James nodded, took her hand again and then charged out of the room. The smoke was getting thicker and the resort began to tip. It was slowly starting to sink.

Laurel wasn't with her animals but she had definitely been there. All of them were packed away in a hovercraft that was on the lawn of the garden but she was no where to be found.

Zala was waiting with Long in the Juttle before putting a hand to her ear and blinking, "What? Rosen hasn't checked in?" she muttered an oath at the brainless pretty-boy, "I'll find him," she stated to Wolfe before getting up.

Once Kale knew Blaze was at the resort he went looking for her.

So Nic sprinted for his room to grab a few things before bumping into Raven and helping him get to the Juttles.

"... Do you need help?" Long asked Zala.

It wasn't too hard to find Blaze. She was making her way to the Juttles with her briefcase.

When Nic got to his room all the things he would have taken were already gone. Apparently Laurel had been there too.

Zala turned to Long, "Can you managed it?" she asked, "If the brat's injured somewhere I won't be able to carry him back on my own."

Kale caught up with Blaze, coughing a little at the smoke, "You alright?" he asked, green eyes flashing.

Long gave a short nod before dropping everything he didn't need and quickly following after Zala.

"... K-?" Blaze asked, not quite as effected by the smoke. "Fine," she replied, still heading for the Juttle.

There was a second explosion, the fire had found something highly flammable.

"Any idea where he could have gone?" Zala asked Long after the resort had stabilized after the second explosion.

"Hurry!" Kale ordered Blaze, grabbing her arm as he started to run towards the Juttles.

"No," Long replied to Zala.

Blaze muttered something, but she didn't argue as they headed for the Juttle.

Zala pulled a mask from her pocket and put it on before tossing a second one to Long. Then she headed into the smoke, muttering something nasty under her breath.

Once they were near the Juttles, Kale pushed Blaze unceremoniously inside one before looking around, "Where's Nic?" he asked Raven.

Long caught it and put it on quickly before following Zala.

Nic was just coming in as Kale spoke. "... Where's Laurel?" he asked.

"Let's start with his room, he'd want to save his precious games I'm sure," Zala explained. But when they got to his room there had been no sign of Rosen.

--

Kale blinked, "I haven't seen her," his eyes found Frei who had been at the Juttles the longest, "Has Laurel come in?" he shouted to her. Frei shook her head as she turned and looked back at the smoke. The resort shifted again, struggling in an effort not to tilit.

Long managed to grab a handful of games and put them in his pocket before following Zala to the next place.

"I'll find her," Nic promised before grabbing a gas mask and running into the smoke.

"Maybe he went to grab a snack before heading to the Juttles and got trapped," Zala muttered, not having much faith in Rosen.

--

Laurel was difficult to find. She wasn't in her room or even near it. But as he got closer to the fire he heard her shouting for help. She seemed to be near the gun range.

So Long started heading for the kitchen with Zala.

So Nic started sprinting for the gun range.

No Rosen. "Well... I suppose he could have gotten knocked out by the annual blast. Let's check around the hospital," she stated, remarkably calm.

--

It looked like Laurel had gotten trapped in a hallway in front of the gun-range by a partial collapse of the ceiling. She was lucky the fire hadn't reached all of that artillery yet.

Long was also remaining calm, still following after Zala.

--

Nic didn't waste any time, digging out enough around her face to put the mask on her before digging Laurel out.

The smoke got thicker by the foot as they got closer to the hospital. "Ah!" Zala stated, finally breaking out into a run as she pointed to a patch of bright red showing through the haze.

"Dominic!" Laurel cried out in surprise as she struggled to help free herself, she had a tightly sealed backpack on.

Long quickly followed after Zala toward the red patch.

Nic didn't waste any time getting Laurel free and helping her up.

Rosen was knocked out though it didn't appear to be much more than a bump on his head. The real injuries were his hands, which clutched a metal box which was clearly too hot to be touching with bare hands. His hands had already been severely burned and he wasn't letting go.

Zala cussed, "That's your box," she spat at Long as she got down and tried to pry Rosen's hands off the box, "The fool came back for your box!"

Laurel wobbled a bit from all the smoke she'd inhaled but nodded to Nic, steading herself on his arm.

Long helped Zala pry Rosen's hands off the box before helping Zala pick him up.

Nic gave Laurel the mask again before starting to take her to the Juttles.

