Alicia nodded and went to stand in the drive way so that she could stop any one that came down to see what was going on. She knew Holden would scream, setting a bone is very painful, even more so for a human. She put a telekinetic bubble around Holden's head so they wouldn't attract attention.
Holden was still in a little bit of shock when Solomon picked him up and put his on the bench. "What is he gonna do?" Holden asked himself as he felt a large amount of pressure in his arm. He didn't wanna scream, as soon as his bones started moving then he started to scream. It was very painful. When Solomon was done Holden put his head down with a tear coming from his eye. "That really hurt." He said turning to the side away from Solomon and bringing his knees up to his chest. Alicia almost started crying as she felt Holden's pain. "That was marvelous. I've been wanting to do it for years, she's an abusive bitch." She said so only Solomon could hear her. She sighed "Fine, take away my fun." She said with a slight pout. She turned to look at Holden. "Holden." She said running over to him. "You don't always have to hold your knees, you can cry you know. I would never think any less of you." She said wiping the tear that he did have away. |
"I'm sorry I couldn't do anything for the pain.."Solomon frowned, sitting next to him, "Holden..." He gently placed his hand on the boy's shoulder, unsure of what to say or do. He glanced to Alicia, hoping for a hint.
|
Alicia sighed. "Holden tell him, I think it will make things a little bit easier for you." She said looking him dead in the eyes.
Holden put his chin on his knees, looking at Alicia. "Do you think he's ready?" He asked with sadness in his voice. "Honey he just told you his biggest secret, I think he's ready. Also you told me before you knew my secret." She said with a smile. She put her index finger on his forehead reading his mind for what happened after he called her. "Oh she is going down." She said only so Solomon could hear her. "Tell him Holden." She said with red eyes. "Ok here goes." He said taking in a big breath. "As long as I can remember my mother has physically and mentally abused me. It started out little like slapping me, to hitting me with something. Or calling me stupid to saying I'm a faggot." He said taking another breath. "I've tried to tell my dad but I couldn't break his heart like that, especially since I know he's proud of me. If she finds out that I left tonight its gonna be the lamp next." He said hiding his face in his knees. "Shhh Holden it's ok." She said rubbing his head. "It goes two slaps, the lamp, a pan, a push down the stairs, and then we don't know because the last time it got to that he was unconscious for two weeks." She said to Solomon with telepathy. |
Solomon was just seething as he listened to Holden. He was not one to lash out irrationally with his power, but sometimes it just could not be helped. Suddenly the tree nearest to the table was split down the center, the two halves of the trunk falling loudly to the ground; not to mention the cracking of the trunk itself was extremely loud. He was silent for a long time, unable to speak from anger.
The air around them also began to get colder, quickly dropping to 23 degrees F. "Alicia...you do know what I'm going to do next..don't you.." He held Holden close, his eyes bright red as he looked to Alicia, then back to Holden, "Holden, you're coming with me. You will stay at my place from now on, where she cannot find you. I will grab your things once everyone is asleep; perhaps I'll bring Alicia with me, and be in and out before they notice. We will talk to your dad about this tomorrow though, he has to know Holden." He stood, bringing Holden up with him, still keeping him close as the air temperature returned to normal. "We should go, I'm sure someone noticed the tree.." |
Holden jumped thinking something bad was happening. He felt the air get very cold.
