Kore yawned and then walked over to Yemon. "Oh, so you're the new mountain guardian? That's nice. Get comfortable here, you can never leave now until you pass on that power but your soul will go into eternal slumber." She yawned. Walking over to Yuki, she smiled. "Don't worry, Khione, I will make sure that you get your wolf back." She smiled and then place her hand on Yuki's chest before getting a bright white orb out of her chest. The snow outside stopped. The clouds were slowly but surely beginning to dissipate. After being guided to Kiba's body, she placed the soul back into the wolf.
Already Yuki began to melt as an extremely fast rate. Kiba slowly began waking up and licked Yuki's face once he did. He was so excited to see her again and she was excited to see him. There was only a hint of a smile on her face as she held Kiba's head in her arms. "I missed you too." She petted his head. But soon she was too weak to stand, there was a puddle of water around her. Her eyes were getting too heavy for her to keep them open. "I-I hope t-to see you next winter." She completely fell asleep and her body was half way gone as she continued to melt until there was nothing but a puddle where she once stood. The fire in the fireplace made it too hot for her to stay in the house and with Kore who was permanently awake, she couldn't keep herself from melting any longer. |
"Wait, what? I'm the new mountain guardian?" He's shocked it hear this, now understanding some of what the weird guy had said. Yemon tries to hold Yuki as she melts, saddened by her leaving so quickly after Kiba's soul is removed. He wishes that there was something he could have done, but he knows that since she's a being of winter that there would be no way for her to stay without a soul. "Don't worry, I'll be looking for you as soon as it begins to get cold out." Once she's gone he just stands there for a while, not sure what to do since he can't be with humans anymore.
Sighing he shakes his head, "I'm going to have to make it look like I died in an accident or something. This way people don't come looking for me since that would be bad now. I don't even know what I'm able to do. Well, besides wake you up that is Kore. I wasn't expecting that, but I suspect that I might have been able to do the same with cold temperature with Yuki, but I'd probably always have to be touching her. Anyways, is there something you can do to make it so that people think I'm dead? Like make another body look like mine? Or am I able to make myself look different? This way even if I am seen no one will know its me?" |
Yuki yawned as she saw her sister melt. "Well, it's warm in here because of the fire, it will melt snow instantly so what did you expect?" She asked sounding a bit cold hearted behind her soft smile. "But with your power, you can control us. You have a little power of each of us to help us when we need it. You can control a small portion of our powers to help the weather to have a smooth transition to each season. Basically, you're in control when it's spring, summer, fall and winter." She explained some more.
"Well, you can mingle with the humans as so long as you don't let them know about your power. I know I sometimes go to them. I have talked to a small few, not a lot to get into trouble with you though. Or well, the old guardian. As so long as we don't show our powers to the others and let them know who or what we are, then it is safe. So I don't understand why Khione didn't get into trouble since you know about us before you became the mountain guardian." She went to sit down on the couch. "But if you want to, fake your death. I'm too tired to help you." Kiba whimpered and stared at the puddle where Yuki once stood. He whined as he pawed at the floor. |
He ponders a moment about what she said while talking with her, "He said something that what she had done had only delayed when I was supposed to come and that was all. But she didn't seem to remember anything about the mountain guardian where as you did." Reaching out a hand he touches the puddle, thinking of making the puddle itself cold enough for Yuki to come back and that there would be an aura of cold to keep her form. Yemon hopes that keeping focused on her being formed by his powers instead of the weather on the mountain changing, it might not affect Kore since she seemed to be in a bad mood.
|
"Well, the thing with Khione is that she...well because she melts, it's to keep her from being scared in case she thinks she's going to die. And, she only met the mountain guardian once. I met him a couple times. We don't keep Khione in the loop because, well, we figure it's best that she not remember anything or else she would get scared about when winter will end." She explained with a yawn. "It's bad for us both to be awake at the same time. You keep Khione awake, then this whole region that we control will be thrown off balance." She explained to him.
Yuki was soon developing which cheered up Kiba. Yuki was slowly finally raising up out of the water. The water was forming snow of a body that slowly turned into Yuki. Once she appeared in front of him, she was already starting to melt from of the heat. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw Kiba and Yemon. "W-what? H-How did I get here?" She asked. |
"I want to see if there's a way for her to stay without affecting the weather. Its not fair to her that she can only be here for basically one season, Autumn for the first half would probably be too warm for her as well. And that's what I'm trying to do, because she's always so lonely because of it."
