"Hayden, when we come back you can ride in the front. Unless Solomon want's you to stay there." Holden said as he started the car. He sighed as he drove out of the garage, and driveway. "Now I want all of you to be nice to the horses." Holden said.
|
Hayden looked away with a scoff, "Whatever.." She narrowed her eyes a bit, the red glow reflecting off the window a bit. Hell, she could even drive if she really wanted to..but..she didn't know how. She began muttering quietly to herself.
|
"Don't get huffy." Holden said with a smile. He pulled into Solomon's drive way. "Here we are." He said shutting off the car.
Jason got out of the car when it was stopped. |
Solomon came running down the driveway, shoving Jason back inside and climbing on top of the roof, "Move the car Holden! Hurry up!" The thunder of hooves could be heard coming at full force their way, "Mooovvee iitttt!"
Around the corner came a massive heard of horses; about 23 strong-not including Kali, Zera and Damien[who was at the head; obviously the cause of this]. "H-Hayden..Holden..someone tell them to stop!" He watched as the heard came thundering down the driveway. Hayden became wide eyed as the horses came around, "You said he had four! Holy crap!" She quickly clamored onto the rood with her brother, "Wh-what the hell?" She quickly entered the horses minds, trying to calm them; but they were very panicked and it was hard to get them to listen. |
Holden quickly sped the car backwards so it was in the road.. He got out, "He only had four the last time I checked." He said running closer to the horses. "STOP! KALI, DAMIEN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" He yelled with a hiss as his eyes turned red. The horses stopped almost running over Holden.
"Um we were having fun." "Kali, that doesn't mean cause a damn stampede. And Damien what is your pull in this?" He asked turning to Damien. "Kali told me to help her." "Kali you are in so much trouble. Now everyone back to the pasture. NOW!" He said stepping away. Holden closed his eyes and waited for a second, he opened them and turned to Solomon and Hayden. "There." He said grabbing his head and feeling woozy. He used a lot of power talking to twenty some horses. Holden plopped down on the ground, exhausted. |
Solomon jumped down, chasing after the horses and ushering them back into the large pasture, "You bunch o' fools! I outta get the whip!" He latched the gate shut and hurried over as Holden began to fall backwards. He caught Holden with a smile, "I'm sorry, but thank you. Those beasts thought it'd be fun to run amok...poor Jack...he's going to have a lot cut out for him until they settle."
Hayden jumped down with a laugh, "Wow! Solomon this is even more than last time! You only had 13 when I last saw you!" She twirled around, opening the door so Jason and Amanda could get out. |
"It's ok, at least these horses weren't as scared as Kali and Damien were." Holden said with a weak smile. "And don't say whip around me, I'll get excited." He said to Solomon as he looked up at him. "Why do you need so many horses?" He asked as he tried to support himself. He gained his balance back, but he would have to feed soon. He grabbed his head, it was throbbing. "Hearing the thought's of twenty some animals is quite a lot." He said as he slowly turned around to look at Solomon. He gave Solomon a quick kiss on the lips. Holden turned to Amanda and Jason.
Jason got out of the car and walked close to Holden. Amanda got out of the car and was scared that the horses would do that again. |
"Because I can~ Besides, I need something to occupy my time when you're not around." "Whip, whip whip~" He looked to Amanda with a smile, "Aw, don't worry, hun. They're usually well behaved; they were just having fun."
Hayden held onto Solomon's waist, "Solomon just likes horsies~ Not to mention, they're pretty~" |
Holden smiled, "I'm always around." He said rubbing his hand through his hair. "Don't be so mean." He said with a slight pout. He quickly wiped it off of his face. "I'm sure they wont do it again. Let's go see Kali." He said as he grabbed Jason's hand. He walked over to Amanda and grabbed her hand. Holden headed to the pasture.
