Serus suddenly tensed, "I know, I can sense them." She let go of him, turning around to get a better sniff. "Oh no..." She quickly turned back around and started to to push Seth back down the stairs, "You have to go. Now. Move!"
The female nodded, her white bangs covering her black eyes, "Serus is mine." She exhaled, her breath slightly visible. Due to certain factors, the air in a 3 foot radius around her always dropped to a temperature of 28 degrees F. She liked it cold. She scoffed, watching them, "Absolutely disgusting." |
"Wait what's wrong?" Seth asked concerned as he got pushed away. "I'm not going anywhere if your in trouble." He said moving away from the door. "Have you sensed these vampires before?" He asked looking around.
"Ill take the young one." He said chuckling. "This will be fun." He said as he jumped from the tree on to the roof. |
Serus shoved him through the doorway, "Just do as I say, please?" She quickly shut the door, not that it would do much in the end other than bar his view. She turned around quickly as she heard something land on the roof. She was going to reach for her knife, which was still lodged in Cecil's skull. She didn't need the weapon, but it would've been helpful. She clenched her fist as she remembered where it was, "Dammit.."
Layla frowned, "Why waste your time? He's useless." With a sigh, she followed, landing right behind Serus. Her long blackened fingers gently grabbed onto her face from behind as she spoke quietly in her ear, "We've missed you these past couple hundred years." She looked up to Dragos, "Didn't we?" |
He listened after she shut the door on him. "We've missed you these past couple hundred years." he heard.
"Past couple hundred years?" He said wondering what did Serus do. He heard Serus struggling to get free. He started to gain up his power by moving the air around him, when he had enough power he kicked the door open and he threw a large wind that blew the attackers away from Serus, he then lifted and brought Serus close to himself. "We will fight them together." He said gazing into her eyes. "Yes we have." He said with an evil smile. "You remember us? Don't you Serus." He said evilly. "I..." He started to say as the door flew open, he was thrown by a gust of wind. He was able to barely grab onto the ledge. "Humph he's not important, my ass Layla." He said as he looked to Layla. "I think he will do anything for her." He said grinning evilly. "This really will be fun." He said with an evil chuckle. He pulled himself back up on the roof. |
Serus hissed as the female touched her, but could not move, "Who was stupid enough to release you?" She felt Seth's power rise and tried to tell him to stop, but it was too late. His power threw open the door and sent them flying. She was torn from Seth's grip as Layla grabbed on to her.
Layla snarled, grabbing tightly onto Serus' face, taking her with as she flew across the roof. She rolled so that when they finally slid to a stop, she was pinning Serus to the ground by her throat. "Get rid of him then." She then stood, bringing Serus up with her as her many scrapes healed instantly. A dark scowl came upon her face as she was now able to address Serus' rude question, "Who else?" |
"Serus!" Seth yelled as she was slammed to the ground. He started running towards her when the other vampire jumped in front of him. "Who the fuck are you and what do you want?" He said looking at the man. Seth ran at the vampire and round housed kicked him in the face.
Dragos jumped in front of the running Seth. "I am Dragos one of the few remaining members of the Raksasha clan, which was destroyed by her." He said pointing at Serus. "We are here to destroy the Antinori clan and if you get in the way, which you already have (snicker) we will destroy your clan." He said with a evil laugh. Out of nowhere Dragos got kicked in the face by Seth. "You little punk." He said as he wiped the blood away from the corner of his mouth. |
"Dragos you imbecile..." she muttered softly to herself. Serus grabbed onto the sides of Layla's head with a scowl, "This time I won't be so kind to spare you. You're not that valuable." She pulled herself close to Layla and lifted herself off the ground. She did hate being so short sometimes.
She swung her body back then brought her feet forward, knocking Layla back and forcing her to let go. She quickly did a back flip to get some distance between her and the white haired vampire. She had to be careful. Layla was an incredible fighter with incredible power. Layla snarled, stumbling back and letting go of Serus to keep her balance, "Kindness? You call that a sign of your kindness? Killing me would've been the polite thing to do! You made a huge mistake trying to take over my coven, Serus." She held up her open palm, the air around it suddenly increasing in heat. She grinned darkly, a ball of white-blue fire suddenly erupting in her palm, yet she was not burned herself. The Raksasha's were very well known for their elemental control. |
Seth charged at Dragos again and when he got close to him, he jumped up and started spinning in mid air. He went in with a tornado kick. Dragos dodged. "Fuck!" Seth yelled when he saw Dragos dodge. Seth went crashing into the roof. "I'm surprised I didn't go through the roof." He said to himself while wanting to chuckle.
