Renee smirked, "You are way to good at this." She jumped backwards to catch her sabre. She smacked the blades together in the shape of an 'X'. She ran at Sanai when she reached her she swung the sabre at Sanai's feet while simultaneously she sung the Kukri at Sanai's neck.
Sanai quickly sheathed both weapons doing a backflip to get some distance from the sabre as it came at her feet. When she was on her feet again, the sabre had already finished it's sweep, but the Kukri was still on it's way for her neck. She quickly pushed her legs out, doing a perfect split while she grabbed her own sword again, bringing it up to send the thin blade through the tiny hole by the Kukri's hilt. She used what little force she could gather in such an awkward position and pulled the blade to the left, trying to twist it so she could force Renee down.
Renee smiled as she moved the Kukri up a hair and she twisted her wrist to the right. Countering Sanai's pulling it to the left. After a moment she heard a 'chink', she twisted her wrist to the right harder. She dropped the sabre and grabbed the Rapier blade that was flying in the air with her now free hand. In one swift movement she drove the Rapier blade down towards Sanai's leg.
Sanai was not surprised to find her blade broken so swiftly, it was old and in need of being replaced. Her Foresight broke through her block at the moment her blade was snapped in half, allowing her to see the blade coming down at her leg before Renee had actually done so. Just as Renee was bringing it down, she had already rolled to her side, then rolled backwards away from Renee, pausing a few feet away. She did a quick kip-up to get to her feet, drawing her knife, standing ready. "Very nice. You almost had me." Her eyes returned to blue as she watched Renee, blocking her Foresight again.
Suddenly, a black shafted and fletched arrow pierced Sanai's forehead; dead center at that. The owner of the black bow lowered her weapon, her ice eyes narrowed slightly as Sanai fell back, "No cheating Sanai." She shook her head a bit, quickly sliding the bow in the black leather holder on her hip, "I'm sorry to interrupt you two Renee, but the Major General and I need to talk." |
The Rapier blade jammed into the ground, slicing her hand wide open. She shook it as it healed instantly. She picked up her sabre and sheathed it, "Indeed I was." She was just about to run at Sanai when a black arrow pierced Sanai's skull. She turned around as she heard the voice behind her, she bowed her head slightly. "Of course Aliyah." She sheathed the Kukri as she disappeared.

Sanai quickly flipped to her feet moments later, her eyes narrowed and glowing red as she tore the arrow from her skull, the wound healing in seconds. "I didn't cheat...it slipped. You know I cannot control that." She held the arrow for a moment, before using telekinesis to launch it at dangerous speeds back to Aliyah. "What do you want dearest sister?" She spoke the last two words with an intense level of sarcasm.
Aliyah caught the arrow with her left hand, her own eyes glowing red as well. It was obvious the two were related, and sisters at that. They looked like they could be twins, but in truth, Aliyah was younger than Sanai by 50 years. Talk about a gap in age. "Now if you don't mind, come with me." She placed the arrow in the quiver, then crossed her arms over her chest. Sanai sheathed what remained of her sword, placing her hands on her hips, "I don't think so, civilian. I have a pretty important mission coming up tomorrow night and I need to finish my preparations. I will contact you for us to talk at my convenience...alright?" Aliyah growled, her eyes darkening, "Dammit Sanai, we need to discuss this now! I know you know what I'm talking about. I'm sick of you treating that poor man like a dirty dish rag." She narrowed her eyes, her skin appearing to become paler, "Let's go. Now" Sanai shook her head bringing her hand up to her chin and bringing it out in a stiff motion, "I don't care what any of you say, I will not have anything to do with Luscious. You got to pick, and so shall I. Now leave me alone, Renee and I have to finish the paperwork..." |
Renee sighed as she landed in her room, she quickly undid her sabre and her Kukri from her hips. She laid the on her bed as she sat down next to them. "I was so close..." She shook her head. "I wonder why Aliyah was so angry..." Now she could of easily read more into Aliyah's emotion's, but she didn't like to go invading people's privacy like that. She flopped back onto her bed, "And now to wait." She closed her red eyes.
Aliyah appeared standing in front of Sanai, placing her finger on Sanai's chest and prodding her hard, "I'm sick of you pushing the line off on me. You know that it is the responsibly of both of us to continue our line. I don't give a damn about your stupid army and your stupid war, I will not be the only one involved with this issue! You are apart of the family, whether you like it or not. Now act like it." With that, she disappeared.
