The sight of Kareno's injuries game the dark-haired girl pause for a moment. "Uh, yeah, Tseng asked me to pick up some paperwork. The person who gave me directions said this was to thank you for cleaning her apartment... Kareno, are you alright? You look like the people who lose in Battle Square," she said worriedly. She let herself in and set the food down on a nearby table.

Mimi gaped after the light-haired young man and followed him. "Um, Gaia to Kareno, you've got bandages all over you! If you're hurt this bad, you should be recovering in bed!" she half-yelled. "Jeez, man, how many of those Upper Plate guys were there?!" She stopped then. She wasn't sure if she was meant to know that he had been beaten up. After all, it wasn't like she'd picked up the phone that morning when he'd called Tseng's office.

With that last sentence, things were beginning to fall together in Mimi's thoughts. She glared at the floor for a moment before taking the papers and putting them on the table next to the door. Facing away from him, she let out a sigh of frustration and said, "Ya know, that kind of attitude is really annoying."

She spun around to look at him with a stern expression. "Of course you're different from everyone else! If everyone were the same, things would get really boring really fast! So what if you have a few more idiosyncrasies than other people? It's not a bad thing. From the stories I've heard about your dad, weird runs through your veins like mako runs through the planet.

"Why not flaunt what makes you stand out instead of hiding it? If you keep berating and beating yourself up like this, it's like giving everyone else a free pass to do the same. Take my first day at ShinRa as an example. I tried to make myself appear to others as plain and normal as possible, and you saw how that worked out. I was absolutely miserable and wound up destroying something in search of comfort. Then in you came after seeing my little trip of weirdness and didn't give a chocobo's tail feathers about it. That made me really happy, so I haven't held back around you since then.

"If you'll just let loose and be weird every now and then, maybe you wouldn't get the snot beaten out of you. You'll probably feel a lot better, too. Keeping yourself bottled up like this is really bad for you. I mean, come on, just look at the commander. He looks all pristine and perfect, but he's probably taking about a dozen different medications for stress, high blood pressure, insomnia, migranes, and a whole slew of other problems. Do you get what I'm trying to say?"

Instead of waiting for a reply, she went over to the containers of food and began to open them up and smell the contents. "Hey, this stuff smells really good!"

"Awesome!" she said and started snooping through his cabinets for flatware and silverware. "So how about you tell me a bit about yourself while we eat? I'll tell you about myself, too, not that there's much to tell." She helped him carry the food over to the table and set it out so they could both reach everything.

"I'm actually not from Wutai. My dad was, though. I was born in Corel, which is where my mom lives. I do look a lot like my dad, though, so lots of people think I'm from Wutai," she said as she loaded her plate with food.

"I decided to become a Turk so that I could see the world. Up until a couple months ago, I'd worked at the Golden Saucer since I was old enough to get a job.I was also really tired of pervy old men feeling me up and not being allowed to do anything about it. I mean, mountain folk like me are made of some really tough stuff, but you can't lay the smack down on paying customers. It's bad for business."

She sighed in a half-frustrated manner and shoved some food into her mouth. With her mouth still half-full of food, she asked, "So, how long have you been training to be a Turk?"

"If you've been training for so long, how come you're not a full-fledged Turk by now? Or do you just not want to take the exams? 'Cause I can totally understand that," she said between mouthfuls. She glanced over his bandaged appearance again. A couple of spots were starting to look a little pink, but it didn't look like there were any grievous injuries.

"Sounds really unfair. It's probably because your dad's a Senior Turk, and second-in-command to boot," she said before taking a swig of her own glass of juice. "Well then, is there anything else you'd like to ask me?"

She thought about it for a minute before answering. "Well, I guess it really depends on the part of the city I'm in. Sectors 3 and 4 are alright as long as you don't get too nosy. Sector 5 is a scrapyard, and Wall Market in Sector Six is pretty much a nightmare in neon lighting. Above the Plate... it's a lot cleaner, but it's still not very people-friendly. Sure, there's not as much physical violence going down, but Plate folks are a whole different kind of mean," she said with a sour look.