When Dragos dodged he automatically started to draw in power. When he saw Seth start to get up out of the hole that was made. "Do you wanna see real power kid?" He asked with an evil smile. With that Dragos started to hallow rocks out in his mind and he started heating the air around Seth. "You will die now!" He said while sending the rocks at Seth causing a big explosion. "Well now that was fun." He said as he turned his attention to Layla and Serus. |
By the time Dragos looked over, it was clear that Layla had the advantage over Serus. The vampire snarled, throwing the fire at Serus, and even though she moved, her dress still caught fire.
Serus yelled out, quickly trying to put the fire out, but it just kept spreading, "Layla you bitch!" She couldn't put out the fire, due to Layla's controlling it. The last thing she wanted to do today was fight almost bare naked, but that seemed more and more likely as she struggled to get the fire out. She could already feel the skin on her legs quickly burning away, pain shooting up her body as the fire spread. Vampires were highly sensitive to fire, but those who could control it, were obviously immune. She desperately wanted to be one of those vampires right now. With a disgruntled sigh, she tore the length of the dress off, ripping it at mid thigh. The burns on her legs were extensive, but not completely impairing. She could still move, but she would have to be careful. Her legs would take hours to heal unless she could get her hands on some blood. She took a step forward, wincing, I'm going to rip her to pieces. Suddenly, Serus was knocked down as a telekinetic attack smashed into her legs. How can this be? The Raksasha's can't do telekinesis! It's impossible! Now her legs were broken, and burned. What a day. Now, contrary to what many humans believe, a telekinetic user did not need to use their hands to guide their attack. Although, few know that it does help to focus their attack if they're distracted. Serus was definitely distracted. She held her hands around an invisible ball, closing her eyes as she gathered up a powerful attack. She threw out her hand, causing Layla to jump to the side, thinking her attack was launched. Truthfully, it was set to her other hand which she threw at Layla mid jump. Layla was suddenly knocked back and sent flying from the roof as Serus' attack hit her. A false throw, clever. She threw out her hands, grabbing onto the ledge, her claw like nails digging into the old brick. "Face it Serus," she began as she pulled herself back up onto the roof, "You can't beat me this time. I've only grown stronger, even if you don't want to admit it." |
Seth saw the rocks coming at him fast he was barely able to pull up his shield. He did break his wrist. The explosion made him fall through the roof, he quickly ran to grab his katana and ran back to the hole he fell through. He jumped up Through the hole and ran at Dragos and sliced off his arm he had raised with a gun in it.
Seth Then grabbed Dragos and threw him off of the roof. "Ahahahaha." Dragos laughed as he saw Serus on fire. "Well I am having fun." He said laughing. All of a sudden he saw Layla being sent over the edge of the manor. "You short little bitch how dare you do that?" He said as he started to pull out his favorite pistol. He aimed it at Serus' head. He knew that a gunshot to the head wont kill a vampire but it will hurt them. As he was ready to pull the trigger he felt a tearing sensation in his arm. "Son of a bitch, you little fucker how dare you cut off my arm." He yelled as he was being picked up. He got thrown off of the roof he landed hard on the concrete. He coughed up a lot of blood. "Fuck *cough* that little boy is good *cough, cough* he broke all of my ribs." He said while trying to concentrate on Layla. Layla I'm seriously injured I need help. We need to go." |
Serus quickly rolled out of the way as Layla jumped at her, just avoiding 5 very sharp claws to the face. She had to be sure to avoid the black skin on Layla's body; she had altered her chemical make-up in those areas to paralyze whoever touched it with extremely cold temperatures, freezing the muscles and nerves. "I prefer the term petite! Jack ass." As she saw Dragos fly from the roof, she threw her hand down, slamming it hard into the roof. "Seth, jump!"