Amanda didn't feel safe going over by the horses. But she knew that Holden would protect her. Jason smiled, "You know how to tell the horses what to do, daddy." He said as he clung onto Holden's hand harder. |
Solomon smiled, "Come find me later, I might make it up to you~ Right now, I have to take care of Hayden" He picked Hayden up, watching Holden walk off, "He's so hot..er..sorry Hayden, come on."
|
"Is that a promise?" Holden asked with a smile. He made it to the pasture, "Oh Kali?" He said not being able to find her in the mass of horses.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." "It's fine Kali, just promise me you wont do that again." He said as he let go of Jason and Amanda. "Who is that?" "Jason, I'm fostering him until I can adopt him." He said as he pet Kali's head. "Come here Jason." Holden said as he picked him up. "This is Kali."He said with a smile. "Hi Kali." Jason said with a smile, he gently pet Kali's head. "Do you two wanna ride her?" He asked as he put Jason down. "Yes, I had so much fun last time." Amanda said with a smile. Jason nodded, he was a little scared. He never rode a horse before. |
"Sure is, Babe..oh..just beware..the tack room is a bit of a mess. And..dont go near the new horses, of course. You can take Zera with you if you'd like...one with you and one on Zera...but no more than two people per horse; they're not built to carry more." He set Hayden down, pulling a bottle of cat blood from the fridge, "Here, the mellowest I could find..just..please be careful?"
Hayden took the blood, staring at it with some concern, "I dunno if I should...you know how I get.." "I'll be here, don't worry Hayden." |
"Ok." Holden said. "Um Amanda do you think you would be able to ride Kali by yourself?" He asked looking at her.
"Umm yes, I'm a big girl Holden." Amanda said proudly. "Yes you are. Zera?" He said looking for her. "Yes?" "Do you wanna go for a ride?" He asked looking to Zera. "Sure." "Ok, I'm gonna go and get your tack." He said with a smile. "You two stay right here, I'm going to go and get the tack." Amanda and Jason nodded. Holden went to the barn and opened the door to the tack room. "Oh... My... God..." "You weren't kidding that the tack room was a mess." Holden said afraid to go in. |
"I warned you..we're still trying to organize it all.." He grabbed onto Hayden as she drank the blood. Her eyes became red, yet she did just stand there. She did get tense and he could feel her..slipping away in a sense as her aggression began to grow.
Suddenly, Hayden threw out her hands with a growl bringing Solomon to the ground. She narrowed her red eyes for a moment as she stared him down. She let out a sigh as the blood got absorbed, her eyes returning to blue. She lay on him, curling up, "Wh-why do I do that? I don't want to hurt you again." He stood with Hayden in his arms, moving some hair from her face, "Just don't worry about it..you did good. Hey, later do you want to help me bring the horses in to feed them? I want to show you the horse I got for you. She's really pretty~" Hayden stared, her mouth open and her eyes wide, "Y-you g-got me my horse!? Soly!" She hugged him tightly, purring slightly. |
Holden almost fell on his face as he left the tack room. But he caught his balance, it also didn't help that he was carrying two sets of tack. He sighed as he went back out to the pasture, and went in. He quickly got the tack on Kali, and then he went to saddle Zera. "Amanda, Jason go meet me in the arena please." He said as he finished saddling Zera. "Ok you two be nice and walk to the arena for me." He said as he opened the gate.
Jason grabbed Amanda's hand and ran to the arena. Amanda was surprised when Jason grabbed her hand. But she didn't try and pull it away. Holden followed Kali and Zera to the arena. |
Solomon smiled a bit, "We'll wait until they're out on the trails alright? Im sure she'll throw a fit at the smell of us, so we don't want them to witness that. I think Amanda is nervous enough."
She nodded a bit, "Mmmkay...O-oh! I've been meaning to ask..is it okay if I can have enough blood later to teach Holden his shape shifting..since you cant?" |
"Ok, here we go." Holden said as he lifted Amanda up and put her on Kali. He adjusted the stirrups to Amanda's legs. He put her feet in, "How does that feel?" He asked with a smile.
"Ya." Amanda said with a smile. "Ok, now don't do anything until I get mounted." He said as he went to grab the mounting block. He put it next to Zera, and he climbed up. He gently sat down and adjusted, "Come on up Jason." He said as he scooted back in the saddle. Jason slowly climbed up the block. Holden quickly grabbed Jason and set him in front of himself. "You ok?" He asked. "Y-..ya." Jason said a little nervous. "Ok, let us ride off into the sunset." He said with a laugh as he gently kicked Zera's sides to make her go. "Follow me Kali." "Follow me Amanda." He said as he went out the gate. |
Solomon shrugged, "We'll see...but most likely that will be the case since I don't really know who else could do it. You just have to be a good girl from now on. Alright?
