Well, he's dealing with death in an "unusual" sort of way. He put his cat to sleep on Friday because the cat got lung cancer. And instead of looking for support from others, he's blocking out the world around him. I feel bad for him and wish I could be there but I can't. So I'm just giving him space and time. He'll come around. |

Yeah, he had Jasper for 14 years. So since he was... 5. Or perhaps even 6 years old, he was young though. I understand how he feels though, I lost my pet rabbit when I was 12 and I still remember what happened that day. |

It's kind of a reverse effect. He was really close to his cat and he, his brother, and his mom spent an hour before the vet visit petting the cat. It's more of he's so devastated that being around or in his house too long upsets him. He wants to be alone by myself even when he's outside the house. When their cat was still alive he could barely stand to be in the same room as him because it hurt him so much. Instead of wanting to be around the people who care about him, he rather be by himself to mourn alone. |
