"Ok, and it was nice having coffee with you too." Alicia said with a smile as she stood up. "I'll probably get you around 5:30, Holden will probably serve around 6:00." She said walking over to Alexander. She grabbed the piece of paper and quickly put it in her dress pocket. "I'll see you in a few hours." She said placing a quick kiss on his cheek. She quickly walked to the car. Alicia got into the car.
"I'm sure we will figure it out in time Solomon." Holden said as he pulled out of the drive way. "I hope the girls had a good day." He said hoping they did. |
"I'm sure Hayden had...oodles of fun.." he said flatly.
Alexander nodded, "Sounds good." He jumped when she kissed his cheek again. While he wasn't caught off guard nearly as bad as the first time, it was still surprising to him. He did smile a bit as she drove away, shoving his hands in his pockets as he started home. |
"Please don't say it like that." Holden said worried. He was getting nervous as he got closer to the school. He pulled into the school parking lot, he took a deep breath, "Here we go." Holden said as he got out of the car.
Jason quickly got out of the car and ran to Holden. He grabbed onto Holden's hand. |
Solomon got out of the car, appearing agitated right now, "Oh believe me..if only you knew.." He shoved his hands into his pockets as Marsha came out in a huff with Hayden in tow behind her. "You might want to hunt Amanda down without me.."
Marsha stopped a few feet in front of Solomon, holding Hayden by the wrist, "You told me she was..devilish, but you never said anything about how devilish. We've had a rather..exciting day..haven't we Hayden?" Hayden looked away, hiding her grin, "I.." |
"Oh god." Holden said grabbing his head with his free hand as he saw Marsha coming out with Hayden. He went into the school not wanting to see Amanda sitting outside Marsha's office. Of course she was, "Amanda Marie! What did you do?" He asked slightly angered.
Amanda jumped when she heard Holden, "I...I didn't do anything." She said not looking at Holden. "Don't lie to me Amanda." He said putting his hand on his hip. "They were making fun of me, since you are my brother. And you are taking care of me." She said not looking up. "I punched the boy in the nose." She said with a pout. "Amanda, you know better then that. We will talk more about this at home." Holden said not wanting to make a scene. Amanda stood up and quickly ran out to the car, hiding her face. Holden sighed as he followed her out to the car. "Well on the first day, this is a new record." He said rubbing his temples. |
Solomon rubbed his temples, "I'm so sorry Marsha..I..have no idea what got into her.." He looked down at Hayden with a scowl, "Well?"
Hayden twiddled her fingers, "Well..Uuuhhh...this boy..was being mean t-to Amanda..a-and..she punched his nose..a-and..it...blee-" Solomon looked to Marsha, "Oh my god..what happened in there.." Marsha sighed, "I have no idea..I came just...as Hayden tackled him.." Hayden spoke again, "I..I-I'm soooorryy S-Solomon...I.." She looked away, composing herself, "I..I didn't..hu-hurt him a..lot..b-but it wasn't my fault! T-the..blood.." Solomon pinched the bridge of his nose, "Marsha I'm so so so sorry, I'll pay for anything you need me to. Can I see where it happened?" Marsha shook her head, "Nothing really bad..just..Grendel..he'll be okay, but his nose was broken quite a bit.." Solomon nodded, taking Hayden from Marsha with a scowl, "I'll pay for his bills, give his parents my number so they can call me. And don't worry, Hayden will not be getting off so easily." She nodded, "One more move like that and she's expelled..just beware." She turned and hurried back inside. |
Holden was mumbling when he got to the car. He opened his mouth to say something, but he was too furious. "The first day? Really Amanda?" He said as he got into the car. "And then you get Hayden involved. You are so grounded, for two weeks. You got that?" Holden said as he started the car.