A forceful blast of telekinesis flared out from her hand, spreading over the roof and down to the ground, pushing Dragos deep into his crater. Meanwhile, she sent another blast at Layla, knocking her to her back before the radial blast hit her. The radial blast rolled over her body then pushed her down through the roof. Layla snarled, "Well you'll just have to wait a moment Dragos. I almost have her. I can't let her get away now." Suddenly she found herself in the attic of the manor, debris falling on top of her. She let out a loud growl, sending the debris flying with a blast of power. "I will not be bested by some short 3rd rate vampire!" She jumped up through the hole, landing on top of Serus. "I will kill you right here, right now!" Her blackened hands gripped Serus' face tightly, her claws cutting deep into the pale skin of her enemy. Her body shook with rage as she dragged her fingers down along her neck, her one hand stopping over Serus' heart. "To think that you managed to beat me the first time we met. You will finally taste defeat." |
"Seth, jump!" He heard Serus say, and he did as he was told. He landed on the roof after the blast of power. Then Seth felt a pain go through his abdomen and the pain made him fall on his knees in pain. He looked down. "Holy shit." He said as he saw the piece of wood sticking out of his abdomen. He pulled it out. "FUCK!!!" He yelled as it slipped out of his abdomen. He saw that Serus was in trouble he mustered all of the power he had left and released it on Layla. "Hopefully that will help you Serus." He whispered as he passed out.
Dragos went deeper into the ground from someones telekinetic attack. "Fuck *cough*" He said after the push was over. |
Serus brought her hand around, catching Layla's wrist as she went to jab her heart. She struggled against Layla's strength, but held her own long enough for Seth's attack to connect. When Layla was pushed off, she quickly rolled away, setting the bones in her legs with her telekinesis and slowly made her way to standing.
Layla howled, "Get back here!" She lunged forward again, knocking Serus back to the ground. "Just give up Serus. You know by now I'm stronger than you'll ever hope to be." The cold air around her expanded, taking root in Serus' muscles, freezing them. She dragged her index finger down her left arm, her claw tearing through the bracelet on her wrist, "Now then...ahhh I see it's still there. You even went and had it tattooed? You're just making this too easy for me hun." She grabbed her wrist tightly and turned it over to reveal the tribal-esque marking. Serus winced as her wrist was twisted, "It won't work now Layla...that half of me is long gone." She frowned slightly as Seth his the ground. The poor kid had a long, straining day. She tried to wretch her wrist free, but Layla had her almost completely paralyzed. "I think you're lying..." she said with a dark sing-song tone. She gently tapped it with her claw, watching Serus' body shake with pain, "You are lying! No matter how hard you try dear, you cannot change the blood that flows through your veins. Nope." She jabbed her claw into Serus' wrist with a dark laugh. Serus had to had quickly, "Then you should know about the advantage that it also gives me." She yelled out as Layla's finger went through her skin, luckily she forgot about the blood aspect of things. She gathered up some power, dispelling the freezing effect on her body, bringing her legs back and kicking Layla hard on the chest, knocking her off. "Or have you forgotten?" Serus may have re-broken her legs, but they would heal eventually. Her eyes became dark, almost black, as she gathered up more power. She would have to be careful. If she missed, she would be out of power for a few hours and would be unable to heal. The air around her suddenly went out of control, whipping wildly over the roof. Now, she didn't have elemental control, so to say, but she could manipulate the air to her will. After all, telekinesis was the manipulation of the air particles and how they behave. Very similar to the elemental aspect of controlling it. She sent these lashings of air at Layla, slicing deep into her skin, particularly around her heart. Layla snarled, throwing up her hands around her heart. As her wrists were cut, she let the blood pool in her palm before lunging at Serus, flinging it at her. She lept right over her and let herself fall from the roof, landing crouched next to Dragos. Her wounds were mostly healed by now as she picked him up and ran off with incredible speed. Serus was quick to hid her left arm behind her back as she rolled to her knees as Layla had disappeared. "Well then..that was fun.." She leaned back to sit down, her legs bleeding slightly from being scrapped as she moved. She could already feel unconsciousness pulling at her mind. It had been awhile since she exhausted herself to this extreme. She did however, manage to send a telpathic message to Felix, letting him know that they needed his help, since the fight was over and it was safe to come out. |
Seth woke up in his bed. "What the fuck?" Seth said as he tried to sit up.