His eye light up excitedly, when he sees Yuki form, "Okay, so I can bring her back, it's just I still haven't figured out how to get her to stay without melting and without affecting the seasons. Sorry Yuki, I just don't think its fair that you're so lonely during the winter since the Spirit of Autumn can only be around for so long. And see? I was right, you'll come back, you're not really dead, just gone until next winter." He wraps his arms around her, happy to see it worked for him. |
Yuki looked at Yemon curiously. "Huh? You brought me back? Why? It's too hot for me. I can feel myself dying already. How...How did you bring me back?" She asked. She had forgotten the events with him awaking up her sister. She touched the top of her head. "Oh, Kiba's soul isn't inside of me?" She looked over and saw him and smiled faintly. She didn't recognized him when she first saw him. "Kiba!" She called out to him." He barked and wagged his tail and licked her. "I-I'm not really dead? A-are you sure?" She asked. She didn't understand how or why.
Kore yawned some more and getting sleepier by the second. "Only one of us can stay awake. Choose her, and the region will plummet into nothing but snow and ice. Choose me, and snow goes away and people will be warm and happy. So, you should choose me." Kiba growled at her. |
He smiles at her, "Apparently I'm the new mountain spirit so I have partial control over the seasons. So I can bring you back if I want to. And what I mean is that you're not like a human who would never come back, you will come back every year no matter what. So we can spend more time together in the future." Leaning over he hugs her again, just so happy he can actually do something. Then he turns to glare at Kore, a less than pleased look on his face.
"There are plenty of people who enjoy the winter over the other seasons, I was one such human. There are also plenty of things to do doing the winter besides bundle up and hide from the cold. So don't act like no one is happy during the winter, the only reason why I would let Yuki disappear until next winter because it would upset the balance of nature. So I'd watch your tongue if I were you." Still seething angrily he gives Yuki one last hug, "I'll see you in a little less than a year, then we can have fun together all the time, and I can teach you more things about humans, alright? Now sleep, and have sweet dreams." With a wave of his hand he produces enough heat to have Yuki melt in mere seconds so that its not painful for her. "I'll leave my job and stay with you Kiba until Yuki returns. I guess that cave we found before is kind of my home, I'll have to reopen the entrance to it, it seems time has not been nice to it." |
Kiba growled at Yemon, he didn't understand what he did, why he made her disappear. Knowing that he could help Yuki, he nudges Yemon to the puddle thinking that he would bring her right back. He then sat down in front of the puddle and stared at Yemon fully waiting for him to bring back Yuki. He almost looked like he was demanding it from it with the stare he was giving him.
Kore just rolled her eyes at Yemon. "Well, you're obviously lying. Everyone I heard always seems happy to have warmer weather. Granted I have to bring in rain at times but you know, the earth needs rain. If I had any control over it, I would have it warm all year round. Even Fall can join!" She smiled. She still talked really sweet and innocent but her words were harsh towards her sister. "Can't you stay here with me? It's not like I will bite. Besides, you need someone to teach you how to use your powers. I don't know the extent of them but I can surely help!" |
He pets Kiba's head, "Sorry Kiba, but Yuki will be back, just not right now." Once again he glares at Kore, "You don't know anything about those who've spent all their lives living in the mountains. All the people you meet here are here on vacation, to see the sights. And during the winter to ski and snowboard. There's people here all year round. But of course winter is too cold for you to talk to them, so you only got to speak with those who didn't come here for the winter activities. Hell, you probably don't even really know much about the winter Olympics since by the time you come around most people have already stopped talking about it. Not to mention there's Christmas and the New year celebrated in the beginning of winter, along with Valentine's day for couples and Saint Patrick's day more towards the end of winter. I don't even know everything about humans so there's no possible way that you could. And I'd much rather ask Kiba how to use my powers than you since you're so self-centered and full of yourself. At least in Yuki's case it was because she was lonely that she was selfish, you're just a nuisance." With that he begins tidying up the place, like he had originally come to do, going to take the stuff to the snowmobile when he remembers that its up on the mountain.
