be honest.

I played it in beta as well and it wasn't perfect but it wasn't horrible. Yeah...they really revamped the classes big time shifting into Mists. Only one I was liking was Warlock to be honest.

Ah.....okay. Sounds about like how The Old Republic was and changed to now in terms of cost then. Except I know they still have a pay to play ability that grants you a good chunk of incentives.

yeah.. i wish more games took the LOTRO route where you have pay to play where you get bonus stuff, have a cash shop and if you work hard enough you can get cash shop currency in the game for free. ~itd take you a loooong time to get anything

They revamped the resource system in terms of soul shards, fire essences (or whatever Destro has now) and demonic energy. It made each spec unique to some extent and changed the play styles while keeping some of the same styling. I definitely enjoyed it and that is the one thing I think I will miss once I end my subscription.

I kind of wish that to. I know there are some free to play MMOs that I'm on where you can earn paid currency for x achievement or every x number of levels. It takes a while, but it is still something.

hrm.. interesting. Though any thoughts of trying my old classes are gone now seeing as my friend who wants to buy my account finally got her taxes back. (that and im in need of money so .w.)

yeah .. more games should take that route i mean i think out of any game me and my husband have spent the most on LOTRO, sometimes we renew the monthly sub to it to get some bonuses and stuff unlocked that month. Or you can just buy the currency for the shop or farm it in game (that takes a looong time xD)

It's a good system though LOTRO keeps everything rather up to date considering. They are always looking to improve and they do update graphics once in a while as well :3

my only real gripe is that mounts in the cash shop cost like 25$ D: but seeing as cosmetics are the only real thing that draws me to the cash shop.. xD i can't really complain.

I hate cash shops in game... it is a necessary evil though for the developers to get money to work on the games.