Sanai growled as her sister touched her, swatting her hand away. Before she could respond, the silver haired look a-like was gone. She let out another growl, teleporting herself to Renee's room, "I tell you that woman is worse than Manco!" She clenched her fists, throwing the sheathe of her rapier lightly at Renee, "You owe me a new sword by the way." She grinned a bit, "And nothing cheap." |
Renee sat up as she felt Sanai appear, she caught the Rapier sheath. "I'm sorry Sanai." She frowned. "Fine, I will buy you a new one. I just need to go and change." She stood up and went to her closet. She picked out some clothes and walked into the bathroom. About five minutes later she came out wearing her civilian clothing. She looked up at Sanai with green eye's, "I miss wearing skirts." She twirled. "I will be back shortly." She nodded and waited for Sanai's ok.
"I twas bound to break at some point, don't worry about it. Maybe a Sabre...something with a bit more strength." She crossed her arms and sat down on one of the chairs. "I expect you back here in no more than 3 hours, though I doubt you'll be longer than that. We must get the mundane paperwork filled out once you return."
"Don't worry I will be back in fifteen, twenty minutes, tops." Renee smiled. "We will Sanai." She nodded as she disappeared.
Renee reappeared twenty minutes later holding a silver sabre. "Told you I would be back shortly." She winced as her arm reset. |
Sanai stood, hearing the cracking of resetting bones, "What happened Renee?" She went over to her, examining her over, "You didn't steal it..did you? No of course not.."
"I have never stolen... I would never steal a weapon." Renee handed the silver sabre to Sanai. "There kind of was a rouge vampire that attacked me as I came out of the sword shop. But before I could do anything the damn guy broke my arm and then LTG Waldemar showed up." She sighed. "After he disposed of the man he told me that I can't tell any person lower then Brigadier General. Why is that?" She looked up at the silver hared woman as her eyes turned back to their normal red.
Sanai removed the blade from the sheath, examining it, "I can't quite tell you without his, or the Board's permission. Not even former BG Manco really knew." She gently swung the sword through the air, getting a feel for it's weight before sheathing it and clipping it to her belt. "I'm surprised he only broke your arm before the LTG got there..Rouges are very dangerous. You'll be fine for the mission I assume? A broken arm is rather minor."
"Ya I'll be fine. I'm just pissed that I couldn't sense him before he attacked me." Renee sighed. "I'll just be happy when we can go back to our somewhat normal lives." She ran her hand through her hair. "We should probably get going on the paperwork."
"You and me both, Renee. I will...miss this however; the killing is rather enjoyable. I don't think things will ever return to 'normal' though..humans will always be aware of us now and they will not like that they are no longer 'top of the food chain'." She shrugged, heading over to the door, "Come on, I just need to get a few things signed then we'll be ready for tomorrow."
"Killing is enjoyable." Renee nodded. "They never were 'top of the food chain'. Even before the first vampires, then again no one knows when the first vampires were created or born." She sighed. She walked over to Sanai, "That will be fun." She rubbed her hands together. "If I can ask, what did your sister want to talk to you about?" She stopped a little ways away from Sanai.
"Well, in their eyes, they were and no one was going to tell them otherwise..until we came about." Sanai paused mid-step, looking back at Renee, "She doesn't find it 'ethically correct' for the responsibility for the continuation of the Zontini family be rest solely on her." She shrugged, continued forward and down the halls to where her office resided. "Personally, I don't care what she thinks. I have more important things to worry about than our family tree."
"I see..." Renee trailed off looking to the floor as she followed Sanai. "Look at it this way at least you have help." She frowned as she stopped walking. She pulled out a slightly crumpled picture from her pocket. Damn rouges... She sighed looking at the picture. She glanced up and saw Sanai was close to her office.
She shrugged, "I suppose..but I wish she'd just leave me alone. It's not like I'm going to 'expire' anytime soon." She held her hand over the ornate lock, and after a few seconds, it clicked and the door propped open. She pushed it the rest of the way, glancing back to Renee, tilting her head, "What's that?"
Renee jumped slightly, "A picture." She looked up to the taller woman, her red eyes twinkled with sadness. She slowly walked over to Sanai to hand her the picture, she handed the picture over. "That is... was my..." She trailed off as she looked to the floor. "...son..."
Sanai gently took the picture from Renee, and frowned, "I'm sorry..." She handed it back, placing her hand on the shorter vampire's shoulder, "..he looks like he was a very good person.." After a moment she removed her hand and headed into her office. She grabbed a small stack of papers, handing them to Renee, "These are yours...weapon request/permission forms for the LTG to sign...I put down my signature for approval already, but you need to sign to verify you read them then hand them to him." She grabbed a much smaller folder for herself, "I'll give you a few minutes to read them over..please read carefully..the rules for you are a bit different now."