"Damn, Yuki must have used her powers to bring me back here. I'll have to get it later, for now I'll just continue cleaning u-" He falls to his knees, breathing heavily. "The fall, it must be affecting the transition for me to being the new mountain spirit, which would also explain the flares of pain." Yemon says between gasps, staying there for a few moments to try and steady his breathing. |
Kiba whimpered as he stared at the puddle of what used to be Yuki. Kore just stared at Yemon. She never felt so much anger because of one person. He didn't know anything about her. Her emotions translated to the weather as thunderous storm clouds rolled in. The mountain was already getting warmer, the snow had melted a few inches already. Kiba went outside with Yemon and watched as he fell to his knees. Kiba walked over to him and gave Yemon a few licks to his face. His tongue was huge and wet.
Kiba was getting hungry, his stomach grumbled so he ran off, killing a deer and then brought it back to Yemon. He was quite fast about it also, he could easily hunt and be back within a few minutes because of his speed and strength. He wasn't like a regular wolf, and his size definitely was a huge indicator of that. He nudged his head to Yemon so that he could have some of the meat since he was so use to sharing and ate at one end of the deer. Blood stained his pure white fur around his mouth and paws as he tore at the flesh. |
Reaching up he pets Kiba, his breathing a bit hard as the pain hits him again. Yemn doesn't mind Kiba licking him, he's too tired and in too much pain to really care. He just lays there trying to bare through the pain when Kiba runs off and soon returns with the deer. Having just turned into the mountain spirit recently he can't stand the thought of eating the deer raw. Tearing off a piece he thinks about the hunk of meat in his hands being cooked by extreme heat. Soon the meat is cooked enough to eat, though not evenly since he doesn't have control over his powers yet. Munching on the meat in silence, pain shoots through his body every time he shews, but as he consumes more the pain becomes less.
|
Kore got up and walked outside. She was shocked to see Yemon still out there. He looked like he was in pain. "Come inside, I will help you out with the pain if you want." She offered. Even if he was mean to her, he was essentially her boss and if he wanted to kill her, he could so getting on his bad side wasn't the best ideas. Even if it would throw the whole region off, she still didn't want to chance on what he might do to her.
Kiba looked at Kore and growled as he stood between Yemon and Kore. "What, I'm not here to fight." She assured the wolf but he still didn't lower his guard. He never liked her, he never liked any of the sisters. Yuki was his owner, he only protected her and the only one he liked. And Yemon was on his like list also, but no one else. Kore just rolled her eyes. "Listen, I know you hate me but right now, you're in no position to not accept my help, if I offer to you that is. So let's play nicely because we have to keep the weather under control." She told him. |
Yemon is not happy to see her either, but knows he won't be able to get very far if he were to try and leave. Even if he were to rise Kiba he wouldn't be able to hold on if he got a burst of pain again. Finally he sighs, "Fine, but only because I don't have much choice if I want to be able to move around. It's only for that reason I'm going to accept your help, I'm still not happy about your attitude about Yuki." Trying to stand, he falls back over, doubled over in pain.
"Gah! Why couldn't that old man explain anything before he did this to me?" His memory is a bit hazy, not having been able to see much because of his injuries he had received when he fell. |
"Like I care. I haven't done anything wrong, and your bias towards her makes you unfit to be the mountain guardian. Being what you are, you cannot have any feelings towards her. You cannot have any feelings towards me or the other two. Don't think you can rule over us without having a boss of your own. There's always someone who's above you and if they find you unfit, they will get rid of you and appoint a new guardian spirit." She warned him. "Well, if Khione didn't save your life, you would have been taught how to use your powers. That's why. You were suppose to die but she saved you. She should be punished. Only you can punish her though. You can force her to sleep for eternity. Just make a new winter spirit." She stated. Kore didn't care either way what happened to her sister. She didn't know her, she didn't have any feelings towards her.
