I often get mistaken for human.
LOL!

Espy 08-14-2011 06:33 PM

I think the purple one was the avi that made me go "...holy shet, Ju's avi's are awesome."

...Eh, nowadays, I've almost always got a male avi.

Reyoki 08-14-2011 06:46 PM

I tend to make rather masculine avatars. Even though I've never actually used a male base on this account, I've had several people refer to me as being male. It's rather amusing when they find out I'm not.

Espy 08-14-2011 06:48 PM

-tilts head- I've never thought of Reyo as male. Speaking of which, once over an MMO, someone told me to prove that I'm a girl (I play as a guy)...Voice chat did not work out well. I've a low voice, and the reply back was "...Sounds like a guy."

-facepalm-

Reyoki 08-14-2011 06:53 PM

It's a lot less obvious when I wear cloaks. That's usually when others get my gender wrong.

It's gotten a little better now that I refer to myself as a fujoshi in my signature. It's a female-specific term, and the male equivalent is fudanshi.

Sadrain 08-14-2011 07:33 PM

Lol, I remember that 1st one! xD I really was a little "wuh gender is dat 1" at it. xD 2nd one is pretty clearly masculine, imo, though.

All my avvies should be, but some were from another site... xD Mostly, you can tell gender what my avvie is, though, even if it is manly dressed girl, such as these: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...ars/TrAv72.png
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...iny/TrAv79.png

Oh... this one... http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...y/TrAv21-1.png I don't even remember my self if it was guy or gal, I would think gal, but.. xD

http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...iny/TrAv49.png (girl, but hard to notice)

Behemoth 08-14-2011 07:59 PM

For some reason, my avatar always gets confused for being a girl...which is really, really confusing, since I've never put a real shirt on him that covers anything. Is it the earrings? O.O

Rem 08-14-2011 08:07 PM

It might be the lips, I had an avatar that got confused for a girl (by an artist drawing it) because it used those lips lol
(And that's what they said made them think it was a female avi too haha even tho I was showing the stomach and the chest was faaairly flat)
The somewhat willowy form of the male avis here can confuse tho

Although I like to think my avis just come across as so MANLY that it's impossible to say otherwise. SO MANLY
YOU CAN SMELL THE MANLINESS THROUGH YOUR SCREEN
WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE HUH

witness these sexy pecs
*flexes them and makes them bounce* hup hup hup hup

Behemoth 08-14-2011 08:52 PM

Probably but they're probably the only mouth I like on the site because all the other ones don't look vaguely-pissed-off enough. D:

And indeed, you are so manly that just by posting after you, I've grown a luxurious carpet of chest hair to rival even Saxton Hale. Would any less of a man be able to pull off leather straps like that without looking silly? I don't think so.

Fey 08-14-2011 09:08 PM

I tend to refer to most 'unknowns' as they...or if I know that someone might have a male persona and be female, or vice versa...That being said I get called on it allllllll the time, as though I was being RUDE by not taking a wild stab at the gender of someone's avatar and/or person.

KittenMitten 08-14-2011 10:35 PM

That has happened to me only once, and obviously you can tell mine is a women :P

MuseSick 08-14-2011 11:50 PM

On other sites I used to get confused for a male all the time, because not only was my username xXMatthewFangXx, but I apparently have a boyish appearance..
I've been mistaken for a boy, even in real photos .__.;
Not just avatars.
I usually do psycho avatars on other sites so it's hard to distinguish. The chest and hands don't show up on straight jackets. xD
Since I find the chest and hands make it more obvious ~

Not just avatars.

HIGH FIVE. Was working at the Tech a while ago, and after I gave an explanation, these two visitors said "Thank you, sir." -sweat-

I even get confused for a boy in-game.....even when my character is female.

That's better than people over voice chat thinking you're a 13 year-old... >.<

Espy 08-15-2011 02:54 AM

Holy crap. Alex isn't wearing black.

Alexander Linden 08-15-2011 03:08 AM
