The yearly sets aren't going to have new item poses. They have poses that were released this year done in new colors. For example, the ears you're currently wearing from Enfield Fragment were released in new colors for the yearly item Grand Antlers.

The current discussion is how I'll be putting the new yearly sets together to get the most items and new colors out of what we have without taking 3 months to get it all done.

So, at this moment, I have 47 different item poses from all across the donation and egg sets released this year picked out to get new colors.

Why don't you just do something like a psd file and do each shade as a layer? That way in the future you can just pick a color palette and recolor it.

We do have set gradient maps we use in ps to make color changing easy for all of our items. That isn't really what takes the most work when we recolor. The recoloring process includes the obvious color picking, as well as sorting and splitting poses, saving images and previews, and keeping it all named and organized nicely in their files to be uploaded.

Changing the colors only takes a few seconds. The rest of the process to turn it into a usable item is what takes time.

Wow! Thank you for all your hard work Gallagher! I look forward to seeing the yearlies when they are released ^_^

ml1201 12-21-2014 08:27 AM

Wish I could help out but that's not something I know how to do, just the recoloring. ^^; Last time someone said it would take a while to get recolors out it was just for one specific item with the make and female versions. So if there were 24 colors it would be 48 they would have to make, and the previews for them was for each color so they wouldn't have to do previews like here. One color was only in one shade and the preview window was your own avi too. Would that also be a process or not as much? These avis were only waist up by the way.

Well, here, we have a program to color items that are only one shade, so it would only take about 20 minutes to have it completely colored and uploaded. If it was being done manually with preset gradients like these yearlies and our other premium items will be, that would take me a solid few hours to do. Considering I'm used to waaaay more colors than 24, though, I still wouldn't say that would take me more than a day even going slow.

Of course, if it didn't use gradients that are a quick click and change, or a similarly easy system, that would be another matter entirely.

ml1201 12-21-2014 05:04 PM

Ah, okay. I didn't know how that would be with doing that, the one site doesn't have a texture thing like this site does, just flat shading with no high lights except for the hair and shiny items like metal. So its mostly just the shading and base color that needs to be done, but then again it is only one person doing it all with no help, though mostly because I think help hasn't been accepted. :/

Ginger 12-21-2014 06:51 PM

That's definitely an extensive amount of recoloring to be done by one person. If you are able to do that Galla, I salute you! -bows head-

Espy 12-21-2014 07:05 PM

IIRC Galla also did all the yearlies last year and all the recolors for the past like two years or something.

ml1201 12-21-2014 08:24 PM

O.O;
Now I really wish I could help out some, if I had the time I would, but college will be picking back up again soon and I might be getting a different job soon. :/

Gallagher 12-21-2014 08:46 PM

Not all, but close to it. I work the fastest in saving everything, so it just makes sense really. Pluuuusssss I get to color things however I want, bwahahaha!

ml1201 12-21-2014 09:53 PM

lol, totally true. XD Oh! Can we get tribal themed tattoo wings? I don't know if we have them already or not. :3

Gallagher 12-21-2014 10:03 PM

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but probably eventually? lmao. We're a bit lacking in the pixelist area at the moment, and while I've been talking to a couple of possible artists, nothing has really come of it yet, so we're a bit stuck.

ml1201 12-21-2014 10:47 PM

Ugh, don't look at me, I can draw some things but I can't do pixal art too well. I was going to practice and work on it but really haven't had the chance and there's some art projects I want to work on too. ^^; (such as doing art for all of the monsters from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow) ^^;

Ginger 12-22-2014 08:03 PM

Galla is the goddess of colors... -bows-

ml1201 12-22-2014 08:28 PM

Galla is a girl? o.o