Walking over to the door, she opened it as she heard a noise and noticed a rabbit. A huge smile appeared on her face as she picked it up. "Oh hello, we meet again!" The rabbit had floppy ears and looked like a huge puff ball. Its fur was a sandy color. Kiba began to growl as he trained his eyes on the rabbit, wanting to attack. "Stay away. This is my pet." She ordered. |
"I kind of figured that there would be someone above me, like Mother Nature, Father Winter, those kinds of people. As for feelings towards anyone, I've never had a friend before, so of course I'd be very fond of them at this age. As for punishment, there's no need for her to be put to sleep forever, things just need to be explained to her so that she understands. As it is she didn't believe that you're even her sister, in the loose sense because I don't think you all are related outside of being beings of nature, thought you were trying to purposely kill her. She doesn't even know that winter ends. If anything its kind of sad that no one has seemed to explain things like this to her, and then you acting like you're the best thing to have ever existed makes it seem like you don't understand hardship, which is what makes me angry with you. And the fact that you're acting as cold as ice when it comes to one of your sisters because you think is better than her doesn't sound like you're worthy as being a spirit of nature since you all have to work together to keep the balance on the mountain." Yemon starts wondering if there's some way to hold meetings for all the spirits to get together in order to try and stop behavior like this and to try and let Yuki feel not so lonely since the other spirits can spend time with each other in the warmer seasons.
When Kore opens the door and he sees the rabbit he gets an odd feeling, "I suspect that all of you have pets, or at least I suspect that. Yuki has Kiba, and you seem to have that rabbit. What I'm really wondering is how that rabbit got inside? Maybe its bonded with you like Kiba with Yuki? If that's the case, how old is Kiba?" He turns to look at Kiba, wondering if he understand what Yemon was saying. |
"She knows the rules. The one who gave you that power had talked to her before she was even set out to be the spirit of winter. He's the one who made it to where she doesn't remember her going to sleep. She revealed herself to you and even saved you when obviously you should have died. I'm in full favor of you being replaced since you have this biased towards her. No one likes her, no one will ever like her besides you. Why would anyone want to be cold? What's so fun about it?"
Kore smiled as she petted the rabbit. "You're really clueless about everything aren't you?" She was very annoyed with Yemon. Kore ignored his questions as she felt like he didn't deserve it. He was making her out to be some terrible person when she wasn't, he didn't know her and here she was offering her help and he still acts like that. "I'm not forcing you to stay here. I offered my help despite how you treat me and you continue to say things that aren't true." She glared angrily at him, really the only tie she didn't sound rather happy and smiling. Kiba wagged his tail as he saw her leave the room. He looked at Yemon and licked his face showing that he was clueless as to what he asked. |
Yemon sighs, just lying down on the ground to rest, affectionately petting Kiba in thanks for the licks. Soon he drifts off to sleep, not feeling any discomfort from being on the floor or too hot or cold.
In the morning he wakens to a bright light shining in his eyes, grumpily glaring at the sun that's out there. Carefully he sits up, feeling achy but not in nearly as much pain as he was. Now that he's rested some he gets a better look at himself, "Well, there's no noticeable injuries, besides the rock shoved in my chest that doesn't hurt at all. And it seems like I heal up pretty quickly, though I'm surprised I slept so easily...s*** I need to call my boss and come up with something." He grabs his cellphone from his pocket and tries to call the lodge, only to get no signal, "Hm...maybe that storm yesterday knocked out some lines, he might be sending someone to this cabin soon since I was coming here originally. How am I going to explain this to them?" Shaking his head he looks down at himself in annoyance at how he looks, maybe if his skin wasn't textured with rock color patterns it wouldn't be so bad. He goes into the bathroom, turning on the water to clean his face, noticing in the mirror that he doesn't look any different from normal with his reflection, and is stunned by this. |
"Oh wow, you look normal in the mirror?" A familiar voice asked and it wasn't Kore either. Behind him, in the reflection, was a girl who looked exactly like Yuki. But she was still different, looking exactly like when Kiba was placed inside of her. "Y-you remember me right?" She asked him curiously. Yemon said he would remember but she was really unsure of that. "Someone allowed Kiba and I to become one again for temporary reasons. They even combined our bodies until I have to wake up." She explained. She wrapped her arms around Yemon. "If that's how you look like in a mirror, maybe normal people see you the same so you don't have to stay in hiding." She told him. She was just so happy to be back, it was written on her face. "But...there's only a certain amount of time I have until Kiba has to take over. I got them to agree that I can be in charge during the day and he gets is at night. Though they never told me why. Still, I'm here." She informed him. She was very perky than before, most likely thanks to her and Kiba being combined and the fact that she was awake.
|
Eyes widening in shock, Yemon turns around and looks at Yuki, even rubbing his eyes to make sure it wasn't because he was still sleepy. "Yuki! I know Kore didn't do this, but who could have? Either way, having you at least around during the day is better than not at all. Wait, does heat still bother you like it did before? I don't want you over heating and getting ill from something like that." Quickly he washes his face, there were no toiletries look a tooth brush he could use, but he got the feeling that wouldn't be needed.