Jason let go of Holden when they got close to the car, he got in. Amanda got into the car and held back tears. She nodded when Holden talked. |
Solomon took Hayden to the car and set her down so she could get in. As he got in the front seat, he spoke to Holden, "Don't be so mad at Amanda, it's mainly Hayden's fault. I have a feeling she..helped Amanda in her decision." He leaned back in the chair, pinching the bridge of his nose with a sigh.
Hayden got in and buckled her seat belt without a word. She glanced to Amanda and mouthed, 'I'm sorry' before looking out the window. |
"That may be true Solomon but it was Amanda who threw the punch, not Hayden." Holden said sill very pissed as he drove out of the school parking lot. "Amanda you will do your homework and then go straight up to your room, understand?" Holden said clenching the steering wheel almost ripping it off.
Amanda nodded to Holden as a few tears fell down her cheeks. |
Solomon sighed, "Holden, knock it off. She obviously understands she's in trouble, you don't need to make her cry." Damn his soft heart. He turned around to Amanda and Hayden. He handed Amanda his handkerchief, "Shh, it's alright Amanda." He turned back around, not addressing his little sister, "You know, I thought twins were supposed to be alike..not..complete opposites.."
|
"I know Solomon." Holden said with a sigh. "Actually 95% of the time twins are opposite." He said as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He quickly pulled it out when he stopped at the red light. "Magna.(Great)" Holden said in a quiet tone, as he put his phone back in his pocket.
Amanda grabbed the handkerchief from Solomon and wiped her tears away. Jason snapped his attention to Holden when he spoke Latin, "Daddy quid male?(Daddy what's wrong?)" He asked worried. "It's nothing Jason." Holden said as he took off from the red light. |
Solomon closed his eyes as they drove, "You're in big trouble Hayden...you promised me you wouldn't cause trouble. Don't make me regret saving you from the House."
Hayden tensed as Solomon finally addressed her, "I-I'm sorry. I..I t-tried to control..b-but..a-at least..I..didn't..b-bite him." "Just be quiet Hayden...You need to stop acting like a child and start acting like the adult you are. You're going finish the first half of the semester, then I'm pulling you and you will drop your childish antics and appearance. Do you understand?" Hayden shook her head quickly, "Noo, Soly, you said I could be whoever I want, and I want to be me; like this. I know you're mad now, but you're always happy when you see me, especially like this. You don't like the real me.." She quickly pushed herself away from Amanda and farther into the corner of the seat. |
Holden pulled into the drive way, and shut the car off when he was close to the door. He got out of the car with a sigh. He went inside and saw Alicia sitting on the couch.
Jason got out of the car and rushed inside, he sat down next to Alicia. Amanda slowly got out of the car, and walked inside. She instantly went to the study to do her homework. "Well hello there Holden." Alicia said with a smile. "Hi." Holden said slightly bitter. He went to the kitchen to get started on supper. When he got into the kitchen he instantly grabbed a bottle of wine and opened it. He grabbed a glass and poured it full. "I really wish I could get drunk." Holden said to himself. "Well someone's grumpy." Alicia said. "What happened Solomon?" She asked as she saw Solomon enter. |
Hayden skittered out of the car before Solomon could say anything else. She followed Amanda to work on their homework.
Solomon sighed, running his hand through his hair, "Don't worry about it Alicia...he'll get over it sooner or later." He sat down on a chair, closing his eyes. |
Holden felt his phone vibrate again, "Stop calling me." He said as he threw his empty glass in the sink shattering it. He sighed looking at the glass. He went to the fridge to grab the ingredients for dinner.
"I hope so." Alicia said as she heard the glass shatter. "Do you think Holden will be ok for when my date comes for dinner?" She asked looking at Solomon. |
"I'm not sure..oh wait~ A date~" He opened his eyes, leaning forward, "Ah, so that's who you were talking to~ I'm sure Holden will have settled down by then...he can't stay mad at his sister for very long."
|
"Ya he is really sweet, and cute." Alicia said with a smile. "Don't you go and embarrass me." She said pointing at Solomon. "Actually in about an hour he will apologize to her. Just like you he has a weakness for his sister." Alicia said.
|
He nodded, "Indeed. Oh, Alicia, if it stops you from getting so bitchy all the time, I will do whatever it take sot ensure you two end up together. Trust me." He laughed slightly watching her expression.
|
"Thanks Solomon." Alicia said as she went to get cleaned up.