"I do but you have to promise me you wont hurt his mother without me." She said her eyes as red as Solomon's. His eye's widened when Solomon said that they will tell his dad tomorrow. "No, no I can't tell him, it would break his heart. I can't do that to him." He said pushing Solomon away. "Holden! You have to tell him, for you, your dad will survive. I'm not sure if you will. She knows you left Holden." Alicia said wanting to say it gently. "No! Please god no!" Holden yelled falling to the ground shaking. "No next is the lamp, no no no no no no no" He said grabbing his head rocking back and forth on the ground. "Holden listen to me, she will not hurt you if she does I will kill her. Do you understand?" She asked raising her voice a little bit so he could hear her over his freak out. "No not my ribs mom please." He said grabbing his abdomen. "Holden please listen to me, you WILL be fine." She said lifting Holden's head up. Holden was to far into his memories to hear Alicia. He was going through the steps. Slap, slap, lamp, pan, stairs, unconscious. "No please no." He said trying to grab his knees. "Holden no, I can't let you do that." Alicia said holding his knees down. She moved and straddled Holden's legs. "Holden look at me," She grabbed his head again. "You WILL BE FINE." She said putting her forehead on his. She closed her eyes and concentrated, she started to clear Holden's mind to get him to settle down. She lifted her head from his, "Holden? Are you Ok?" She asked looking at Solomon. |
Solomon was forced to let Holden go. He frowned deeply, but let Alicia take care of it. Afterall Holden was more comfortable with Alicia due to their relationship. "Alicia...take him somewhere safe..I need to have a few words with his parents..."
Suddenly Solomon disappeared, not really caring if he was seen. He then reappeared just outside the hosiptal and stormed inside. He had no need to ask were Mrs. Evans was being held. He had are mind located when he was still at the park. He stormed into the room they were having her recover in, his arms crossed and his eyes still red and glowing brightly. He was unaware of the fact that Amanbda and his father were in the room. |
"I will but do don't kill her with out me. You should be able to find us." She said helping Holden up. "Let's go Holden." She said walking him to her car. She opened the passenger door and helped him in. She grabbed her phone out of her pocket as she shut the door. She dialed a number. "Hey daddy? Can you do me a favor? Can you come to the park and pick Holden's car up and have the car painted a different color for me?" She asked as she got into the car.
"Sure you will tell me what's going on later right?" Her dad asked. "It depends, I can say something will possibly go down." She said as hung up the phone. "Holden are you ok?" She asked starting the car. "I'm so sorry dad." He said with a tear. "Shh Holden it will be ok." Alicia said as she drove away. "You!" Holden's mom yelled when she saw Solomon. "How dare you bring your disgusting self into my hospital room." She said trying to sit up. "Who are you?" Holden's dad asked still very angry at his wife. "This is the whore that made our son gay." She said. "He look's like a very nice man," He walked over to the man. "Hello sir I'm Steven Evans, Holden's father." He said with a smile as he extended his hand. "I'm glad my son has found someone who is very nice." He said still proud of Holden. |
Solomon narrowed his eyes at the woman but soon he noticed the other two in the room. His eyes became blue once more and he turned to face Steven. He smiled shaking the man's hand, "Pleasure. Name's Solomon. If you don't mind sir, can I speak with Evelin alone? I promise I won't stress her.
He gave Steve his most charming smile. It also helped that he was manipulating his mind to agree and leave. As for the not stressing her out..well..that might be a lie. He turned to look back at Evelin, his eyes a reddish blue and a dark expression was on his face. |
Steven nodded. "Pfft stress her I don't care." he said waving his hand. "Let's go Amanda." He said holding out his hand for her. "Have fun Evelin." He said closing the door.
"You son of a bitch how dare you say that?" She yelled as Steven walked out the door. "If you touch me I'll call the police." She said pulling up the blankets. "You corrupted my son." She said very angered. "You turned him into an abomination to God." She said as she spat at Solomon. |
Solomon sighed running his hand through his hair, "I don't need to touch you to accomplish my goal." He moved his head to the side, the wad of salivia whizzing past him. "And even if you were to call the police, they wouldn't believe such an ignorant cold hearted bitch. They would send her to a mental hospital where she would be frequently visited by a tall black haired demon with red eyes." his eyes turned by red as they narrowed.
After a few moments of glaring silently at her he spoke again, "I am taking Holden with me where you can no longer hurt him. I will also be speaking with Steve about your treatment of the boy. Not only that, you will then be written out of the will and divorced with not a penny to your name. And I swear to you," suddenly he was standing right next to her his face hovering by her ear, "if you ever lay a hand on that wonderful man again, I will kill you. Don't tempt my wrath woman. I'm not past hitting a female." and with that he disappeared, reappearing next to Alicia. |
Evelin sat there wide eyed and scared. "No he can't find out about that." She said looking to where the man used to stand.