"No master Seth you have to rest." Felix said as he gently pushed Seth back down on the bed. "I have to see if Serus is alright." He said straining to sit up. "She's fine master. She's resting as well." Felix said with a smile. "You two did a lot of damage today." He said laughing. "Yes we did." Seth said with a laugh. He grabbed his ribs cause they hurt like hell. "Felix is there anyway I could see Serus?" He asked painfully. "Well sir I could help you walk over to the room she is in." Felix said straightening his jacket. Dragos was being carried by Layla. "I'm going to send someone to take care of that little bastered Seth." He said with a cough. "Catalina go take care of Seth he needs to die." He said to before he passed out. "Well lets go." Seth said while he started uncovering himself. "Let me help you sir." He said helping uncover Seth. "Oh god I'm in so much pain." Seth said wincing. "Well you have been through a lot today. This is gonna hurt." Felix said as he helped Seth up off the bed. "OWW!!" Seth said as he was pulled up. They started to walk out the door when someone shot water tidal wave at them. "Fucking Raksasha members." Seth said as he saw Felix laying on the ground with a board sticking through his chest. "FELIX!!!!!!!" Seth yelled as he crawled over to Felix. "Felix, Felix stay with me." Seth said starting to tear up. "I'm sorry sir." Felix said as his breathing became slower. "No Felix you can't die, I'll save you." With that Seth bit into Felix's neck and started drinking, when he felt Felix's heart slow he stopped and he sliced his wrist and made Felix drink his blood so he will become a vampire. |
Serus awoke in the room she had been led to before hand, "Hmm?" She groaned a bit, grabbing her head with her left hand, "Thank god she missed..." She turned her wrist to look at the marking, "I have no idea if that would've even worked or not..but I'm lucky I didn't have to find out the hard way." She let out a sigh, wincing.
Suddenly she bolted upright, smelling another Raksasha vampire, "No way...how did this happen?" She flung the covers off her body, grimacing at the condition of her legs. They were bandaged, thanks to Felix, but blood and puss had already soaked the bandages. She could tell her bones were healing before her burns..not the order she wanted but oh well. She knew she still couldn't walk. With a disheartened sigh, she flopped down to the bed, searching for the vampire's mind. When she found her, she put a tight telekinetic fist around her brain, squeezing it, "Leave or die." An empty threat..she had no where near enough power to do any damage. She hoped her bluff would work. |
Seth waited till the human smell of Felix went away, and he could smell the vampire in him so he pulled the board out of Felix's chest.
"Ouch!" Felix yelled as he jolted awake. "Oh Felix thank god. Your alive, I didn't know if your body would take the transformation or not." Seth said relieved. "Transformation?" Felix asked confused. "Ya um I had to turn you into a vampire, cause you were gonna die." Seth said apologetic. "Oh dear what happened?" Felix asked quizzically. "Well a fucking Raksasha came back and attacked us." Seth said with a low growl. "What is a Raksasha?" Felix asked. "All I know is that they are vampires and they can use the elements." Seth said grabbing his ribs. Seth started to get up but fell down. "Fuck, Felix are you able to get up?" He asked wondering. "Yes sir." Felix said as he got up and held out his hand. Seth grabbed Felix's hand and got up, he wrapped his arm around Felix's neck. "Why thank you Felix. Now let's go check on Serus." He said as they started to walk to her room. |
Serus sighed deeply as the Raksasha vampire fled. She didn't know how long it would last though. She slowly became more worried. How many of the Raksasha's are still alive? Are they rebuilding? How powerful is Layla now? She had never met another vampire that could match her strength.
She lifted her wrist again, her finger gently tracing along the design, "I probably should've just cut this section of skin and let it heal..to remove the brand..." With a sigh, she let her left wrist lay on her forehead, tattoo up. "I can't believe she almost succeeded..." She closed her eyes as she continued to talk to herself, "If she's capable of telekinesis now, who knows what else she can do. And now Seth's involved? Not to mention, Felix is now a vampire, so he'll be a target as well. What a fucking mess.." |
Seth looked at Felix and noticed that the gray was gone from his hair and that it was turning red. "Hey Felix how old are you?" Seth asked as he noticed that the wrinkles were vanishing from his face.
"Well sir I am 50 years old. Why?" He stated confused. "I think you can age you self because you are getting younger by the second." Seth said with envy. "Is that good sir?" Felix asked worried. "I think its a great thing Felix, there's no need to worry." Seth said smiling. Felix smiled back at Seth. They reached the door and Seth was ready to knock. "Hey Felix, would you like to be my apprentice? I'll be able to help you tune your powers, and you will no longer be the butler." Seth said nervously and with a smile. "Sure sir, I think this will be fun." Felix said with a nod. Seth smiled and knocked on the door. "Serus?" Seth said sweetly. He opened the door. They walked in and saw Serus laying on the bed. "Are you ok Serus?" Seth asked sweetly. |
Serus looked over at Seth and Felix and winked, "Looking good Felix." She let out a sigh and sat up, holding the covers up to keep her body covered...seeing as she was no longer in the torn dress. "Yeah, I'll be fine in a few days. There's extensive damage to my legs so I won't be able to walk for awhile."