*** Holden sighed as he put the food into the oven. He went to the study as he wiped his hands on his apron. He entered the study and saw that Amanda and Hayden were still doing their homework. "Hayden can you excuse me and Amanda, I would talk to her for a second." He said as he went over to Amanda. He kneeled down as he waited for Hayden to leave. He looked up at Amanda when Hayden was out of the room. He sighed, "Amanda you know I love you right? It's just that you can't go around and hurting people when they pick on you." He said with a slight frown. "Look at me, I was the only openly gay person at my school. I got picked on almost every day, but I never hit someone." He said brushing her hair out of her face. "Now when you are done with your homework I want you to write an apology letter to the boy you hit, ok?" He said as he placed a kiss on her forehead. Amanda nodded, "I know and I'm sorry." She said looking down. "I will, does that mean you aren't mad at me anymore, and I'm not grounded?" Amanda asked looking down at Holden. "First I have to see the letter you write, and then I will decide if you are still grounded." Holden said as he stood up. "Now back to your homework, supper will be done in about forty-five minutes." He said with a small smile as he went back to the kitchen. |
Solomon sighed he waited for everything to be ready, "Alicia, the regret from Amanda and Hayden is driving me nuts. Is it alright if I ride along when you go pick up your friend? I need to get away, even if for just two minutes." He stood as he rubbed his temples, really wanting to get out of the house.
|
"Ya I guess but you are riding in the backseat." Alicia said as she headed to the basement.
Holden felt his phone vibrate again, "Come on." He said as he answered it. "Stop calling me." He said angered. "No this is not up for discussion." He said slamming the phone shut. He sighed as he leaned on the counter. Alicia pulled out her phone as she made it to her room, she dialed a number and put the phone up to her ear. "Hi Alexander, dinner is almost ready." She said with a smile. |
Alexander jumped, nearly dropping his camera as he heard his phone buzzing on the table next to him, "Dammit! Now I missed it.." He watched with a frown as the bird flew off. "Oh well.." He quickly answered it, smiling to see it was Alicia's number, "Hello Alicia. Well, I'm at my apartment, I'm just out on the balcony. So I should expect you here in about..15 minutes?"
Solomon laughed, "As long as I get to leave for awhile...or..how about..I drive and you two can sit in the back?" He grinned..fast driving. |
"No your not driving, that poor boy is scared enough of cars. He would die if you drove." Alicia said. "Yes about." She said as she quickly ran a comb through her hair as she hung up the phone. She went back upstairs, "Holden is it alright if I take the BMW to pick up Alexander?" Alicia asked leaning in the kitchen.
"Do whatever you want." Holden said still leaning on the counter. "Something is wrong Holden. Tell me." She said crossing her arms. "Nothing is wrong, now go get your date, the food will be done shortly." He said as he grabbed another glass and poured wine in it. "Ok." She said as she went into the living room. "Ready to go?" Alicia asked Solomon as she grabbed the keys. "Jason?" Holden asked as he grabbed some plates and silverware. "Yes daddy?" Jason said as he ran to the kitchen. "Can you set the table in the dining room for me?" He asked holding out the dishes. "Yes." Jason said as he grabbed the plates from Holden. He went into the dining room. |
Solomon hurried after Alicia, leaning over her slightly and tempted to take the keys, "Aw come on, I'll only drive fast on the way there, I'll be gentle on the way back. Come ooon~"
Alexander nodded, again, not that she could see it, "Alrighty.." Next thing he knew, the line went dead. He blinked a bit then put the phone in his pocket, rushing through his apartment to get his hair back in order. Stupid wind. |
"Now your like a six year old child." Alicia said as she slammed the keys into Solomon's hand. She went out the door and got into the passenger seat. "If you do anything to ruin this I will hurt you." She said as her eyes narrowed to slits.
