Looking about again, she realized they were deep in the park, near-ish to the lake. Being feline, she wasn't a huge fan of water, but she wouldn't shriek and run like a maniac from it, either.
"You seemed to have led us here like you come here often..." |
Nods to her "I do.. and I thought I should bring you here." he looks at her with a smile. "It's a good place, very peaceful, I think you will enjoy it as I have, and it is a good place to get away from everything."
|
Grinning playfully, she gave him a sly look, moving from his side to turn and face him in the near-darkness.
"Also hides you from the general public for any naughtiness, doesn't it?" |
Grins, leading her along into the trees and closer to the body of water "That it does.." he turns to look at her. "So, where are you staying while you are here? I think I would like to spend more time with you after tonight.."
|
Sitting in the grass where they stopped, she patted the ground beside her.
"I'm boarding at a place called Madame's. Have you heard of it?" |
Smiles sitting next to her as he nods. "Yes actually, it caused a small uproar when it opened. No idea why.." he grinned. "I'm just staying at one of the motels around here... in a not so nice area. It might be a bad neighborhood but it is cheap." he scoots close to her, with another smile, enjoying her company.
|
Laughing, she gave him a look.
"So, cheap is better than safe? Or is this a man thing?" She couldn't help offering a smile at the last. |
Smiles with a shrug "It's just what I can afford right now, and I know how to take care of myself. You figure, if I get attacked, it's a free meal every time if I needed the blood that badly."
|
Tilting her head back and forth in consideration, she finally nodded.
"You do have a point there. So, if you're low on funds, what are you doing with me? I am, after all, an escort. We tend to get paid for our services." She smiled at him again as she said it. |
Smiles "I'll worry about that later, I'm concerned with the here and now at the moment. Right now I'm just focusing on enjoying your company in this nice place." he did enjoy her company very much, and wasn't worried right now about paying for it, if he had to at all.
|
Harrumphing to herself, she just smiled and shook her head.
"Last time I was told that, I got stiffed. However, in this case, I wasn't hired, I was approached like any other woman. So, we'll see. You're still on the fence in my book." She added a warm smile at the end to let him know she wasn't put-out by his company. On the contrary, she was enjoying it. |
Grins at her "You should be treated like that instead of a business proposition. I'm having a very nice night in your company so far." he stares off at the body of water, enjoying the sound of the light breeze.
|
Nodding in appreciation at him, she gently placed her paw on his hand.
"Thank you for that. Truly." Looking out over the water as well, she let her tail thump softly in the grass, the verdant blades slightly muffling the musical lilt of her jewelry. |
Smiles at her, nodding, just sitting there with her in the night.
|
Sighing softly, she closed her eyes and listened to the spring peepers making their music down by the water.
"I've always loved that sound... So peaceful. It's how you know summer's upon us..." |
<stupid double-posting...>
|
Snugs her as they both rest peacefully with the sounds of the night. "Same here. I could fall asleep listening to the sounds, so peaceful..."
|
Pressing softly against him, she tried persuading him to lay back in the cool grass so they could look up at the stars easier.
"It really is. It's too bad most humans don't appreciate nature more." |
Lays with her, comfortable in the grass, snuggling with her as they watch the stars in peace. "That's exactly why I like the wilder places of the world, away from cities, the places more in tune with nature. Cities can be depressing."
|
Nodding, she looked over at him, her red hair in a fiery halo around her fuzzy grey face.
"I agree. Although, I have to be in the city to make my living." |
Smiles at her "Good point there.. I guess the city does serve some purpose then. Well, it does make it easier to hunt, in more than one way.." he grins at her.
|
Grinning, she nodded.
"Indeed, so." Looking back up at the sky, she pointed out a bat flitting about above them. "Friend of yours?" |
Sits up suddenly "Friend? No..." suddenly on guard and fully aware. "This isn't good.." he stands up and reaches to help her up as well, moving to take her to the shelter of the trees, watching the thought to be bat with his full attention.
|
Blinking, she let him pull her into the trees.
"What's the matter?" |
Looks to her then up again "It isn't a bat , I think it may be someone that's after me."
|
Blinking, she looked back to the little fluttering thing.
"It doesn't -look- dangerous." Leaning against the tree, she was a little concerned, but was happy he was there to 'protect' her. |
Looks at her with a brief smile "Looks can always be deceiving." the moment he said it there was a small 'whoosh' and a dark figure landed on the ground a little ways from them, heading towards them."
|
Blinking, she looked toward their new arrival. The man was tall but not imposingly so. She hoped there wouldn't be trouble.
|
The man rushes in a brisk walk, paper clenched in his fist, expression of malice. He rushes up to Sveinn and shoves a piece of paper at him.
Blinks "Are you serious? I'm being served." looks over the paper. "...for indiscretion of vampiric activities and hunting and revealing said nature to mortals?!" takes the paper, ripping it to shreds, ending with a bright smile at the deliverer. Good day to you sir." waves him off. |
Blinks between the two, unsure as to what to say.
"...Really?" |
At the ripping of the papers, the stranger glares and reaches for a cellphone, turning his back and dialing, muttering a word then hanging up and he walks away, disappearing.
Sveinn blinks and nods to Kitt "Now I'm definitely worried." |
Blinking again, she watched the man walk off.
"Really...? You can be served? How... odd." |
Nods "News to me as well. I wasn't aware of this insanity."
|
Raising an eyebrow, she put one paw on the tree above her head, and one just to the side of her back, looking out into the night, just over his shoulder.
"Crazy. Just crazy." |
Nods, pulling her back with him to lay down in the grass once more.
|
Giggles, flopping down onto the grass with him, curling close, wrapping one leg over his and laying her head on his chest.
"You're just going to ignore it?" |
Puts an arm around her resting his chin against her head. "I'm going to do some checking around tomorrow.. before I do anything. It doesn't feel right.."
|
"I've never heard of something like that. But then, if you ask the general population at large, vampires don't exist so..."
Purring softly, she began tracing small circles on his chest with a fingernail. |
Nods "Yeah. It's just... you know?" he smiles at her tracing circles along his chest. He rubs her back softly.
|
Sighing softly, she twitched an ear and listened to the crickets start chirping again.
"He must be gone now. The bugs are back in full force." |