She smiled weakly, then closed her eyes and leaned on the headboard, looking at her wrist again, then showed Seth the mark, "Do recognize this mark Seth? I don't expect you to...but I'm curious..." |
Seth let go of Felix and wobbled over and sat down gently on the bed and grabbed Serus' wrist. "It looks familiar, but I'm not sure." Seth said with a sigh. "Hey Felix come over here I want you to help me." Seth asked nicely.
"Sir?" He questioned as he walked closer to Seth and Serus. "I want you to grab her other hand and concentrate. I am going to do the same thing we are gonna help heal Serus' legs." Seth said while nodding over towards Serus' arm. Felix walked over to Serus' arm and grabbed it and concentrated. They sat there for a few minutes. "Ok Felix that should be good. How do your legs feel Serus?" Seth said and asked tenderly. |
"Not any better, but don't worry about it." She took her wrist back, "You tried at least, right? I wouldn't expect you to know what to do, not to mention, you're pretty weak from the fight. Felix still needs to have his first blood meal in order to really harness any of his powers." She paused, placing a finger to her chin, "Perhaps you should do that now Felix. He needs fresh blood Seth, so you should go with him. Go I'll be fine."
She gave them both a smile, reaching over to the nightstand where more bandages lay, "Besides, I need to replace my bandages. The bleeding should have stopped by now, or at least for the most part." |
"Ok." Felix said as he went towards the door.
"Ok Serus." Seth said with a smile. He grabbed Serus' hand and gave it a sweet tender kiss. He looked to the corner of the room where he saw a cane. He got up and limped over to the cane a grabbed it. "This will help me walk." He said with a chuckle. "Well lets go on our way Felix, I know a great place to go." Seth said nodding to the door. As they left the room Seth turned and gave a cute smile to Serus. "This is kind of cool. I Don't know why I didn't ask to be turned earlier." Felix thought to himself. "Where are we going sir." Felix asked Seth when they got to the stairs. "We are going to a place that Serus showed me before I fought Cecil." Seth said as he thought of Serus. "I hope Serus gets better soon. I'd like to pick up where we left off on the roof before we were ambushed." "Ok sir." Felix said as he started down the stairs. "I wonder what blood tastes like." Felix thought to himself. Seth started down the stairs. "The only rule to this place is that you cannot kill the person you drink from." Seth said trying not to fall down the stairs. "I wonder if we could bring a human back for Serus." He thought to himself. Dragos awoke suddenly in his bed. "Grrrr I can't believe that little piss ant cut off my arm." He said as he looked at his regrowing arm. "Layla where are you?" He yelled. He got up and went looking for Layla. "Master you shouldn't be moving around you need to rest." A Raksasha member said. "I don't fucking care I've been injured worse, and you don't tell me what to do again or I'll kill your ass." Dragos said with a snarl. |
Layla sighed, looking back to Dragos, "Don't you take it out on her. She's just looking out for your well being. Either way, leave it be, Jez.' The vampire left in a huff. Layla turned around, her eyes seething with anger, "I was so close Dragos. Just one more attack and I would've had her. But noooo, your sorry ass got bested by a fledgling."
The air in the room became ice cold as her anger rose, thinking back to her battle, "I would've had her begging if I had landed my blood on that stupid brand on her wrist." She growled, the windows and mirror in the room shattering. Serus smiled as they left then quickly unwrapped her legs. She winced, thank goodness for nerve manipulation. She would be in agonizing pain if she wasn't blocking the signals. Her legs were no longer bleeding, as she had predicted. Yet, the bones were still shifting back into place, and her skin was healing very, very slowly. With a sigh, she wrapped them up again and tosses the old bandages int he trash can across the room. She looked at the closet, forcing a shirt and skirt from the closet to float its way over to her. She quickly buttoned up the shirt and slid the skirt on, careful of her legs. "Well, that's better at least. Although, I don't like white.." She muttered looking down at the white shirt. |
"Hey now how was I supposed to know that little piss ant was gonna cut off my arm?" Dragos said flustered. A Raksasha member walked up to Dragos and whispered in his ear. "Interesting, very interesting." Dragos said intrigued. "Did you know that Seth is the new leader of the long thought extinct Augustin clan." He said interested. "Weren't they empath vampires?" Dragos asked Layla.