"All done daddy." Jason said with a smile. Holden sighed, he turned around with a smile on his face. "Thank you buddy, now you can go watch TV until supper is ready." He said with nodded to the living room. Jason nodded and ran to the living room. |
Solomon laughed, climbing into the car with a fake gasp, "Alicia, I would never~" However, the devious grin at his face suspiciously suggested otherwise. He quickly started the car and peeled out of the driveway, gathering the location of Alexander's apartment from Alicia's memories. "I want you out of my hair; and Holden's, as much as possible throughout the day. You and the kids disrupt our private time~"
|
"Ok, gross. I want to get out of his hair more, he is getting stressed again and I don't like it." Alicia said as she quickly buckled her seat belt as he peeled out of the drive way. "I wish he would tell me what's wrong now, I know its not Amanda." Alicia said with a sigh.
|
Solomon frowned, "It happens when his phone rings...the person on the other end is the source, though who it is, I have not managed to find out..but..I don't want to go snooping in his mind either..." He slowed to a stop as they came to Alexander's apartment. "Well hurry up, don't want to be late~"
|
"I know, I don't want to either." Alicia said with a sigh. "I'm going, now be good." She said as she got out of the car. She walked up to Alexander's door and knocked. "Oh Alexander." Alicia said in a singsong tone.
|
Alexander hurried to the door, pushing his glasses up as he opening it, "Ah! You're here a lot sooner than I expected. You just had to drive so fast to come get me~" He chuckled a bit, grabbing his bag and heading out the door, making sure it was locked.
|
"Ya plus Solomon drove because he gave me the guilt trip." Alicia said with a smile. "And Holden said dinner would be ready sooner." She said as she gently grabbed his arm, and headed to the car. She opened the door and waited for him to get in.
|
Alexander tilted his head, "Why did Solomon come? Ah, doesn't matter..oh..the BMW..whhyy.." He he had no doubt that the BMW was much safer than the Mustang, he suddenly got a dreading feeling being around Solomon. Something was rather off about the man.
Solomon looked back as Alicia and Alexander got in, "Aww..such a shame~" He winked. "A-uh..what?" "It's a shame that you're hetero~ You're rather handsome~ Ah! Don't let me bother you, I'm just...in one of those moods, I guess, from my sister causing a ruckus at school..Either way, you two buckled in? I have a feeling I lied to you Alicia~" Alexander quickly looked away, a slight pout on his face. He didn't say anything as he had no idea what to say. Solomon did creep him out a bit now, but that wasn't to say they still couldn't get along right? |
"Solomon James!" Alicia said as she slapped Solomon hard on the shoulder. "Solomon if you dare speed I will kick your ass." She said narrowing her eyes.
"I heard that Solomon." Holden said slightly jealous. Alicia pulled out her phone and pretended to text Holden. She knew Holden was listening. "I just told Holden what you just said. You are soooo gonna get in trouble when we get home." |
"Oh come on now~ You know I was just playing~ I only love you Holden~" Solomon winced as he was slapped, "Hey, you don't have to slap me..."
"P-please..listen to her?" He blinked a bit, this was going to be a very interesting evening. Solomon sighed, "Fine.." He put the car in Drive and drove off, only speeding by 5 or so Kph. Soon, they were back at Holden's house. He pulled into the garage and shut the car off, "Happy?" Alexander got out of the car with a heavy sigh, "I'm sorry, I just don't like cars that much Solomon." |
"Your lucky Solomon." Alicia said with a frown. "You didn't have to get into a huff Solomon." She said as she got out of the car.