Alright then, let me see if there is something we can eat then, and then I can start teach you the alphabet since I promised to do that for you. We'll do that outside since I don't really think there's anything good to write with in here. Or if there is it's kind of on the small side and would be a waste of materials." |
Yuki was rather relieved that Yemon remembered her. She honestly didn't know how long it had been since she had melted. "There was a bright light and a really beautiful lady with long blonde hair. She told me that she wasn't upset with me for preventing you from dying and just once she would look the other way since technically you were still going to live. But she also told me that once winter comes, I will be normal and I won't be able to do this again." She explained.
"W-well, -what about something else...W-what i-if you showed me your world. You know of mine, I want to see yours. And since you're like my boss, you won't punish me. So...do you think you can give me a tour?" She asked him. She wanted to see more than just this mountain and felt like this would be her best chance at doing that. "And, I want to eat what you eat, or at least, what your used to eat. You know, human food. I would really like that." She told him. She was getting so excited just thinking about it. It showed in her eyes and there was even a faint smile on her face. |
"Hmm...Alright, we can start with breakfast. Which sadly will be canned or boxed foods since they are just emergency supplies. Then after that we need to retrieve the snowmobile that was left on the mountain side." Grabbing her hand he leads her back out into the kitchen, then letting go so that he can rummage through the cabinets. Finally he pulls out a box while smiling, "Here's something we can make, all it needs is water. It's a box of instant brownies, we'll find out if you like sweets."
Pulling out a mixing bowl he rinses it off to make sure its clean, then sets about mixing everything. Pointing to the back of the box he explains, "This explains how this food is made and what needs to be done in order to make it. I'm following as the box says since this is supposed to be a quick-fix recipe. When we get back to the lodge and after talking to my boss we can have some better food. The cooks are great there. Though try not to get attached to anyone there, I don't want you to cause any trouble or break any rules. If you see something going on with other people do not interfere and just let things happen as they are supposed to. Though if you just want to talk you can, just don't hold people up if it seems like they want to get going. Though since I'm the spirit of the mountain now I don't think I can leave the mountain. We can go as far as the base of the mountain, but beyond that I don't think I'm allowed to go." |
Yuki didn't understand what he meant by canned or boxed food or why that would be sad. "Well, it's fine. If that's what humans eat, I will eat it too!" She said excitedly. She took the box and stared at it and looked at the pictures. She then went to taste the box thinking it would be edible for some odd reason, and she was just curious about how it would taste but she quickly took it out of her mouth and shook her head. But what about the colorful side? She shook her head to that also. She sat the box down. She watched Yemon make the stuff and listened along but she was only interested in eating it, not really what he was saying. "Just get it done already." She huffed. "So do humans eat a lot? I mean, if I'm eating this and then what the cooks make, isn't it a lot?" She asked. "And don't worry ,I never gotten into trouble before. But since you're the mountain guardian, you will let me get away with anything so..." She was starting to feel that she would be able to get away with a lot more things than before.
She was getting annoyed with his rules. She didn't really care if she held up others, if she wanted to talk to them, she would since she was finally able to. And if something was going on, maybe she would interfere. Yemon was her friend so he won't do anything. |
"There is a process for everything, and the phrase 'patience is a virtue' is something that comes to mind here." Finishing with the mixing he puts it in a pan and puts it in the oven to begin baking. When she says something about allowing her to get away with things he raises a brow, "Just because you're my friend doesn't mean I'm just let you do things that the others are not allowed to do. If they are not allowed to do something, then you too are not allowed to do something. I also don't want you all fighting either, so since you're going to be here like this for the year until winter comes around again, I'm going to see about all of you meeting one another and try to get you all to get along. Kore doesn't like you, and you don't like Kore, and I don't like the attitude Kore has towards you, and I suspect you might have a similar one towards her." The timer dings and he quickly pulls the pan out of the oven, setting it on the counter to cool, turning back to Yuki.