Hayden nodded, "I promise Ill be good Solo. I prroommiissse~" |
Holden heard some rustling in the grass on the trail. "That better not be." He thought to himself. He opened his mind to everything around him, "If your an animal don't you even think about attacking me." He said slightly peeved. "Damn animals, they are swarming to me Solomon." He said narrowing his eyes. A low growl escaped his throat.
"What's wrong daddy?" Jason asked concerned. "Animals, they hate vampires. They tend to attack." Holden said in a whisper so Amanda couldn't hear him. "Amanda how are you doing back there?" He asked looking at her. "I'm fine." Amanda said sounding a little scared. "Good, the trail is almost over. And we will take a break by the pond so the horses can rest for a few." Holden said. |
"Well..I'm sorry..."Solomon smiled, "I know you will..or at least you'll do your best to. While I'm teaching Holden his other powers, we'll slowly get some blood in you and hopefully also work on your aggression issues as well. Does that sound like a plan?" He gave her a slight squeeze, carrying her outside to the pastures. Varies horse breeds and colors roamed about or munched on the grass.
"W-which one is mine?" She stares silently. They were beautiful creatures indeed. Solomon pointed to a light chestnut Holstien, "Her..she's a 4 year old Holstein; imported from Germany wher the breed is most pure.. I thought you'd like her. Her personality matches yours almost perfectly. I think you two will get along very well. Want to meet her alone?" He set Hayden down, letting out a few quick whistles. The mare trotted over with a nicker, "I can take her to the arena if you want to pet her?" Hayden stared at the horse for a moment. She was ssooo beautiful. She reached out her hand to allow the horse to sniff it. She quickly pulled it back as the horse's ears flattened and she squealed. "Shh shh~ Ich würde nie solch ein schönes Geschöpf wie selbst verletzen(I would never hurt such a beautiful creature like yourself). Mag ich pet Sie bitte?(May I pet you please)?" The horse snorted, "Ah,so verstehen Sie uns außerdem(so you understand us as well). Während I don' t mögen Ihren Geruch, you' Reziemlich nettes sich. Dieser Mann sagte etwas über ein nettes Mädchen. .was er über Sie sprechend(While I don't like your smell, you're rather cute yourself. That man said something about a cute girl..was he talking about you)?" Hayden nodded with a smile, "Ja. Bitte?(Yes. Please?)" Hayden was pleased to find the horse lowered her nose again, touching it's velvety surface to her hand. "Ihre Nase ist so weich~(Your nose is so soft~)" "Danke(Thank you)." the Holstein raised her head once Hayden's hand was removed, trotting a few circles near them. Hayden looked over to Solomon, almost forgetting to answer him, "No, that's fine. I can tell she wants to stay with the herd. Maybe in a few days once they've all settled in. I love her though~ She's so pretty and she seems nice. I'll have to teach her English though.." She chuckled a bit, noticing how ridiculous that sounded, "Teaching a horse a language..that's funny, but I know she can do it." She looked to the horse with a smile, "Gehen Spiel(Go play)." The horse nickered and galloped off to meet up with the herd. Solomon nodded, "She's picking it up from me, but if you want the task of completely teaching her a whole new language, have at it. She's yours after all. Do you have a name for her yet? She refused to tell me anything." Seeing Hayden shake her head, he picked her up again, "You'll have to think of a good one." He took her inside, wondering when Holden and the kids would get back. |
Suddenly Amanda screamed really loud.
"Amanda what's wrong?" Holden said covering his ears and turning around. "Rilov, stop nibbling on her dress." He said with a laugh. "Amanda it's ok. It's just one of Solomon's horses. He must of broke out of his stall." He said as he got down off of Zera. "Rilov what are you doing here?" He asked as he lifted Jason off of Zera. "I was lonely." "I'm sorry, you could of asked me to come along." Holden said lifting Amanda off of Kali. "Are you ok kiddo?" He asked holding Amanda. "Sorry." Rilov looked down. "I'm fine." Amanda said sniffling. "Ok." He said giving her a hug. "It's ok Rilov, I think we are just gonna walk back." He said as he set down Amanda. "We are gonna walk back, is that ok you two?" He said also asking Kali and Zera. "That's fine." "I guess." Amanda said wiping her eyes. "Can I ride Zera back?" Jason asked as he pet Zera. "Sure, but just stay with me and Amanda." Holden said with a smile. He picked Jason up and gently placed Jason on Zera's back. "Now take it easy on him Zera." He said as he gently patted Zera's butt. "Ok everyone let's head back." Holden said as he unclipped Kali's reins. He grabbed Amanda's hand and started back, with Kali and Rilov in tow. "Rilov broke out of his stall." Holden said with a small laugh in Solomon's head. |
"That little bastard...that's the third time today. I'm going to have to change the latch on his door." Solomon sighed as he set Hayden down, "I'll be right back..I think to go see if Jack and I can come up with a solution to our escaping horse." With that he headed back outside to the barn.
