it was more that the hurting caused the being awake XD

Chloe 04-15-2016 11:30 PM

I would have to say my favorite egg dish is omelettes.

Mainly cause they don't take much effort and you can bang pretty much anything into them. My dad use to put jalapenos in mine the days I was off work in the States. Always stopped the pets from begging.

littl3chocobo 04-16-2016 12:50 AM

here that would just lead to looks of betrayal and barfing XD they'd still beg hahaha

We should exchange recipes sometimes XD
My husband's father is from Mexico (and is currently there and not allowed back in the states....)so I've learned quite a bit from his family members XD
But he's also half Alaskan-native, so they also taught me how to make frybread and whatnot =O

littl3chocobo 04-16-2016 01:00 AM

hey, my motherinlaw is alaskan XD not native mind but a couple-hundred years a refugee XD

Pinkie 04-16-2016 09:03 AM

I personally HATE eggs. The smell, taste, texture, look....I hate it all. I just can not and will not eat them.

Potironette 04-16-2016 10:33 AM

Eggs in any form? Both the yolk and the whites? I think hard-boiled eggs/omelettes/egg custards/egg yolk vs egg white are pretty different.

Exchanging recipes would be wonderful. A lot of what I cook is improvised, but well loved by my hubby and friends.

A friend taught me how to make Tibetan bread and I've made a nice Irish Soda bread, but I don't know anything about how to make frybread.

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I imagine it would give you more reasons to vacation in Mexico.

One would imagine but I've avoided going down there at all costs XD
I'm not up for being forced to sit and make tortillas and discuss religion with Mexican-catholic Grandma in law. His other grandma has already called me a white- heathen she-devil before sooo not sure how it would fly over with mexican grandma XD
Frybread is really simple and super yummy =O His native grandma taught me you could use it to make donuts, stew bread or even use the frybread like a tortilla and have indian tacos XD

Yikes. I can understand why you avoid that situation.

There was a restaurant up north that was run by a lovely Chippewa family. They made the best Indian Tacos using frybread.

I... have no idea what I am. I was adopted, so my family background is based on my adoptive family's, and it's a mix of English, Scottish, Swedish, Irish, and German.

Now I want to make Swedish pancakes (They're like crepes, but lightly sweetened, and SO good with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, or dipped into maple syrup...)... I think I'll make those on Monday, when it's just me in the house, so I don't have to share. :f-raspberry:

ZenKitty 04-16-2016 09:47 PM

Those sound wonderful, Den.

Now I'm thinking I want to make some Molassess cookies with orange extract. Yummy.

SparX 04-16-2016 10:10 PM

My dad was one of those kind of guys who put 3 eggs in a cup and drank it once a week .-.

ZenKitty 04-16-2016 10:34 PM

Ewwww....

Now if we're talking about a microwaved egg mug with egg, cheese, mushrooms and green onion.... yummy.

SparX 04-16-2016 11:03 PM

Nope just cracked it in there and chugged it
he made me do it once and I threw it up
called me a wimp and I was like fine I'm a wimp but your disgusting

ZenKitty 04-16-2016 11:12 PM

I would have done the same thing.

littl3chocobo 04-16-2016 11:13 PM

he is soooo gross

SparX 04-16-2016 11:13 PM

On a side note, This thread is the reason were having breakfast for dinner tonight XD

littl3chocobo 04-16-2016 11:14 PM

woo! i am awesome!

SparX 04-16-2016 11:20 PM

Were having biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs and if anyone wants dessert we have orange and regular cinnamon rolls

littl3chocobo 04-16-2016 11:23 PM

eeeeeeeehhh.... well there are rolls at least?

ZenKitty 04-17-2016 12:03 AM

Orange rolls sound wonderful.

SparX 04-17-2016 12:20 AM

I love orange rolls more then cinnamon rolls
But I LOVE biscuits and gravy
though this is the first time I've made them since the holidays, we always have a huge brunch featuring biscuits and gravy for 20-30 people and your kinda burnt out of eating them a week later XD

ZenKitty 04-17-2016 12:47 AM

Wow! 20 to 30 people for a holiday dinner.

Our family is so small, that just sounds mind-boggling.

SparX 04-17-2016 01:09 AM

I choose my family, so the only blood usually there is my grandparents(just one set), mom and sometimes an aunt or my brother. On sergs side we have lee, grandma, uncle frank, and sometimes another auntie or two, possibly brothers(up to 3) then the rest of it fills out to our friends that is our family =3
I'm not accounting for who may have children or how many in this one....

ZenKitty 04-17-2016 01:17 AM

Our Thanksgiving is usually spent with our fremily (friends who are family). We'll have 5 to 10 people with us and I'll cook a big ole turkey with all the trimmings. Love it.

SparX 04-17-2016 01:22 AM

Our thanksgiving is small comparably XD two years ago it had 5 people total Dx
which was odd for me!
my brother always has thankgsiving planned betwen his step family, dads side, wifes family or having a private one for himself on that day.
Never invites his own mother or sister.
At least not me, sometimes his other sister shows up in pictures of his thanksgivings that we never heard about.
It was behavior like that throughout my life that just got me fed up with "family"

Fulkth 04-17-2016 10:52 AM

Let's see....I like omelettes, deviled eggs, hard boiled eggs in salad, and flan. I also like to eat quiche with flaky crusts (not pie crusts). I also like crepes.

I love turkey! Too bad you can only buy whole turkeys around Thanksgiving.

Yuuup! And have you ever also had sunomono salad? There's seaweed and cucumber in the one from my favourite restaurant, along with glass noodles, and it is very tasty.

Cimanum buns! I like making those with soda biscuit dough.

SparX 04-17-2016 03:27 PM

It sounds wonderful, but I've never had it. I'll have to look for it.

Today we went to a Korean restaurant and had Stone Bowl Bimbibop with an egg on top. I love that dish. The stone bowl is so hot that it makes the rice at the bottom crisp. :D

littl3chocobo 04-17-2016 08:24 PM

are glass noodles like cellophane noodles?

I believe the names are interchangeable. They are both clear noodles made with some kind of bean and are also called bean thread noodles.

littl3chocobo 04-18-2016 03:23 AM

yes, they are the same XD

ZenKitty 04-18-2016 10:17 AM

How many people like meringue? That's a sweet flavor made with egg whites.

littl3chocobo 04-18-2016 12:33 PM

it's alright XD too sweet though

Fulkth 04-18-2016 01:42 PM

I don't think I have ever made or had meringue (by itself) before. Unless it's the stuff on a lemon meringue pie....then I have. But it's been awhile since I had a slice of lemon meringue pie.

ZenKitty 04-18-2016 01:46 PM

It is the stuff on Lemon Meringue Pie. In fact, that's what I was thinking of when I posted about it. ;-)

littl3chocobo 04-18-2016 01:57 PM

it's on keylime pie too XD

ZenKitty 04-18-2016 01:59 PM

Oh. I love key lime pie. Seldom have it, though. I should learn how to make it. :D