She ate a few more bites before continuing. "It's not all bad, though. Even though there are no mountains to climb, it's a lot of fun exploring the inner workings of the Plate. All I really have to watch out for there is the occasional train if I get close to the central support tower.

"There's also the other Turk recruits. Some of 'em are right snobs, but most of 'em are alright from what I can tell. Those of us that are able to advance will probably get a lot closer since we'll be trusting each other with our lives."

Mimi shrugged and said, "Meh, it's fine. I doubt they'd let it happen anyway since you're at a different level in the program. So what's it like fighting Sephiroth? For that matter, what's it like in the training simulators? Newbies aren't allowed to use them until we pass the first examination." She finished her food with a satisfied sigh and smiled contentedly. "Wow, your neighbor is a great cook. Reminds me of the stuff we have at the potluck."

Mimi smiled and said, "Some water would be nice, or lemonade if you have it. Here, I'll help you clean up since I kinda barged in on ya." She stood up and grabbed what little leftovers there were to put in the refrigerator. "Are you sure you're going to be okay? I mean, you look better than you did when I walked in, but you're still a bit pale."

She graciously accepted the beverage and sniffed it before taking a sip. "You used a mix, yeah? It's kinda on the tart side," she said with a slight face. She picked up the stack of papers and noticed they were mission reports for Kareno's father. She raised a brow and asked, "You do your dad's paperwork for him? I'd heard stories about him being lazy, but really..." She finished the lemonade in a few more quick gulps and rinsed out the glass in the sink.

"Wow, your dad really is a bum," Mimi said with a small giggle. "You're lucky to have him, though. Don't worry about the lemonade; it's fine even without sweetener." She picked up the papers and headed to the front door. "Well, I'd better get going. I need to plan my grand entrance strategy for tomorrow. Getting past security in the morning without being detected is a nightmare."

"I think I'll do that," Mimi said with a grin. "I don't know why I didn't think of it before; the vent outlets are huge!" She opened the door and was about to head out, but stopped. "Oh, are you still down for the potluck tomorrow night? My landlady is eager to meet you."

"Sounds great! I'll stop by tomorrow when Tseng lets me leave for the day," Mimi said with a grin. "Take care of those injuries, alright?" She started walking down the hall, humming softly and swaying in time with the tune. She rode the elevator down to the first floor and caught the security guard messing with the knife she'd left with her phone. "Oi, what do you think you're doing?!" she shouted in Wutaian.

Mimi glared at the guard and said, "I asked what you were doing with my stuff. Did you go through my phone, too?" She set the paperwork on the security desk and signed the visitor sheet to check out. She put her knife into her pocket, glaring at the guard as she flipped open her phone and checked her messages.

The man didn't look at at her allowed her to walk out he didn't do much other then see what Turks got after all he was just lowly officer unlike all the ones who lived in the building. So it was normal but he always wanted to know what made them all so great. While walking down the street Reno place his hands behind his head passing Mimi not noticing him her.

The next morning, Mimi found her way back into Tseng's office with fresh coffee. She had a couple minutes to spare this time because she took Kareno's advice about the vents. She'd even had time to put Kareno's paperwork into Tseng's inbox, though she had almost gotten caught in the office common area.

She gazed about the Turk Commander's office, taking it in and pondering about how quickly ShinRa was re-establishing itself since the incidents with Meteor and those immediately following it. She had heard about how the company had all but disappeared with the fall of Midgar, but now it was back on its feet again. Had it really been only two decades since its collapse?

The light red haired teen was up and moving around knowing he shouldn't be but he could lose any more time also he needed to do a check up. Since he was under servalince more then normal which was something he was used to. Quickly running out of his home grabbing his jacket. The teen flew down the stairs out the doors his long rat tail could be seen before the door has shut. Running down the street quickly he hop over holes grabbed on to poles getting over things. He was strong and he was agile like his father, the other half of him he was not so sure about. The pain was a bit of bother but soon, the blue eyed teen made it to building a grin crossed his face as he figured he may as well take what he could

Making his way up the stairs, the teen went into the building the first was first the doctors floor which he hated going to but it was needed. Running across the lobby, he ducked into the closing elevator doors and nodded to who all was in it.