"I've already told you before that I couldn't tolerate people being mistreated as a kid, and I won't now either. So even if you don't like my rules, deal with it. As for the food, humans eat at least three times a day with large meals, or several smaller meals throughout the day. So by the time we get back to the lodge food should be fine. But we're going to have to cover your ears...unless you can hide them?" |
Yuki wasn't happy to hear about that. She didn't understand why Yemon was treating her just like the others. She crossed her arms and glared at him. Kiba's personality didn't affect her too much, it wasn't enough to completely change her. "I have no interest in meeting my other sisters. They probably never cared about me anyway, just like Kore. So if you do have that gathering, I won't be going."
"I don't know." She shrugged. "I don't think so because Kiba's body was mixed with mine. That means our bodies were combined into one so I don't think I can get rid of them." She stared at the brownies wondering how they would taste, hopefully better than that box they came in. She didn't understand why she had to follow the rules when Yemon said that they were friends. She didn't feel like they were much of friends since he was just going to boss her around. But she had no plans of obeying. Maybe Yemon was bluffing in case Kore was overhearing this, yeah, that definitely was it. She patted his shoulder. "It's ok, I understand now what's going on." Though she probably confused him since he wouldn't know what she was talking about. But Yuki was very sure that she would be allowed to do whatever she wanted. The idea excited and made her tail wag. "So are they done now?" She asked looking at the brownies. |
When she pats him on the shoulder he raises a brow, thinking she might still not understand. Sighing mentally he turns his attention back to the brownies. Holding his hand over the brownies to test the heat, he nods after a moment and gets out a butter knife, cutting the brownie into eight pieces. Once his done he grabs a napkin and places a piece on it, handing it to Yuki.
"Here you go, hope you like it. When its hot out of the oven its really good with ice cream on top, but sadly there is no ice cream here so we'll just have the brownie." Yemon takes a piece for himself, enjoying the dense, soft brownie. Going to the fridge he opens it and pulls out a bottle of water, setting his brownie down so he can open it and hand the bottle to Yuki. "If it starts getting stuck in your throat drink this." Grabbing another one for himself he drinks some, though he doesn't really seem to notice any difference from not having drank it, which makes him wonder if he really needs to eat or drink anything anymore. |
Yuki looked at the brownie and began to eat it. Her eyes lit up as she scarfed it down. She drank some of the water and then went to get a second piece. "Wow, I never had anything like this before!" She said excitedly. She ate a few more slices of the brownie until she felt slightly nauseous. "I want something else though. I think I ate too much and I don't think Kiba likes that." She sighed. "I always see him eating animals, that's what he feeds me so I should eat animals to help my stomach, maybe that's why I don't feel good." She stated as she slapped her tongue around in her mouth as she realized just how sticky the brownie was. "I never had anything so sticky though." She chugged more of the water but nothing seemed to really help much at the moment, it felt like it was all in her teeth and in the back of her throat, she couldn't figure out how to get it all out of her mouth. It tasted good but this really made her reconsider ever eating that again, and yet she had to go in for more slices without realizing what it was doing. It was a short time later that she actually got sick.
|
"Hey, Yuki! You shouldn't do that!" But she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. Sighing he puts the brownies away, cleaning up Yuki and the mess she makes. "Eating so much will get anyone sick, and since that's also Kiba's body you eating all those brownies might have been like eating poison since canines can't have chocolate unless in really small quantities because its like poison to them. If it had of just been one piece you would have been fine." Trying to get her to rest on the couch he hears knocking at the door, going over and opening it to see one of the other lodge workers.