"Solomon, what did you do?" Alicia asked as he appeared next to her. She looked at Holden. "He's doing better but he hasn't said a complete sentence." She said hoping now that Solomon was there Holden would be ok. "I am very worried about him, I have seen him bad but never this bad." She said looking at Solomon. She stood up and walked over to the bed and sat down in front of Holden. "Holden? Solomon is here." She said brushing his hair out of his face. "Solomon?" Holden said weakly. "I'm sorry." He said as he went into the fetal position. |
Solomon spoke only so Alicia could hear him, "Nothing. I will be talking to Steve in a few though. I just wanted to check on Holden." He then sat next to him, pulling him close ina hug, "For what ? You've done nothing wrong."
|
"Mr. Evans is a nice man, but no offense I'm not sure if he will believe an almost complete stranger." Alicia said only so Solomon could hear her.
"That I got you involved in my problems." Holden said looking away. "Holden it's not your fault, I think this was fate that you two met." Alicia said with a smile. Holden looked up at Solomon. "I really like you Solomon." He said with big brown eyes. He looked at Alicia, "You two said something to each other before you came over here on the bed." Holden said looking back and forth from Alicia to Solomon. "What did you say? Please tell me the truth." He said reaching for his knees. |
Solomon shook his head to Alicia lowering his tones for her ears only, "I will make him believe and I will force her to tell the truth. One way or another." He then spoke so Holden could hear, "She asked me what I did. I just had a nice little chat with your mother, and she will be leaving you alone from now on. That's all." He smiled, giving Holden a quick kiss. "And you needn't worry about that. I'd do anything to make you happy Holden."
|
Holden sat there after Solomon kissed him. "Oh no you just made her madder." He said grabbing his knees. "She's gonna skip a step, no please no." He said rocking back and forth.
"Just bring him here, he will see Holden like this and he will believe you." She said so only Solomon could hear her. "Holden she wont lay a finger on you, she doesn't know where you are." She said trying to calm him down again. "No she'll find out she always does." He said hugging his knees harder to himself. "Slap, slap, lamp, pan, stairs, unconscious." He said with his face in his knees. "She needs to be dealt with, I don't like seeing him like this." She said so only Solomon could hear her. |
Solomon stood, so his back was to Holden as he spoke quietly to Alicia, "I will not tolerate her abuse to him anymore." He ran his hands through his hair, going to the other side of the room then faced Holden, "Holden, she cannot find you here. She has no way of knowing where we are. The first place she's going to have checked by the police is my apartment, which will be empty and then she'll be at a loss."
With a sigh, he could tell Holden was past listening to logic, "I'm sorry.." He gathered up some power and knocked Holden unconscious. He then turned to Alicia, "When she gets sent home...you and I will be talking with her. For now, I'm going to go intercept his father..he's on his way back up to the room" And then he vanished. He appeared around a corner, and stepped away just as Steve came around the corner. His face was serious and his hands in his pockets, "We need to talk Steve.." |
"I'm not gonna do much talking with her, I will kill her." Alicia said as Solomon disappeared. She quickly covered Holden up and went to get him some food. "I hope he will be hungry when he wakes up he hasn't eaten all day." She said making sure the hotel room was locked.
"Oh jeez, you scared me Solomon." Steven said with a smile. "What's wrong is Holden ok?" Steve asked very worried. |
Solomon smiled apologetically, "Sorry, and..well..I don't think she needs to hear this..think you could leave her with Evelin?" He glanced down to the girl, knowing she'd be okay. Evelin probably thought she could never do any wrong.
|
"No, I can't but my sister is in the family waiting room. I can have her watch her, but first is this about Holden?" He asked worried.
|
Solomon nodded, "It is..I know I'm only a stranger, but I'm hoping you can still believe me." "Is Holden still out Ali? He's going to be very upset with me when he wakes up." He lifted his left hand from his pocket, running it through his hair, "I'll meet you right here, alright?"
|
"I will listen to you." He walked by Solomon. "I will be back in a second." He said walking to the elevator. "I hope Holden is ok." He thought to himself as he got in the elevator.