"Your gonna have to make it up to me later." Holden said with a smile. He went to the study, "Dinner will be ready in a few, so you two go and get cleaned up." Holden said as he wiped his hands on his apron. He went into the living room, "Go get ready, dinners almost ready." Holden said as he went to the door. "Ok." Amanda said as she went to the bathroom. "Ok daddy." Jason said as he ran upstairs. |
Hayden flinched, half expecting a pan to her head, "Y-yes Holden." She knew she was still in trouble from the incident at school; she could feel it in Solomon's thoughts. She went into an unoccupied bathroom and quickly made herself presentable and washed her hands before coming downstairs as Solomon and Alicia came in with a human.
Solomon frowned, "I'm not in a huff Alicia, just a little sad~" He smiled, heading inside and sighing at the sight of his sister, "Hayden, please, it's done and over with. Alright?" Alexander tilted his head a bit, not expecting Solomon's sister to be..so young. He looked to Alicia, "Does she always dress like that?" Not that he had anything against one's style; he just never saw someone who wore a kimono on a daily basis. I twas rather..interesting actually. |
Alicia chuckled a little bit, "Ya she does, but she's six." She said looking at Hayden with a smile.
"All clean daddy." Jason said as he came down the stairs. "Good boy Jason, I wish I could say the same for myself." Holden said as he showed off his dirty self. "By the way, to formally introduce myself, my name is Holden. And that is Jason, and Amanda should be coming shortly." He said as he extended his hand, as he looked down the hall. "I'm coming Holden." Amanda said knowing Holden was waiting for her. She quickly dried her hands and ran out to Holden. "Good, now that we are all here we are having chicken parmesan for dinner." He said as he led everyone to the dining room. "Sit where you wish, what would you like to drink Alexander?" Holden asked heading to the kitchen. |
Hayden pouted a bit, "Hey! I'm five hu-" She muffled behind Solomon's large hand, her face becoming slightly red as she got angry. She pushed his hand away, "Yeah yeah, I knnnoowww" She crossed her arms and sat next to Amanda, not looking at Solomon.
Solomon sighed, "I'm going to kill her.. Hayden's always like kimono's, and quite frankly, she does look adorable in them." He followed Holden to, "Guess I won't be sitting next to you..Amanda will sit on one side, and I know Jason wants the other.." He leaned on the wall, peering back into the dinning room. Alexander stared a moment; something was off about that girl as well. He smiled as he shook Holden's hand, "Just water please..and it's a pleasure to meet all of you." He motioned towards the dinning room, "Ladies first." He smiled slightly; corny, and 'young' but you know what, just because he was doesn't mean he couldn't still be a gentleman. |
"That's your punishment for what you said to Alexander." Holden said with a wink. He kissed Solomon on the cheek. He went into the kitchen and grabbed the drinks, wine for him, Solomon, and Alicia. Water for Alexander, Jason, Hayden, and Amanda. He brought them in on a cute little carrying try. He handed out the drinks and went back for the food. He entered the dining room and started to serve the food.
"Let me know what you think." Holden said with a smile as he sat down for the first time in hours. He was just about to take a bite of food when the doorbell rang. "Crap, excuse me everyone." Holden said as he laid his apron on the back of his chair. He went to the door and opened it, he sighed. "Get off of my property." He said yelling a bit. Alicia sat down, "It smells good, what do you think Alexander?" She asked with a smile. She frowned when the doorbell rang, "Just let it be Holden." She said, but Holden already left the room. Amanda sat down, she smiled a bit. She was still upset over what happened at school but she didn't wanna make Holden mad again. Jason sat down and smiled as food was placed on his plate. |
Alexander nodded, sitting next to Alicia, "It looks delicious Hol-" He blinked, seeing he had already left the room, "Ah..umm...does he do that a lot?"
Solomon frowned, "Admit it, he's...oh I give up." He waited a moment as Holden stormed out of the dinning room, peering over into the living room as he opened the door. "I don't understand what's going on Alicia.." Hayden ate her food quietly, occasionally glancing at Amanda or Alexander. "Did you finish your math homework yet Amanda? I haven't started..." She hated math, and was bad at it even after 500 years. |
