"Of course not," James smiled, in the voice of a politician, "Your sister's an absolute angel."
|
Sheng smirked a little. "Clearly you just have just met," he replied.
|
James smirked back, "Lets just say she's finally shown me her true nature."
|
"True nature?" Sheng asked lightheartedly as if he didn't intend for this conversation to be a deep one. "Don't tell me she's a rock star a heart. Though this must be the first time she hasn't dressed up as some sort of princess for Halloween; it's rather refreshing."
|
"I suggested a princess costume but she shot it down," James chuckled, continuing the third person tone, "She really values what you'll think."
|
Yue glared at James a little.
Sheng paused before nodding. "That's good to hear," he replied. "... I really have missed you," he continued, addressing Yue directly now. Then Ling chuckled a bit. "He has," she confirmed. Yue didn't reply, a little embarrassed and wary. |
James hugged Yue a little tighter, "She's missed you a lot too," he answered for her.
|
Sheng smirked at Yue and James before turning to see the latest guests arriving.
True to his word, Raven had found a devil's tail to wear along with some appropriate getup. But it was no ordinary tail - it was programmed to simulate different movements given the wearer's mood. Raven had also taken it upon himself to find a pair of wings for Wolfe that were similarly programmed. The tail wagged back and forth lightly as he entered with Wolfe. |
Wolfe's wings were flapping a little aggressively, he still didn't understood why they had come. He looked... quite stunning in the get up though his expression wasn't all that angelic.
James shuttered a little at them and focused back on Yue. |
Surprisingly, Sheng didn't appear too disturbed by the newcomers. Yue rolled her eyes a little at James.
Raven looked around before pausing and glancing behind them. "Come on," he called to Fin and Frei. |
Frei walked in, unashamed and looking adorable in her Alice costume. Or course, her eyes still retained their adult like quality.
"Ah!" Hayden exclaimed, "My sister's here!" and he went over to greet her. Frei just stared him down. |
Fin was still chilling outside the door, a little hesitant to go inside.
|
Laurel poked Nic, "Go get your brother," she suggested/ordered.
Frei walked away from Hayden and straight up to Sheng, looking him over without blinking for an awkwardly long time. |
Nic raised an eyebrow.
Sheng took the stare well, looking at Frei with equally curious eyes. He seemed to know there was something different about her. |
After a moment, Frei's analysis seemed complete and she turned her unblinking gaze on Ling.
|
Ling chuckled a little at Frei. "You're very good at staring contests," she told Frei, bending down to her level. "I'm Ling," she told her.
After some more staring, Nic finally sighed and walked outside. He was only gone for a short moment before walking back in carrying Fin inside by the scruff of his Chesire Cat costume. |
Frei finally blinked, "I know," she stated in her blank voice, "You're Sheng's wife and you're pregnant."
Laurel snapped a picture with her phone, laughing. |
Ling blinked a little before winking at Frei and putting a finger over her lips, gesturing for her to keep it a secret.
Nic carried a red Fin over to Laurel and put him down in front of her before grabbing something else to snack on. |
"Hmm..." Frei snorted, "From the way you two have been described I'd have thought you'd have red eyes and fangs," she stated blandly.
-- Laurel patted Fin on the shoulder, "Frei's over with Sheng," she explained. |
Ling didn't seem hurt by Frei's words. "Nope," she told her.
"Who?" Fin asked quietly. |
Frei shrugged slightly, "Phantom of the Opera?" she inquired, "You end up with them if you follow that movie," he stated, pointing to the brothers, "And he runs off," she informed Ling, pointing at Sheng.
-- "Sheng, Yue's brother," Laurel said, pointing. |
Ling glanced around as Frei pointed. Then she looked back at Frei and chuckled before shrugging.
Fin glanced over, but he seemed rather intimidated by the group. |
Frei stared at Ling's stomach, "Does it have a name?" she asked.
Laurel sighed, "It is a rather intimidating group," she agreed, "Why don't you grab a snack for now?" she suggested. |
"Not yet," Ling told Frei.
Fin sighed before walking over to some of the snacks. |
Frei was silent for a long moment, "Ju-Long," she suddenly stated.
|
Ling blinked at Frei.
|
Frei stared back into her eyes for a moment before glancing up at Sheng, "You have Pepper," she noted.
|
Sheng paused before replying, "She came to me."
|
Frei shrugged a little like it hadn't been a surprise to her, "She's a dragon too," she 'explained.'
As if by magic Pepper entered at the moment, wearing a dragon costume. She was topless and covered in shimmering scales with horns on her head. She walked in literally dragging Tusk behind her. |
Tusk wasn't dressed in costume, but looked as crabby as a dragon.
|
Pepper continued to drag him along.
Frei slowly raised an eyebrow as she saw the two of them, "Another Blaze?" she asked Sheng. |
Sheng didn't reply.
Blaze was still too busy eating to notice. |
Frei suddenly tugged on Sheng's sleeve.
Kale noticed, he frowned slightly, "You didn't say there were others," he told her quietly. |
So Sheng glanced at Frei.
"... O'der wha?" Blaze asked, mouth full of food. |
"Design them in the embryonic state," she stated, "It's too difficult afterward."
"... You," Kale muttered. Pepper's eyes fell on Blaze's back and she grinned pointing Blaze out to Tusk. |
"Them?" Sheng asked.
"Me?" Blaze asked, still not getting it as she kept her focus on the food. Tusk was only partially paying attention, not seeming too interested in interacting with Blaze. |
Frei was clearly questioning Sheng's intelligence. After a moment she glanced at Tusk.
"If he has more medication... we could extend your life," Kale suddenly realized, eyes focused on Tusk. "If only this was the real universe and we knew such information!" |
"Ah," Sheng replied as he followed Frei's glance. "I found them like that," he explained.
"He?" Blaze asked as she finally turned and blinked at Tusk. After another moment Tusk finally glanced over at her too. Then the two stared at each other across the room, a weird aura between them. |
Frei nodded, she knew he wasn't stupid enough to do things halfway.
"Hey now," Kale complained, "Don't go falling for him 'cause he's like you." |
Blaze didn't reply, still staring blankly at Tusk.