Renee sweetly grabbed the picture, "He was... a lot like his dad. Sweet, kind, and caring." She chuckled sweetly. "Jesse did everything he could to make me laugh or smile. Which was very easy." She smiled as she put the picture back into her pocket. She walked into Sanai's office and grabbed the papers. She went to the small desk that Sanai had given her. She started reading over the paperwork as she sat down.
Suddenly a dark gray cat appeared on Sanai's desk, it meowed and jumped to the floor. Within moments the LTG was standing in the middle of the room. He put his hands up, one facing Sanai and the other facing the starting to stand up Renee. "At ease you two." He smiled. "I hear you need me to sign a few things." He sighed as he heard footsteps. "Damn woman..." He trailed off looking to the door. |
Sanai glanced up to the door, watching it as it slammed shut and locked. She had a special telekinetic shield and lock in place around this room. Not even the Council could break in with their combined effort. "Indeed we do." She looked back to Waldemar, handing him her folder, "It's just the same old protocol crap...You would think vampires would not need such a system, but here we are, operating as the humans once did...do.."
Michael chuckled as the door closed, "Thank you, I just dealt with her ten minutes ago..." He trailed off as he grabbed the folder from Sanai. He quickly glanced over the papers, "Ya I find it ironic as well." A pen appeared in his hand. He quickly signed the papers and put the folder under his arm.
Renee went back to reading and signed the papers. She stood and walked over to the LTG and handed him the folder. "Here you go sir." She smiled. He grabbed the folder and signed the papers, "There we go. I will take these to the council for you." He looked to Sanai. "And little miss Renee, you needn't be so sad all the time. I know we are in hell here, but try to smile ok?" He looked back to Renee and smiled. He put his hand on her shoulder, "Now if you ever need to talk you know where to find me." He removed his hand and nodded a goodbye to the two women and disappeared. "I'll try sir, and I know." Renee nodded as the LTG disappeared. |
Sanai nodded, "Thank you very much, Sir." She looked to Renee, "We're to leave in about..15 hours. Did you want to practice some more or shall I come hunt you down later?"
Renee ran her hand through her hair, "I need some time alone to think... So Just come and track me down." She nodded and waited for Sanai.
She nodded, "Of course." After a moment, she disappeared. She would occupy herself somehow. Maybe she'd get herself a midnight snack. Yes, that sounds delightful~ She brought herself to one of the many cities that had been rebuilt and claimed a sort of..peace with the vampires. This would be a good spot to hunt; no hunters and a few humans would be more than willing to feel the oddly seductive sensation of her drinking their blood. She never really understood why they enjoyed it so much, but it didn't bother her any.

Renee walked out of her bathroom her arm covered in blood, her own. She laid down on her bed and covered her eyes with her non bloody arm. On her bloody arm was multiple profanities in foreign languages. "This is the least I deserve.." She spoke to herself knowing Sanai would be arriving soon to get her. She made sure her healing didn't heal the wounds... yet... |
Sanai had long since returned to the House after her meal a few hours ago. She paused, setting the thick ledger down on the desk as she smelled blood. Renee's. She frowned, What is she doing? With a sigh, she brought herself to Renee, her hand already grabbing the girl's wrist as she appeared. She lifted it up, reading the profanities. "Renee..." She looked at the girl with a slightly worried look, "why?"
Renee sighed as Sanai grabbed her arm and asked why, "I couldn't help them..." She trailed off. She kept her arm over her eyes, she didn't want to look at Sanai because she could feel the concern and disappointment rolling off of her. "He was still a child... He didn't turn fully yet..." She trailed off as she clenched her fists driving her nails into her skin.
Sanai frowned, moving her hands to grab Renee's as she sat next to her on the bed, gently pulling her fingers away from her hands, "Renee, you did everything you could..." She sighed a bit, using a bit of power to heal Renee's left arm, "I don't doubt that in the slightest. I'm sorry, but my best advice for you is to move on...you can't change the past.."
Renee let Sanai heal her wounds, "Other than what I told you, what do you know about me?" She turned her left arm over to grab Sanai's arm. She didn't wait for Sanai to answer she started to show Sanai her personal history. The images and such started to slow down and came to a complete stop, a silver hared man was the image. "My husband..." She smiled slightly. "He was always smiling, no matter what." She chuckled. "I could never stay mad at him. Then again those brown eyes always made me melt." She sighed. "The one day he didn't take his clunky spear with him..." She trailed off as the flash back of that day started...
Sanai furrowed her brow, tempted to push Renee from her mind. She did not appreciate the girl just helping herself in and showing her these images; yet she wanted to understand Renee. "Renee.." She sighed, taking her hand from Renee's right and holding her left with both hands now, "I know this brings you great pain, but you don't have to show me...I don't want you to force yourself if you'd rather not."
