James ran a hand across his face, "... I have to find Yue," he muttered as he slowly sat up and started to stand.
Nic let James go.
James paused, "... you go first and make sure Laurel's not still with her," he suggested suddenly.
"She isn't," Nic reassured James, still not looking at him.
"How do you know that?" James inquired, not sure whether to believe him or not.
"I know," Nic replied simply.
James paused a moment longer before running off, trying to find Yue.
Yue was in her room.
James knocked hesitantly on the door.
-- Laurel eventually got tired of waiting and snuck cautiously towards the outside once more. |
After a moment Yue opened the door blinking up at James. She looked... normal. Then she let out a sigh. "Thank goodness he left you in one piece," she told James.
-- Nic was still outside, now laying on the ground and looking up at the stars like when they had first met. |
James slowly sank to his knees, head falling forward, "Please..." he whispered, grabbing the front of her shirt, "give me another chance."
-- Laurel paused, glancing around for a moment before shouting, "LUCY!" and running out of the doorway, "You haven't seen a... catlike object run this way, have you?" she asked Nic just as frantically as she had the first day. She wasn't half bad at acting. |
Yue frowned. "Oh, stop it," she told him, annoyed. But a little pain managed to escape in her voice.
-- Nic blinked up at Laurel, not getting it at first. Then after a moment he seemed to get it. But then he couldn't remember what happened next. |
"I'm sorry," James continued, "I can't seem... to stop hurting you."
-- "Oh my goodness!" Laurel gasped, looking into thin air, "I'm so sorry!" she ran over to the air and began 'pushing' the 'motercycle' away. "I insist on paying for the damages!" |
"... Just... stop it," Yue repeated slowly.
-- Nic watched quietly as Laurel pushed the invisible motorcycle. |
"I'm sorry," James barely whispered, still clinging to the hem of Yue's shirt as his head slowly fell forward to rest on her stomach.
-- Laurel looked over her shoulder, "Psst, you're supposed to tell me to put it back!" she whispered. |
Yue cussed quietly as she started to cry. She had promised she wouldn't cry.
-- Nic paused before replying blandly, "... Put it back." |
"Is... this really worth it for you, Yue?" James whispered, not moving, "... This... will probably happen again," he stated painfully.
-- Laurel sighed for a moment before suddenly swaying her hips, "No," she stated defiantly, walking over to him with a seductive swing in her hip. When she got to him she straddled him on the ground, "What're gonna do about it if I say no?" she teased, in a good mood for some reason. |
Yue sighed, giving up on trying to hold the tears back. "... We'll figure it out," she told him weakly, putting a hand on his head.
-- Nic thought about it a moment before replying, "... Lay in the grass until morning when I go to your trailer." |
"I only love you," James said fiecly before starting to cry himself, "I've only... ever... loved you."
-- Laurel chuckled, "So you do remember! You stumbled into my trailer so starving you could barely stand," she stated dramatically, "I'm really your savior, you know" she teased, taking his face in her hands. |
After another moment or two Yue slowly sank to her knees, crying on the ground with James now.
-- Nic didn't comment, but he put one of his hands on one of her hands. |
James wrapped his arms around her in a loose hug.
-- Laurel smiled down at him, "Now... where were we...?" she mused before leaning down to resume her kiss. |
Yue let herself cry for a little while, but then stopped, trying to get them out of the hallway.
James was still rather upset, unable to stop himself from crying but he managed to get all the way in the door.
So Yue closed it before anyone could walk by. She got them both some tissue before sitting down with James on the floor again.
"I'll try," James whispered when he was in better control of himself, "to avoid... her," he promised.
Yue didn't say anything, leaning her head against James. She had managed to stop crying completely now.
James didn't say anything more either, savoring Yue's touch.
Fin eventually found his own way back to his room, nauseous and a bit depressed.
Frei was sitting on his bed, reading again.
Fin blinked at Frei, getting a little more nauseous as he remembered her handing him the big slices of cake.
Frei looked at Fin and seemed a little disappointed. He hadn't gotten any bigger.
Fin grunted a little as he slowly laid down on his bed.
Frei continued to stare at him.
Fin tried to ignore Frei and not puke.
"Sugar makes you sick?" she stated as if not really believing it.
"... A lot of it..." Fin grunted.
Frei slowly reached over and poked Fin's stomach.
Fin grunted, rolling away from Frei.
Frei paused before poking his side.
Fin grunted and shied away from Frei again.