"I wonder what that tattoo is, I hope I can ask her when we get back.Seth wondered to himself. They made it to the cafe. "Felix you can feed from any of the human's but just remember not to kill them." Seth said as he opened the door. "Yes sir." Felix answered while looking around the cafe. "I wonder which one to pick." Felix thought. "I'll be right back." Seth said to Felix as he walked towards the counter. "Excuse me ma'am?" he said politely. "Yes sir?" The young lady asked with a smile. "I was wondering if I could bring one of the humans to my house because Serus is very injured." He stated with charm. "Of course, only because its for master Serus. Also you have to pay for the taxi back to the persons house." She said with a giggle. "That's fine." He said. "I wonder which human I should feed from." He pondered as he walked away from the counter. He walked up to a human. "Can I feed from you?" He asked politely. "Sure." The man leaned his head to the side. Seth leaned in and started to feed from the man. "Excuse me ma'am, can I feed from you?" He asked her as he walked up to her. "Sure." She said. He leaned into and bit her neck. "Hmm it tastes like copper, but its delicious." Felix thought to himself as he drank. He felt her start to loosen up so he stopped drinking and helped her sit down. "Are you ok?" He cooed. "Ya im fine." She said woozily. Felix walked towards the door to wait for Seth. Seth kept drinking in tell the man almost lost consciousness. He stoped and helped the man to a chair. "Shit sir are you ok? I'm injured so I kind of lost track of what I was doing." He said confused. "Ya...I'm...fine..." The man said breathing hard. Seth walked to the counter and put down a few hundred dollar bills. He walked up to a woman. "Excuse me? Would you be willing to come with me and let my friend feed off of you?" He asked nicely. She nodded and followed him out and to the manor. |
Serus sighed, leaning back against the headboard once more. She wondered if Seth would be okay. She hoped the Raksasha's were as drained of power as they were...or else they might get attacked. And this time, she wouldn't be able to help them. She hated the feeling that without her, they would be dead. "Mother was right...no matter where I go, I will attract the wrong crowd simply of what I am." She laughed a bit rolling her eyes.
|
Seth, Felix and the woman arrived at the manor. Seth satrted to lead the woman up the stairs. "Felix can you call a cab for our guest please?" Seth asked somewhat demanding.
"Yes sir." Felix said as he walked into the kitchen. "I may not be the butler anymore but it still feels like I am." He thought to himself as he picked up the phone. Seth and the young woman got to the top of the stairs. "Follow me." Seth said sternly. They got to the door and Seth knocked. "Serus its me Seth may I come in I have a gift for you." Seth said charmingly. He entered the room. "I brought you dinner." He said with a beautiful smile. "I want to go after Seth tomorrow!" Dragos said to Layla. "I want to end his life and eat his heart." He said slamming his fist against the wall. |
Layla placed her hand on his shoulder, "We must be patient Dragos. We will recover much quicker than she will. We will attack in two days. Alright?" She sighed, looking out the window, "I will kill her next time..she won't get away."
Serus tilted her head to the side, her tone showing dismay, "Why'd you bring her here?" She did not like feeling pitied. True, Seth was only doing what needed to be done, but she did not like it being implied that she couldn't do it on her own. With a sigh, she put on a smile, "Thank you Seth." She pointed to the girl, her smile fading to cold emotionlessness. She pointed to her, "You. Get over here." The girl hesitated, but complied, sitting next to Serus on the bed. Serus tenderly swept the hair from her neck, her fangs piercing the flesh easily. After a few minutes, she still did not stop. The human's heart began to race in an effort to pump the thinning blood to her brain, but could not keep up with the demand. Eventually, the girl became unconscious until her heartbeat stopped. At that moment, Serus finally pulled her mouth away, licking her lips. "She was a drinker..I told the bouncer to keep those humans out. They taste horrible." |
"Well that was a first." He said out loud. "Felix cancel the cab." Seth thought to Felix. "I'll get someone in here to clean her up." Seth said with a half smile. "I was wondering what that mark means. If I can ask." Seth said as he pulled the dead body off the bed and setting it on the floor. Seth sat down on the edge of the bed waiting for her reply.
