"We were just going to get more ice cream to go with your cake," Wolfe explained tiredly.

"Oh..." Tulip replied, "Well, carry on." And she walked off.

Too late, James was already walking forward, straight for them.

Raven glanced back at Wolfe and raised his eyebrows. When Tulip was gone, he bowed a little to Wolfe.

"James!" she whispered, staying back. Then she paused before starting to cuss. He was going to try and beat Nic up.

So she got out of hiding, running over. "Nic!" she called. But Nic seemed reluctant to stop.

Wolfe smirked before taking Raven's hand and walking off.

Laurel was too absorbed with Nic to notice Yue either. Until James came out of no where and tried to rip Nic away from Laurel.

Raven chuckled as Wolfe lead him off.

"Nic!" Yue called again as she kept running forward.

Nic pulled away enough to shove James away, irritated.

Laurel cried out a little, "James?! What the ter-?" she was cut off again as James sprung from the ground towards Nic once more.

"Don't kill him, Nic!" Yue shouted again as she came forward.

Nic let James come, looking for a fight now.

James was clearly a little mad as he lunged straight at Nic. Laurel was still too stunned to do anything.

Yue got to Laurel, grabbing arm to keep her back incase she ever decided to to anything.

Meanwhile Nic fought James. James was bigger, but Nic clearly had more skill. After awhile it became clear Nic was just playing with him.

That wasn't clear to James, he was fighting like a madman. Eventually Laurel started struggling against Yue.

Yue did her best to keep Laurel back. "You'll only get hurt," she tried to explain to Laurel.

Nic let James keep coming, letting him tire out on his own. It looked like Nic could do this all night.

James attacked Nic for awhile before suddenly lunging at Laurel with eyes full of lust.

Nic suddenly clobbered into James, knocking him to the ground. "What do you think you're doing, long?" he asked, sounding pissed off.

Yue blinked at James, face blank for a moment. Then she slowly shook her head, trying to drag Laurel off.

James struggled to get up and go after Laurel.

Laurel started to shutter at the look in James' eyes as she let Yue drag her off.

Nic kept James pinned down on the ground.

Yue kept dragging Yue off faster and faster until they were back inside. Then she paused taking some deep breaths as if they had been running, still holding onto Laurel.

James kept thrashing until Laurel was out of sight, then he suddenly became oddly still. He didn't back after that and stayed panting on the ground.

Laurel was breathing hard too, "What... was that all about?" she whispered in a shaking voice to Yue.

Nic kept James pinned to the ground regardless, glaring down at him.

Yue took a few more moments before shaking her head a little, not looking at Laurel. "... He..." she whispered, swallowing a little, "is drawn to you..."

After awhile James took a deep breath, "I attacked you... didn't I?" he muttered.

Laurel pulled away from Yue a bit, "What?!" she exclaimed.

Nic paused before nodding.

--

Yue didn't let go of Laurel's arm. She shook her head a little, struggling with the stark realization of the truth. "... He can't help it..." she whispered.

James started cussing, still not moving to get up.

--

Laurel frowned, "What the terra are you talking about, Yue?"

Nic still didn't move to let him up.

--

Yue took a few deep breaths, not wanting to explain this to Laurel of all people.

James continued to cuss, "... I don't like her," he whispered as if reassuring himself.

--

Laurel stared at Yue, "But he likes you, not me," she stated.

Nic continued to glare at James.

--

"... He's attracted to you," Yue explained quietly.

"She's... not that pretty... her personality is so troublesome... she has no breasts... at all..." and he continued to list off all the annoying traits that Laurel had. Which probably didn't help his case with Nic.

Laurel shook her head, "That doesn't make any sense!" she argued.

It didn't. Nic started to grind his foot into James' gut a little.

Yue shook her head, she knew. "If he sees you, it will start all over again," she said tiredly.

"I don't know why this keeps happening!" he spat at Nic as he grunted at the foot in his gut, "It's only with Laurel! Do you really think I'd be stupid enough to actually attack you?!" he demanded.

Laurel shuttered again, "Why?" she asked, not getting it.

Nic grinded a little harder. Maybe he did think he was stupid enough.

--

"I-I don't know," Yue replied, voice a little shaky as she turned away.

James stared up at Nic, eyes conflicted, "You really think... I'd willingly leave Yue behind and sprint after Laurel? That makes no sense, Nic!"

Laurel blinked, "... He loves you, Yue," she whispered.

"Hmm," Nic mused, letting up just a little. But it seemed like he wanted a better explanation.

--

Yue didn't say anything. And after a moment she started to walk away.

James didn't have an explanation, he continued to look up at Nic with an expression asking for help.

--

Laurel paused, "If he sees me... he'll react like that again?" she called after Yue.

Nic helped him, by keeping him on the ground.

--

Yue paused just long enough to nod before continuing to walk off.

James didn't say anything else.

--

Laurel paused, not sure where to go. Eventually she ended up back in Nic's room.

Nic kept James down for a few more minutes before finally letting him up.

James didn't get up.

Nic brushed himself off a little, waiting for James to get up.

James let out a particularly heartfelt stream of curses, "... I just got Yue to trust me..." he muttered, frustrated.

Nic glanced off, not really looking like he was paying attention.

"... if I don't see her... this won't happen, right?" James asked quietly.

Nic didn't reply, still not paying attention. Supposedly.

Slowly James sat up, staring at Nic, "... Then I can't see her again," he decided before sighing, "though... that's no practical."

Nic still said nothing, letting James figure out things for himself.