"Your my friend Sanai, I want you to understand why I'm... weird... It..." Renee trailed off as she was back twenty five years in the past.
A blondish brown hared boy walked into a giant study, "Mom? I know your in here." He smiled as he looked around the corner. He felt a tab on his shoulder and he turned around. "That is not fair." He chuckled as he gave the short light pink hared woman a hug. A short pink hared woman landed very quietly behind the boy, she tapped his shoulder. She hugged the boy back, "Well dear very soon you will be able to sneak up on me." She smiled as she brushed the hair from his eyes. "Jesse did you have plans for tonight?" She laced her fingers behind her back. "I was going to go with dad to get a few... school supplies." The boy known as Jesse smiled. "Your a liar~" The woman's tone was in singsong as she rocked back and forth on her heels. "Oh I know what your doing... Your going to go and get me a birthday present. It's no big deal I'm just going to be 358 years old." She giggled. "I'm not lying." The boy's face got slightly red. "That's not..." He got cut off by a taller man in the doorway. The silver hared man sighed as he cut off the boy, "Renee stop picking on our son." The man smiled as he walked over to the woman. "I'm not picking on him, I am just trying to get the truth. I feel the deceit rolling off of him." She smiled as she turned around to look at the man. "Don't give me those eyes Alexander." She narrowed her eyes slightly. The man known as Alexander wrapped his arms around Renee's waist, "I'm not giving you anything." He winked at the boy. "Now behave while we go and get some school supplies." He pulled the woman's chin up and place a deep kiss on her lips. Renee frowned slightly as the man broke the kiss, "Fine I'll stay here. Just don't forget your spear." She nodded to the corner. The man let go of Renee, "We will be fine." He smiled as he waved the boy to him. When boy was close enough he put his arm around the boy's neck as well as his other hand over the boys eyes. He mouthed "Love you." as he disappeared. The man and the boy landed in an alley, "What did you want to get your..." He trailed off as he felt an odd presence, but he shook it off. "I don't know dad. What do you get a mother that has been around for over 350 years?" The boy shrugged as he headed out of the alley. About twenty minutes later the man and boy walked out of a store carrying a huge bag. The man stopped dead in his tracks and snarled. "Run home now!" He handed the bag to the boy as he reached for his spear, which he forgot to grab. Before he could teleport it to himself he got sent backwards with a huge blast of TK. The boy nodded and started to run away. He got sent forward and smashed into the sidewalk breaking his arm. He rolled around in pain. A white hared man landed a few feet away from Alexander in a crouched position. His red eyes glowing as he looked down at the man. He smiled evilly, his long fangs were glistening in the sunlight. Alexander sprang to his feet and manipulated the minerals in the concrete into a sword. He swung it a few times as he got used to the weight of the 'sword'. "Let's go rouge." He ran at the white hared man. The white hared man went to his hands, he waited until the man was close enough. He leaned back on his hands and drove his feet into the man's chest. Alexander blocked as best as he could but still got sent backwards. He growled as he dusted off his shirt, he sent a blast of fire at the white hared man. The white hared man jumped in the air and dodged the fire, he flipped in the air and landed behind Alexander. He wrapped his arms around Alexander's neck and snapped it. Before Alexander fell to the ground he jammed his hand into Alexander's back and ripped out his heart. He let Alexander go and let his lifeless body fall to the ground. Renee fell off of the couch she was sitting on as she felt Alexander die. "A-..Alex?!" Tears started running down her cheeks. She tried to gather up her power to teleport to Jesse, but her emotions weren't letting her. Jesse's eyes went wide as he saw his dad fall to the ground dead. "No!" He started crawling backwards as best as he could with one arm. The white hared man turned as he heard the boy speak, he smiled deeply as he slowly made his way over to the boy. When he made it to the boy he grabbed the boy's collar and brought him to his feet. He opened his mouth and licked his fangs, just before he jammed them into the boys neck. Renee fell to her side and went into the fetal position as she felt the life drain from Jesse. Renee let go of Sanai and rubbed her eyes with her arm... {54.68 Au bish} |
Sanai frowned slightly, but other than that she appeared to be unaffected by the memory, "You are not weird Renee...: She sighed a bit, looking away. She really didn't know what to say to the girl...if there was anything she could say at that.
"Yes I am." Renee sighed. "W-..we should go." She removed her arm from her eyes and sat up. "I'm sorry if this is out of place but..." She trailed off as she gave Sanai a hug. She let go after a moment, "Again I'm sorry." She looked down at the bed.
Sanai put her arm around Renee, returning the hug, "It's fine, don't worry about it." She stood, pulling Renee up with her, "Are you sure you still want to go? I can postpone it for a day or so if you want."