"Why must I cancel the cab?" He wondered to himself. "Never mind sir we don't need a cab." He said before he hung up. "Oh dear I need to look for a new butler. Wait I know the perfect person." He said as he started to dial the phone. Dragos liked that Layla always calmed him down. "Fine Layla two days but any longer then that I will go after him." He said with a sigh. "You will kill her and I will kill him and we will rule the world." He said with a evil laugh. |
"The world? You're starting to sound like my Father. Baby steps Dragos. First, we must re-establish the Raksashas." She sat down on the bed, picking the dried blood from her claw-like nails. "Rebuilding the Coven will take a lot of work, Dragos. After we've taken over the Antinori and the Augustin covens, we should focus on that before we try anything else."
Serus shrugged, "No one will know about her. She'll just be another one of those kidnapped cases." She raised her wrist, tracing the mark. "What do you know about...witches?" After a moment of silence, she continued without his answer. "About 480 years ago, vampires were a bit more..uncivilized than they are now. Much like the humans had the Africans as their slaves, vampires had witches. "Due to the brutality of the vampires, most of us tried to go into hiding; crafting cloaking spells and changing our appearances. Sometimes, it just wasn't enough and the vampires could still sense us. In order to make it easier on the vampires, they began branding us to make them easier to identify." Serus pulled her watch from the nightstand, showing Seth the cover. Lightly etched into it's surface was a marking very similar to her tattoo, a few extra details and swirls here and there with an 'A' smack dab in the middle of it all. She placed her wrist next to the watch, "It was Keiara Antinori's idea to mark us. With her being the oldest known vampire, her power was nearly limitless, allowing her to pick out a witch with ease, no matter what we did." She let out a sigh, replacing the watch on the table, "When I was five, Keiara found me while I was helping Mother tend the garden. We were pulling weeds from the tomato garden. My mother had been marked before I was born, which is why it took her awhile to finally find me." She chewed on her lip for a moment until it started to bleed, then heal. "She grabbed onto my arm and pulled me close, lifting up my wrist for her lapdog to brand. His name was Nicolai Raksasha, the first of his clan. I remember his hand suddenly bursting into this bright red flame as he held the brander over it. I was so scared, I had no idea what they were doing, or why, my mother never told me since I was too young to understand. Next thing I know, the hot iron was pressed onto my wrist, burning the mark permanently into my flesh through scaring." She ran her fingers over the mark, still able to feel some of the deformities in her skin from the scar, "My mother was able to close my wound before an infection could set in, but it still scared due to the vampires' magic. I was able to hide my mark fairly easily throughout the years, but I knew it wouldn't last. "When I was 19, I crossed paths with Keiara again. Her coven, along with the Raksasha’s had become so incredibly powerful in that short span of time, no one could match them. Unfortunately for her, the Raksasha’s were a lot stronger, their elemental prowess gave them an incredible boost. When she found me, they were at war with each other and the Antinori’s were losing. “I was asleep when she had found me again. I awoke in the middle of the night to a strange sensation in my arm, where I was branded. By that time, I had already mastered my seeing technique. I had used my familiar, a cat named Haji. When our eyes focused, I saw she was drinking my blood, quite quickly. Seconds later, everything had gone black, and then…nothing. I awoke again to something new, a warm coppery liquid flowing over my taste buds. I couldn’t recognize what it was, and it took me days to figure it out.” She closed her eyes and continued, “The next thing I knew, there was pain..pain all over. It was so intense, the few days after it started are a complete blur to me. I was later told that it was the process of me becoming a vampire. I could hardly comprehend what was going on. Why had Keiara turned me? How did she even know it was possible? No one has ever heard of a human, yet alone a witch, being turned into a vampire. “After that, my life was pretty much like yours. Keiara trained me to the point of such exhaustion, I would often pass out. Every day though, I could feel myself getting stronger, my psychic abilities much stronger than any other vampire…even Keiara. The war had reached its peak by then, hundreds of each clan murdered by the other…both families slowly dwindling down. “That’s when she put her plan into action. She pulled back all her forces and told me I had a very important job to do now. She pointed me in the direction of the Raksasha army and told me to ‘have fun with it’. I was stumped at first. I had never been against so many enemies, not to mention, ones I thought to be stronger than myself. But when the first Raksasha attacked, something inside me…broke so to say. It was a big, bloody mess. Bodies and body parts scattered across miles, leading up to the Raksasha Manor.” She yawned a bit, trying to recall the few days in time she was telling him about, “Day turned to night, night to day, and so on and so forth as I made my way through the coven. Of course, I would need nourishment every now and then. I quickly discovered that it was very helpful to drink another vampire’s blood. It was much stronger than a human’s and provided me with extra strength. “Then I came upon Nicolai and his heir, Layla and her partner, Dragos. At the time, they were about 300 years older than me, possibly more. I never learned Layla’s age. Our fight was..epic to say t he least, but eventually, it was just me and Nicolai. That didn’t take me too long, and I returned to the Antinori Mansion with his head, throwing it in my master’s lap.” She shrugged, not that he really needed to know the downfall of the Raksasha’s, but it was part of her life; her history. She decided to wait for his reaction, her head tilted curiously to the side. “Too much?” |
Seth sat there listening intently. He zoned out thinking of how powerful she is when she asked him if it was to much. "No it wasn't to much." He said as he scooted closer to her and grabbed her hand. He turned her arm over to expose Serus' wrist where the mark was. He placed a tender kiss on the mark. "We all have baggage darling." He said as he gently grabbed her chin and placed a tenderly powerful kiss on her lips.