"He's coming around actually, and I don't think he will be. I think he wont remember." She said sitting on the bed. |
"If you can convince him that he stressed himself unconscious, I would greatly appreciate it." He leaned up on the wall waiting for Steve to return.
|
"He might already think that but I will do everything in my power to have him think that." Alicia said feeling Holden's head.
After a few minutes Steven made his way back to Solomon. "So what's wrong with Holden and I want the full truth Solomon." Steven said crossing his arms. |
"I would never lie to you Steve..walk with me." He led Steve down the hall and eventually to the front door as he spoke, "You seem like a very good man Mr. Evans, and that's why Holden could never tell you this." He led Steve to the nearest bench outside. He hated being inside hospitals and decided to bring the conversation outside. "I don't know if you were ever aware and just denied, or whatever it is you do, but Evelin was abusing Holden."
He sighed, sitting down on the chair, remembering Holden's face when he thought of the past abuse from his mother. Solomon clenched his fists, his nails cutting into his palms causing them to bleed a bit, "I don't know of the entire extent of it, but he told me a few things. She would insult him, hit him with her hand and lamps, and pans..anything really I guess. She also pushed him down the stairs, putting him into an extended time of unconsciousness..two weeks to be exact." His knuckles became white as he continued to push his fingers into his palms. |
Steve nodded and fallowed. "Thank you for that." He said. "I had an inkling, especially since I saw what happened earlier tonight. I just knew if it was true I would never get the truth out of either one of them." Steve said sitting down. "She just said he fell down the stairs. She must of paid the doctors off. Oh my god I'm a terrible father." He said throwing his head into his hands and started to cry.
"Wha... What happened?" Holden asked sitting up. "Slowly Holden." Alicia said quickly running over to him. "You passed out from being under so much stress." She said trying to keep him calm. "Wheres Solomon?" He asked looking around. "He went out." She said trying not to let on that he was talking to his dad. "Solomon, Holden is awake." She said to Solomon as she stood up. "Are you hungry?" She asked. |
"I'll be back shortly." Solomon moved to put his hand on Steve's shoulder, but decided not to, since they were coated in a tad bit of blood, "You are not a terrible father. Holden just couldn't tell you..he felt you would be disappointed with him and he couldn't break your heart like that. Our friend, Alicia, is watching over him for the moment...and he seems to be alright, but she's really damaged his mind." He folded his hands in his lap, the wounds healing while they were out of Steve's sight. "Just because he's..not normal the eyes of her stupid fictional God."
He sighed deeply, "I just..don't know if I can..repair him. The damage is extensive." He quickly shuffled a cigarette from his vest pocket, lighting it with his black lighter. He took a long drag, leaning back on the bench and exhaling. |
"I could never be disappointed in him, I am very proud of him. He knows who exactly he is." Steven said a little upset. "Alicia is a very good person. I will pay any amount of money to get him better." He said rubbing his temples. "I've never believed in god." Steven said trying to think. "Can I bum one from you. I haven't smoked since Holden was born, but cigarettes are better than alcohol." He said leaning back as well. "I'm already in the process of divorce, and getting custody of our daughter." He said grabbing the cigarette.
"I don't know, did anything else happen?" He asked looking at the door. "No why?" Alicia asked looking confused. "I swear I saw Solomon over there and he said he was sorry, then I was out." Holden said trying to figure out what was going on. "No he didn't, he kissed you then you said something and then passed out. One reason could be because you haven't eaten at all today." She said grabbing the tray of food and bringing it to the bed. "Now eat." She said demanding. "Ok." He said still confused. "Where is Solomon again?" He asked taking a bit. "He went out to get me and him some blood." She said hoping he would believe them. |
Solomon shook his head, "A professional psychiatrist is not what he needs. I've dappled with psychology while I was in London, and he's going to need the people he trusts to support him. I know you already do, as does Alicia, but I think he's going to need to think that Evelin supports him as well to fully recover from this." He took another drag, then looked over at Steve, "I can tell you where we're hiding him and take you to him if you'd like, but of course, Evelin cannot know."
