I'd be miffed too. This universe should comply with our desires (as long as they comply with this universe's desires). You can only go so off-kilter with your desires or the universe seems at times to balk.

And there are +s & -s to NOT doing that thing. :P As is the case with everything. Whether the tradeoff is worthwhile, however, is definitely a matter for debate.

The reason why I don't support many such things (Movements, Philosophies, etc.) is primarily because people tend to ignore the minuses completely.

I personally don't think "tradeoff" (a packaged deal) is a good thing in many occasions. Rather than tradeoff, I'd say compromise and correct.

What's amazing though is I distinctly remember an annoucement where they stated hiring people to help them moderate and plan for inflation on the market. It coincided with the cash shop. Probably immediate after or as it was started those couple years ago.

Gaia definitely didn't do a good job combating inflation.

Out of curiosity, I logged in to gaia, and clicked through my inventory some... I've got, like... hundreds of millions of gold worth of items, now. o.o Madness.

In pure gold, I have all of...what, 35k? I wasn't really active there anyhow, and quit about seven years ago. Though I do have a couple million gold in items.

Are you serious?! I remember when new donation items went for 3-5k a piece, depending on whether they were popular or not. That's absolutely insane. I don't see how anyone would put up with those prices, but that probably nets Gaia more donations every month.

Man, although I am glad newer people have options, because being an oldbie shouldn't automatically get you the best, it seriously hurts Gaia's credibility (if it even has any anymore).

I was a poor kid on Gaia because I didn't know its main thing was forums -- thought it was just a game-ish site back then. So I gained gold very, very slowly. Took me a couple months to get the Kong Sang scarf; had my eyes on that one and the red scarf thing for a while. I mean, I'm glad it's worth over 1mil now, but that seems kind of lame given how much gold people are willing to dole out for art.

Yeah, they did the Dtail too. And made another version animated.

Luckily I am so used to the larger Trisphee avatars that the Gaia avatars now look really small and lacking in detail. I still miss some of my items there, though.

I posted off and on there for, oh, 6 years or so? I have a fair number of fancy items. The super old donation items I have (from 2004) are worth less than current donation items. Go figure.