Hayden nodded, "Okay.." She looked around, wondering what to do. |
"He was just lonely Solomon." Holden said with a smile. "We should be back shortly, but we will have to go because I need to get Amanda and Jason to bed." He said with a sigh.
"What's wrong Holden." Amanda asked looking up at Holden. "Oh nothing, after we get back with the horses we have to go home." He said with a small frown. |
"I understand...I'd offer to have you stay here, but I'm going to be up with Hayden all night trying to figure out how to..repair her." He met up with Jack, discussing various options with him before deciding on putting a pole on the track so Rilov couldn't push the door open. He tested it out a few times, and once satisfied, he waited for the group to return while Jack went to rest.
|
Holden nodded, not that Solomon could see it. He closed his eyes and just listened to the wind gently blow. They made it back to the barn about twenty-five minutes later. He walked into the barn and stopped Zera. "You two wanna help me brush the horses?" He asked as he saw Solomon. He smiled slightly at Solomon, he started to take Zera's tack off. When he was done he put her in her stall. He went to take off Kali's tack.
Amanda nodded with a small yawn. "Sure daddy." Jason said watching Holden take the tack off of Zera. |
Solomon leaned up on the door, narrowing his eyes as Rilov came sulking in, "Yeah, you're in trouble mister. I told you, no trails yet...Rita hasn't given you your check up. Now get." The horse slowly walked into his stall, his face in the corner as Solomon slid the door shut, latched it and put the pole down. Even as he went over to Holden and the kids, Rilov didn't move. "How was it?"
|
"It was really fun." Jason said running up to Solomon. "If daddy say it is ok, can I come back and ride Zera?" He said looking up at Solomon with purple eyes. "Please?" Jason asked with a big smile.
Holden smiled as Jason talked to Solomon. He finished taking off Kali's tack, he picked up Zera's tack and took it to the tack room. He sighed as he put the tack in the right place. Holden leaned against a empty wall and rubbed his temples. |
Solomon crouched down to eye level, "Of course! I can even let you..adopt one of the horses, if you wish. Oh~ I just just the little colt, he's only a year and a half, so he's got a lot of growing to do, just like yourself. He's really sweet, like Holden." "Don't forget, I promised you the whip~" He gave Jason a quick hug, "He's not here right now, but I expect to have him and his sister delivered by the end of the month."
|
"Really?! You mean it?" Jason said squeezing Solomon back.
"I know Solomon. I just don't feel good right now." Holden said with another sigh as he grabbed a couple brushes. He put on a smile as he left the tack room. "Ok Amanda, Jason I want you to watch me when I brush Kali, and then I want you two to brush Zera." He said with a weak smile. He was starting to get dizzy, but he shrugged it off. He knew it was because he used a lot of his power, earlier. He started to brush Kali, but he fell to his knees after a few seconds. |
Solomon hurried over, catching Holden, "You should've brought water with you, you're probably dehydrated. Come on guys, we'll have a light snack then you'll have to go home. I'll take care of the horses when you leave."Hayden, be a dear and grab a bottle of blood from the fridge? Holden is going to need it."
He carried Holden inside, knowing the kids would follow; after he she the stall doors of course. He set Holden down in the dinning room, looking to Hayden and nodding towards Amanda. "Right!" She grabbed Amanda's arm, dragging Amanda to the kitchen, "Come on! Anne knows a wonderful ice cream sundae recipe!" Solomon popped the top off the bottle, handing it to Holden once Amanda was gone, "Here." |
"Probably." Holden said weakly. He grabbed his head when he was sat down. "Thanks." He said as he grabbed the bottle. He quickly chugged the bottle of blood. His headache went away after a few minutes. "At least I didn't pass out this time." Holden said with a small smile.