He sat forward, flicking the extra ash to the ground, "I only wish I could've met Holden sooner...perhaps I could've save him from a few years of that shit." Solomon was obviously distressed, even though he'd only met Holden today..well..yesterday perhaps..he could've sword it was about midnight now. It was about 5 or 6 when he snuck into Holden's room. |
Steven lit the cigarette and took a long drag. "I see. Are you gonna take him back to England with you, I think it would be better for him if he is as far away from his mother." He said taking another drag. "I will support him all I can, I love him, I can't believe I didn't do anything sooner." Steve said flicking the ash off of the cigarette. "I would like that, and wont tell her a damn thing." He said making a fist with his free hand. "Solomon its not your fault, its mine if I would of asked earlier or something most of this wouldn't of happened." He said putting his hand on Solomon's shoulder. He looked at his watch. "Wow its already one a.m.? I need to call work and tell them I wont be in today will you give me a minute? Then can you take me to Holden?" He asked standing up.
|
Solomon nodded, taking quite a long drag from the cigarette, "I was planning on it, if it was okay with you. Seeing as it is, I'll probably be leaving once his mind's a bit more settled. If you ever want to visit, I'll leave you my cell. I'll buy your tickets; round trip. You can even bring Amanda, if the two of them usually get along." He smiled slightly and nodded, "Of course, take your time. He might be resting now anyway." "Alicia, I'm bringing his father over..just for a bit...Is Holden doing any better?"
|
Steven smiled, "You don't have to buy my and Amanda's ticket's I can do that myself." He said still smiling. "Even though there is a fifteen year age difference between them they do get along actually." He said nodding.
"He's actually confused right now, but once he see's Mr. Evan's he is probably gonna freak out a little." Alicia said still watching Holden. "Holden I want you to settle down everything is fine." She said giving him a reassuring smile. "Something isn't right, I can feel it." Holden said looking around. "Damn it Solomon he's paranoid, that's one reason I don't like knocking out human's." She said trying to think of something to calm him down. "Holden grab your knees." "That always works." She thought. Holden did as she told him and he felt a little better. |
"You and me both my dear." Solomon sighed and stood, straightening his vest, "Well, that's good. I hope you drove here? I walked..soo.." He placed his hand on the back of his head looking away, "And by the way, you're wife is going to try to tell you crazy things about me..she's lying. I don't know what she'll say, but she said she'd make me look like the fool I am for being an abomination." He shrugged, "Oh well."
|
Steven came back, "They will be lost without me but oh well." He said with a smile. "Ya I did, but my corvette is on the other side of the hospital." He said pointing. "Pfft she's always been a crazy bitch, and your not an abomination. In my eyes as long as my son is happy I'm happy." He said patting Solomon gently on the back. Steven headed back into the hospital to his car.
"Holden are you ok sweety?" Alicia asked calmly. "I'm better yes." He said still holding his knees. "Good, now Solomon should be back soon. Ok?" She said giving him a little hug. "Holden is doing a little better since I made him hold his knees. He has been doing that since I first met him." She said with a sigh. |
"Just keep him calm. I'm on my way over now." Solomon followed along behind him, "If you don't mind sir, it'd be quicker if I drove. I have a Vet myself so I'll treat it very well. I promise." He smiled a bit, brief thought about how fast he would be driving. He hoped the poor man could take it.
|
Steven laughed, "Vette's are so beautiful aren't they?" He asked looking back. He tossed Solomon the key's. "Your gonna be going fast aren't you? I don't mind I haven't had a chance lately to put the peddle to the metal as they say." He said with a big grin.
|
Solomon let out a dark laugh, "You haven't seen fast." He quickly spotted the Vet in the lot and hurried over, examining it, "Beautiful. Anyway.." He unlocked the doors, got in with another cackle, "The more I learn about you the more I love you!" He caressed the shifter, "You sir, know how to have your car made. Manual is the only way to go with these babies."