"Now that I think of it I do sound like your father." Dragos said chuckling. "We have a lot of work to do." He said as he sat down on the bed next to Layla. |
"Although, my father was an idiot to not destroy Keiara when he had the chance. Because of her, that creature, Serus was born. Either way, rest now Dragos. Tomorrow we've got a lot of preparation to do." She nodded then walked out.
Serus quickly pulled her wrist away with a slight hiss, but was quickly silenced by a kiss on the lips. She of course, cut it short to reprimand him for his actions, "Be careful. There's a spell on this mark. You were unconscious for this part, but Layla was about to use it to her advantage. With each brand, a spell was laid over it, one that only Elder vampires could use. I won't go into details, but it's very dangerous. Just keep your blood and your mouth away from it." She sighed deeply, closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose, "I'm afraid to simply cut off that part of my skin, since I don't know what will happen if I do." |
He listened to her intently. "As long as you are safe I don't care what happens to me." He said with a sparkle in his eye. "I may have been around for only 250 years, but you are the first person Ive made a connection to." He said holding back tears. "Even when my parents were alive I didn't connect with them." He said with a tear coming from his eye. He wiped his eyes. "I should probably go." He said not wanting to leave.
|
Serus gripped his shoulder gently, "I was the same way with my father, if it makes you feel any better." She kissed his cheek lightly then rested her head on his shoulder, "If you leave, how the hell am I going to get downstairs?"
|
When she leaned her head on his shoulder he took in a whiff of her scent. "I wont go." He said with a slight smile. "I'll take you anywhere you wanna go." He said compassionately.
|
She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, "Let's see...it's about 5am...so, why dont we go to the roof, where it's not broken, and watch the sun rise? I think that sounds like a capital idea. What do you think?" She smiled, giving him a quick hug.
|
"Ok." He said as he hugged her back. He gently slipped his free arm under her legs. In one swift movement he was standing and holding her. "Lets go." He said placing a light kiss on her forehead. They went out the door and he made it to the stairs leading up to the roof. They made it to the roof "Hold on." He said as he jumped over one of the many holes in the roof. He made it to a spot that was clear he gently placed her on the ledge. He sat on the ledge as he put his arm around Serus and then looked at the sky.
|
She smiled, leaning against him. She could tell the sun would rise soon, the horizon was already starting to brighten. Soon she felt his arm around her waist, giving him another kiss on his cheek. "How is Felix handling the change? I'm curious as to how a human reacts."
|
"He seems to be handling it well. From what I know the first twenty-four hours are the hardest part of the change." He said a little flustered from the kiss. Seth looked at his watch. "His heart should be dieing soon. Then it'll feel like his blood is boiling. After that I'm not sure what happens." He said with a chuckle.
"God I feel like I'm on fire." Felix said as he waved a piece of paper in front of his face. "Master I'm going to go and lay down I don't feel good." Felix said to Seth as he went up the stairs. "Well it looks like his telepathy is kicking in." Seth said laughing. |
Serus chuckled, "Just as painful then..good. I don't want to feel like I got the special treatment for being special." She rolled her eyes slightly, leaning forward as she saw the sun break the horizon, "At least, we're not like what the humans fantasize us to be. I don't think I could live without the sun. It always makes me smile"
|
"That is true, but to tell you the truth I've never enjoyed the sun in tell I met you." He said as he pulled her closer. He sat there watching the sun rise as he sighed contently.