Jason and Amanda followed Solomon. Amanda was worried about Holden but was excited about ice cream. Jason looked at Holden, "Are you ok daddy?" He asked. "I'm fine, go and get some ice cream with Amanda." Holden said nodding. |
Hayden walked up to Anne, tugging lightly on the edge of her chef's coat, "Anne? Is it alright if I bother you for three sundaes? You just make the most wonderful ones~"
Anne looked away from the cake she was making and smile, "Of course! Let me just finish this rose, get it in a cool place, then I'll whip you up some ice cream~" She quickly finished the roses on the cake and stored it, moving about the kitchen and freezer, grabbing the necessary ingredients. Solomon handed Holden another bottle, "At least, but you have to learn how to stretch your power to it's max without using all of it; which I will teach you in time...I should really have Hayden help you with it as well, she's a master at it." |
Jason walked into the kitchen and looked down at the floor.
Holden smiled as he took the other bottle, "Ya I know, and you will tech me when you can. I don't want you to stretch yourself too thin." He said with a smile. "As soon as I get Jason into some type of schooling, I will have some more time. I think I might have to put him in public for now." Holden said as he took the top off of the bottle and drank it. |
Solomon shook his head, "A public school is not the proper environment for him. You should start small, maybe a small home schooling program or something of the sort. He needs to be gradually introduced into socialization, not thrown into it." He sighed, leaning on a chair, "I still think it's a very bad idea to keep him around Holden...they will find out; and all of us will pay for it."
|
"If everything wouldn't of happened at school, Marsha was supposed to give me some information for home school." Holden said as he plced the empty bottle on the table. "He isn't a half Solomon. You saw his memory. But there has to be something that is making his body masking itself as a half." He said with a sigh. "Maybe you could..." Holden started to say but trailed off.
|
Solomon pinched the bridge of his nose, "I know that. Regardless of what he is, they believe him and others like him to be abominations. The vampire world isn't a fair and forgiving world like your human world is. They don't care he if he's half, strigoi, or a vampir...he will be hated and hunted down simply because he is not a Pure. The Council is going to be amping up their efforts to rid the world of anything bu Pure vampires; and I'm afraid that includes yourself." Stress and aggravation were rolling off Solomon in intense waves.
Anne worked quickly, not wanting the kids to receive half melted ice cream. She finished off four sundaes in no time, having had made one for herself. She handed each of the kids a spoon and a bowl, then took her own and took a bite, "Rather refreshing after a hard day of baking~" Hayden squealed, quickly taking a few bites of ice cream, "Mmmm! You are just so amazing Anne!" |
"Awesome, so you are saying within a year I could be dead?" Holden said with a sigh. "Is there just one council, or is there multiple ones?" He asked rubbing his hand through his hair. "If my kind is an abomination, then why doesn't the council outlaw Pure vampires like yourself from turning human's?" Holden asked slightly pissed at himself for calling himself an abomination.
Jason grabbed the bowl of ice cream and skittered back to where he was before. Amanda really enjoyed the ice cram sundae. "Very yummy." She said with a smile. |
Solomon frowned, "It's already against Law...but you already know that I'm not one to abide by them." His frowned deepened, "I'll be damned if any one of them ever lay a hand on you. " He wished he knew someone close to Ya'lize; someone with influence.
|
"That's why your so sexy." Holden said with a smile. "I know you wont love." He said leaning back in the chair. He sighed, "I wanna just ravage you." Holden said with a wink.
|
Solomon grinned, "Boy, I know you want to do more than that~ But, alas, the kids are here.." He watched Holden for a moment, before face palming, "God! I'm such an idiot! Jeez! Holden, I think I know someone to help us...I have to warn you though..she's..very..dynamic. I've just contacted her and sh-" He was cut off as a woman appeared in the dinning room, her arms crossed over her black dress; seconds later a man appeared next to her.
The woman narrowed her red eyes at Solomon, "This had better be important to disturb us, Solomon. I've got a few issues back in America." She let out a sigh, her nearly white hair covering her eyes a bit. Suddenly, she jumped, quickly adjusting her hat as it had moved. With a smile, she went back to her hard stare at Solomon, her arms crossed over her chest. |