He pushed in the clutch, turning the key to start the car. Oh the purr~ "It's been awhile since I drove my vet. Most of my vehicles are tagged by the cops and I can't take them off the lot of my apartment. A shame." He threw the car in reverse once Mr. Evans was set, backing out gently, just to be sure. These hospital lots had narrow stalls. After he was safely out of the lot, he peeled from the driveway approach, easily topping 90 mph. He weaved in and out of traffic, ever so calm. With his heightened senses, this speed to him was like average city speeds. He could easily keep up with his surroundings. He tore through red lights, swiftly avoiding any car that was in their path. Within only a few minutes he was finally slowing down and pulling into a hotel lot. He found a spot far away from any other car, parking half way int he stalls left and right of each other then pulling halfway forward into the two in front of them. "There..now they won't touch it." He smiled, looking over to a nervous Steve. "Hey..you okay?" |
Steven laughed as Solomon played with the shifter. "Thank you all of my cars I have custom made to be stick." He said with a smile. "I can have you cars untagged if you want, I am a lawyer." He said as he put his seat belt on. Steve looked at Solomon. "THAT WAS AWESOME!" He yelled letting out a 'woo'. He quickly fixed his hair and composed himself. "Let's go see Holden." He said going back to the reason why he was here.
|
He laughed, "Nah, it's fine. It's nice to walk every now and then." He smiled, leading Steve into the hotel and taking up to the third floor. After a few more halls he knocked on the door, "Ali, open up. You never gave me a damn key."
|
Alicia heard Solomon at the door. She got up and opened the door. "Well if you'd be nicer maybe I would of." She said with a smile while handing him a key. She gave him a hug. "Mr. Evan's how are you?" She asked giving him a hug as well.
"I've been better. Can I come in?" He asked hugging her back. "Oh of course." She said with a smile opening the door for Steven and Solomon to enter. "Dad!? What are you doing here?" Holden asked scared. "Holden please don't get mad but Solomon told me what your mother has been doing to you." Steven said slowly walking to the bed. "Oh no, no no no. I'm sorry dad." He said holding his knees tighter, and rocking back and forth. "It's not your fault Holden, it's mine I should of confronted your mother about it sooner." Steven said as he made it to the bed. "No its my fault always has been, you why did you tell him? I trusted you." Holden said pointing to Solomon. "Holden its not your fault, and you can still trust Solomon. He cares very much for you, even know I would of rather heard it from you, I'm glad I heard it from him." Steven said sitting on the bed. "No, no, no, the lamp is next, no shes gonna skip a step, pan or stairs or unconsciousness. No I don't want that." He said rocking back and forth harder. |
Solomon sighed, looking to Alicia, speaking only so she could hear him, "This is why I don't usually let you set me up with humans Alicia. They're so fragile." He rubbed his temples a bit, leaning on the wall next to the door. He opened his mouth, about to say something quite bluntly, but decided against it. "Holden, you know..quite a bit about me and my special talents. You know I would never let her hurt you again." He looked to Steve, curious if he should mention taking him away to Britain now, or perhaps later.
Suddenly, he let out a quiet hiss, speaking in low tones again, "Dammit. I'll be right back. That woman always interrupts me when I'm busy." He stormed out with an aggravated sigh, crossing his arms as he came across the dark brown haired woman again, "What?" The woman narrowed her eyes, her arms crossing, "You know, you could be a bit more polite to me. And you know why I'm here." She nodded her head towards the door, "You can't just go telling someone who you are, it's against the rules. Either you fix his memories, or I will end his worthless life." Solomon closed his eyes as the woman spoke, not really caring what she said..until she said it. He grabbed her face with his right hand and slammed her into the wall of the room Holden was in, denting the cheap dry-wall, "You lay a finger on him, and I'll burn you alive." As if to emphasize that point, his hand suddenly became extremely hot on her face. The woman let out a slight scream before holding her hands in surrender. When Solomon moved his hand, she spoke, fixing her hair, "Fine..but you will take care of this issue. Tonight." With that, she walked off to the elevator. Solomon sighed, leaning up on the wall and running his hands through his hair. "What am I going to do Alicia? Jaclynn simply won't leave me alone about me telling Holden. I'm sure she's been hounding you as well. I can't..manipulate his mind like that. It's wrong." |