"I take it the power was out here to? Did anyone get hurt during that freak blizzard?" He looks in to see Yuki not looking too well on the couch. "I knocked my head a bit, but I'm fine. And sadly this lady hear got sick from what she ate. Let the boss know I'll be back down when I finish up here." "Alright Yemon, maybe see you around for dinner? You never eat with the rest of us..." He looks away from Yemon, almost as if ashamed of something. "I might, not really sure. Well, see you at the lodge later." Nodding his head the other man leaves, Yemon closing the door. |
Yuki looked at Yemon with a hazy look. "Then why did you let me eat the brownies in the first place?! It's your fault for not even at least giving me a warning!" She said highly angry with him. She felt really sick to her stomach. She laid on the couch with her arms over her head to cover her ears as someone came knocking on the door. She took a peek at the man and studied him. When he left, she sat up and stared at Yemon curiously. "I wanna go with you." She said as she held her stomach as she was about to get sick. "I hope I feel better by tonight, I want to eat human food." She said. It was quite obvious she was going to take a while in getting better.
"H-how do I-I make this p-pain stop?!" She asked. She just wanted it all to end, it was too painful. "I'm never eating that again! But it was so good!" She complained. She struggled to get up, with eat motion she felt like she would heave any moment and then grabbed as much water as possible and chugged it down, and then another one as she went back to the couch. |
"I didn't think you'd like them that much! And I didn't know that it would affect you like that for certain. And I might have to take you there if you don't get better soon." As he packs the brownies away he begins to wonder what happened to Kore and why she hasn't said anything yet. When Yuki complains about the pain be goes into the bathroom to see if there's any medicine can could take, coming back out to see her chugging water.
:Why are you drinking so much water? That's going to make you sick!" Rushing over to her he takes the rest of the water away and sees that she looks like she's going to throw up. Sighing he grabs her up and helps her to the bathroom. "You're better off throwing up, keeping it in you stomach is just going to make things worse." |
Yuki glared at Yemon as he took away her water. "I'm really thirsty!" She stated. All she wanted was to drink and he was keeping her from the water. She felt that Yemon was being too hard on her and felt like he was being really mean to her. It wasn't too long before she finally got sick a couple times. But finally, after that last time, her stomach felt much better like she had gotten all the chocolate out of her system. She went over to sit on the couch and sprawled out. "Yemon, we're stilling going tonight right?" She asked him. She felt weak after all that throwing up. Her body was even shaking.
Kore entered the house, she seemed to have been gone this whole time. She saw Yemon and...YUKI?! "You're not suppose to be here." She looked at Yuki curiously but shrugged and yawned. As so long as you don't mess up spring, I don't really care!" She stressed. Of course she didn't like her sister but she just wasn't in the mood to fight. She honestly didn't like it, she much rather be happy and in a good mood, which she seemed to be in. |
Sighing as his shoulders slump a bit, Yemon nods, "Though you'll have to sleep some to get some strength back. An hour or two should be enough for you. I'll wake you up when we leave." He's a bit startled when Kore enters, not having realized that she hadn't been there the whole time.
"Yuki will be here during the day, and will be like that for a year it seems. Someone high up in the chain of command said they'd do this, though Yuki is not really sure who." Making himself busy he grabs a piece of the brownie and holds it out to Kore, "And please don't be like Yuki and try to scarf the whole thing. She got really sick because she's sharing her body with Kiba again." |
Kore stared at it and then took it from Yemon. "Why do you care? You don't like me." She pointed out and ate the brownie. Kore snickered. "Well of course she would get sick if she's sharing a body with that wolf. They can't eat chocolate, even I know that." She looked over at Khione and sighed. "And you do know her real name is Khione right?" She asked. "And you do know that we don't have to eat really? You can if you want but it's not a necessity. But Khione doesn't realize that most likely, especially since her wolf eats, he probably was the one who fed her." The rabbit that she had was hoping to her. It was such a cute looking bunny with its floppy ears and super soft and fluffy fur. "And yet she's not throwing a fit that her wolf isn't here?
Yuki just glared at Kore, she really hated her. She tried to just ignore her but it turned out harder than she realized but she just had no strength to argue. She was able to go to sleep after a bit. |
It wasn't even midday and Yemon was already getting worn out, sighing and rubbing his temples at Kore's comments. "I never said I didn't like you, I said I didn't like your attitude towards Yuki. As for Kiba and the chocolate, I'm not even sure if he's a normal wolf, he's huge! And Yuki told me to call her that, just like you told me to call you Kore. I did notice not needing to eat, I don't feel hungry anymore, though eating did help me recover from my injuries." Ignoring her snide comment about Yuki and Kiba Yemon continues, "I'm still wondering what this stone is in my chest. I didn't get a good look at the guy that put it in my chest, but it feels like its...pulsing is the best way I can put it."
