Tulip seemed to take a liking to Dan and she giggled as she looked her up and down, "You're the artist, right?" she asked one day, "Can you paint me?" she said as she struck a beautiful pose. Zala, who was often by her side, rolled her eyes.
"Uh..." murmured Dan who was having a difficult time taking a liking to Tulip. "I don't have any paints..."
Tulip blinked, "What? Didn't they give you any? You should have just taken some from James." she huffed. Zala sighed, "We could probably dig around and find you some if you'd like." she said calmly.
"... I've had a pretty serious case of artist's block lately," Dan replied.
Tulip blinked, "Well, that's all the more reason to draw me!" she giggled, "I'm inspirational!"
Zala rolled her eyes again before shoving Tulip. |
"... It doesn't work like that," Dan tried to explain.
Tulip pouted, "Why not?!" she whined.
"Because artist's block has never worked like that," she retorted.
Tulip continues to pout until Bee walked up, "We're approaching Sweden, Wolfe wants to talk." she told her. Kale had been dispatched to tell Raven.
Dan sighed a little. "I guess that's my que," she shrugged before she started to walk off.
Raven wasn't too difficult to find, and he made his way to talk with Wolfe. |
Wolfe nodded as they entered, "We're almost in Sweden. You'll depart before we land." he explained.
"Alright," Raven replied with a bit of a sigh.
He turned to Dan to ask her a question, but she replied, "I'm already packed..." He nodded a little, but she didn't seem too happy. |
"Go ahead and board your Juttle then. I'll open the door to let you out when it's time."
Raven nodded to Wolfe again before starting to head out. Dan followed after him slowly.
The flight over was fairly quick. Laurel answered the door when they knocked and was clearly taken aback by the three of them. She stood there with wide eyes and a slack jaw. It was even clearly up close that she had been hit quite a few times. The bruising was hard to tell with her skin color but places were a shade or two darker and her cheek was definitely swollen. She was speechless as she blocked the door.
"Hey Laurel," Raven told her with a smile. They had agreed to not bring up the cuts and bruises yet in an attempt to keep Laurel from diving into her shell right away. "Would you like some company?"
