When he surfaced, Rosen was laughing victoriously at him.

Long didn't say anything as he wiped some mud off his face.

Rosen laughed only harder as he got a look at Long's face. Then he suddenly reached over and attempted to dunk him.

Long saw Rosen coming, but he didn't move out of the way.

So Rosen dunked him.

When Long surfaced he was completely coated in mud. He shook his hands off a little before getting some mud out of his hair.

Rosen seemed to be having fun as he reached out and globbed some mud on Long's cheek.

Long wasn't having quite as much fun, but he didn't stop Rosen from having his.

Rosen watched the mud drip off of Long's face, "You never retaliate, do you?" he mused before globbing on a matching mudball on the other side.

"Sometimes," Long replied. "But I don't want to."

"Why not?" Rosen asked, dumping a pile of mud on Long's head.

Long brushed some of the pile off so it wouldn't drip into his eyes. After another moment or two he shrugged.

"It's fun," he explained before flinging another mudball.

Long deflected it to the side with his hand. It seemed he was still working on grasping this 'fun.'

"Being dirty is fun," Rosen stated before floating up on his back and kicking mud around.

Long didn't seem to agree, but he didn't argue. After a little while longer he started to get out to go clean up.

Rosen pulled him back in.

Long sighed a bit as he resubmerged.

"Mud baths are good for the skin," Rosen stated.

"... Depends on what's in it," Long noted, not confident in the quality of mud they were wallowing in.

Rosen shrugged a little as he eyed Long, "Do you like me?" he asked bluntly.

Long paused, not looking at Rosen. Then he nodded a little.

"Why?" Rosen asked as he tossed another handful of mud at him.

Long deflected the mud again, but he didn't reply. He seemed to be embarrassed.

"I selfishly dragged out into a mudhole and now I'm flinging mud at you," Rosen stated simply, "I don't get how you like me."

Long still didn't say anything, it would probably take some more encouragement to get any answer out of him.

Rosen moved closer, "I've been complaining to you pretty much since I met you," he continued, "Dragging you around, ordering you to do stuff. I'm naturally selfish in everything and my only good trait is my beauty - which is now covered in mud. How can you like me?"

After a few more moments Long replied quietly as he drew with his finger in the mud, "You... forgave me without expecting anything in return... when you're not grumpy, you try to make me happy. I don't know who I am, but you still seem to believe in me anyway..." He shrugged a bit.

Rosen blinked a few times then gagged, "I do not!" he exclaimed pouncing on Long and attempting to give him a noogie, "How dare you describe me in such gross flowery language!" he declared but Long could tell he wasn't displeased.

Long managed to defend himself a little, but didn't stop Rosen. "What did you want me to say?" Long wined a little. "That I could still see your abs through the mud?"

Rosen paused, glancing down and flexing his abs a bit. When he was satisfied that he could still see them he looked back at Long, "I guess I'll forgive you since you're girly anyway. I suppose it's natural for you to talk girly."

Long didn't reply, still not looking at Rosen.

"What?" Rosen asked moving his head to try and get in Long's line of sight.

Long turned away a bit more, still embarrassed.

"I get that you've never allowed yourself to be attracted to guys before," Rosen stated, "I guess I'm a little overwhelming, being so handsome and all," he sighed a bit before patting Long on the head.

Long remained silent.

"C'mon, I'm covered in mud and look ridiculous," Rosen complained, "Why are you avoiding me?"

After a moment, Long shrugged a little.

Rosen muttered something under his breath before sighing, "Whatever then, be a party pooper like usual," and turned away from him.

So Long continued to be a party pooper. But at least he didn't try to leave right away.