|
"Well of course he isn't normal. None of our pets are. They are our guardians, just creatures who watch out for us though they do eat." Kore explained. "My nickname is easier for your simple mind is all. Besides, I said you can call me either Persephone or Kore. Persephone being my real name and Kore being my nick name, one I didn't choose since others call me that, not that I mind. Khione on the other hand, she chose her own nick name when her real one isn't hard to remember by people. That's the difference." She said determined to point it out. "Well, I wouldn't know anything about that, I have never eaten before. Maybe Khione might know something. And that rock could very well be the equivalent of a heart." She explained. She petted her bunny. "The snow is almost gone, I was up for a while working on melting it.
|
"So you'd rather I call you Persephone then? My name is Yemon by the way." He's beginning to wonder who the other two spirits are, are at least their names since they seem to have names like that from mythology.
Looking down at his chest he frowns a bit at the rock 'heart', "I would think it being slightly exposed like that would be dangerous, if its anywhere as fragile as a human heart anyways." Poking and prodding it he's a bit surprised at how hard it is, like a normal rock. It was even harder than his skin. "Huh, it's pretty hard, maybe there's a shell around it that protects it." |
Kore shrugged. "It doesn't matter what you call me. Either one is acceptable since both were given to me, unlike Khione." She explained. She petted her rabbit who just stayed in her arms enjoying the attention she was getting from her owner. "Well if that is suppose to be your heart, that shell is there to protect it. I highly doubt that they would have it to where it could easily break, otherwise they would have to look for a new guardian and the higher ups would like that. It's your job to pick the next mountain spirit."
Yuki woke up unable to sleep any longer. She looked walked around and stretched before going over to Yemon and laying her head on his chest as she closed her eyes. "I'm tired but I can't sleep anymore. Is it almost time for that party?" She asked an then let out a huge yawn and stretched some more. |
Yemon wonders what Kore means by that when Yuki wakes up, and instantly latching onto him. "It's not really a party, its just going back to the lodge and getting some normal food. Though Kore says you don't really need to eat and only did so because of Kiba. Which, after what's happened to me, does seem to be the case. I never feel hungry, and only ate food before because I needed the energy." Carefully he peels Yuki off of himself, "But first we need to get dressed properly, a tattered shirt like this is not going to go over well if my boss sees it though..."He looks at what Yuki is wearing, "You don't seem to need to change clothes. I'll be right back."
He goes back outside to go through the stuff he has on the snowmobile, then remembers that its still up on the mountain. Sighing he shakes his head, "This is just a complete mess." |
Yuki sighed as she saw Yemon leave. She was glad that he was going to take her to the lodge where she could be with others. Honestly, she didn't know how long it had just been her and Kiba. She really missed him but at least he wasn't dead, that's what made her ok with them combining bodies, his would still be alive within her so when they separate, he won't be dead and she would be able to live outside her season.
Kore went outside to help change the season, most of the snow was melted and it was still a bit cold, for Kore at least. Sh came back in after heating up the mountain a bit more to get the rest of that snow melted. "You know, you're not suppose to let your emotions control the weather, you control the weather and you control you emotions. If you leave either unchecked, both would be affected. You have to be calm at all times." She explained as she actually tried to be a good sister for once. Yuki just shrugged. "Yeah, I know that." She said blowing off her sister. She had no intentions of reconciling with her. |
Heading towards the top of the mountain, thinking about how annoying of a trek this is going to be for him. Then he becomes confused, turning to look around he sees the cabin far off in the distance, much further than it should have been. Turning around he sees the snowmobile not to far off in the distance, closer than the cabin. Yemon knows he didn't walk that far in this short amount of time. Maybe if he wants to get to a location quickly enough he just goes there? That's something he'll have to try some other time. Getting on the snowmobile he tries riding it back without much success. Looking around in frustration again he notices the scenery change again and sees that he's outside of the cabin.
Deciding to not let it bother him he gets off and begins sorting through the stuff on the snowmobile and then heads back into the cabin to get the blankets that needed to go back to the lodge. He comes in just as he hears Yuki blowing off her sister, sighing mentally to himself as he realizes that Yuki might actually be the hardest to make get along with her sisters. |