As Long picked up Rosen, Zala wrapped her coat around the box and picked it up, "Of all the times for him for actually act selflessly," she muttered unhappily.

Laurel leaned on him for support but was able to walk at a crisp pace, "I got your stuff," she told him.

Long didn't say anything as he gave Rosen his gas mask and started heading back for the Juttles as quickly as he could.

--

Nic didn't say anything, inhaling as little smoke as he could.

Zala followed as quickly as she could behind him.

--

Laurel paused before trying to pass the mask back to him.

Long kept up a good pace, Sheng defiantly hadn't chosen him as a bodyguard just for show.

--

Nic didn't take it back right away. But after coughing a minute later, he took the mask back for a little while.

Zala slowly started to fall behind. She was tiny and hadn't been trained as an assassin.

--

Laurel did her best not to cough for as long as she could, trying to use her sleeve but it was no good and soon she was coughing raggedly once more.

Long didn't slow down for Zala; she knew the way.

--

So Nic gave Laurel the mask back, trying to work his way to the Juttle as quickly as possible.

Wolfe met Long as soon as he reached the Juttles, looking over Rosen before sending both of them to the medical Juttle.

--

Even with the mask, Laurel was in bad shape by the time they arrived.

So Long jogged over to the medical Juttle.

--

Nic immediately took Laurel to the medical Juttle.

Snow was inside and was taking a careful look at Rosen's hands and had Long breathing in Pure Oxygen from a mask when Nic and Laurel walked in.

Laurel suddenly bent over and began to cough up the black gunk that she'd inhaled. Snow went over to her and helped her out of the backpack.

With everyone accounted for, the Juttles began taking off.

Long was breathing the oxygen, but he was also helping with Rosen's hands. He took over when Snow went to help Laurel.

Nic helped Snow with Laurel, giving her some pure oxygen.

Luckily for all of them, Rosen was still knocked out cold.

Laurel wouldn't down until Nic was also breathing in pure oxygen. Then she slowly sat down, looking light headed.

Zala, who had come in last, placed the box on the ground before grabbing a pure O2 mask for herself.

Nic and Long helped out where they could. When Laurel was doing better, Nic went to see what was going on.

Rosen's hands were almost entirely third degree burns. Snow was cursing almost continuously because it would take awhile to treat. "What exactly did he do?" she asked Zala.

"He went after Long's possessions.. which just happened to be in a metal box... which just happened to be near the site of the explosion.

Snow paused, "Wait..." she muttered.

"He did something selfless," Zala stated and Snow turned to look at her, just as shocked as she'd been.

There had been no sign of CLIKZ since the first attack and they weren't being followed. For now, Wolfe explained, they would be heading back to James' mansion.

Long wasn't taking any time to be shocked, still working tirelessly on Rosen's hands.

--

So Nic went back to everyone else and helped where he could.

After while, Snow gave Long the reigns as she went to check up on Laurel. She was still coughing up stuff but was watching Nic. "When... did you get back?" she asked hoarsely.

--

Kale had gotten into the same Juttle as Blaze but was giving her some space. It was fairly obvious he was staring at her a little too often though.

--

Frei seemed depressed.

"... Just now," Nic whispered back.

--

Blaze seemed a bit disoriented from the smoke. She didn't look at anything in particular, focusing on the wall in front of her.

--

Fin was still a bit in shock, but he sat next to Frei quietly.

Laurel coughed a little before leaning over and resting her head on his shoulder, "Impeccable timing... as always..." she murmured.

--

Kale finally approached her, "Do you need some pure O2?" he asked.

--

Frei eventually got up and went over to Raven, crawling into his lap.

Nic didn't try to keep the conversation going.

Blaze finally glanced up at Kale before shaking her head slowly.

Fin glanced over, watching Frei a little before looking away. Raven stroked Frei's hair a little. After a few minutes he pulled Fin over, leaning him against his side.

Laurel didn't mind, closing her eyes as she rested.

Kale nodded, pausing before taking a seat beside her.

--

There was a flash as Tulip took a picture of Raven and the kids, a wicked smile on her face.

Blaze remained quiet, not sure what to say.

--

Raven rolled his eyes a little, not looking too disturbed.

Kale didn't seem to know either so silence fell between them.

--

When they had to stop for gas, Kale took the opportunity to get out and stretch his legs. Also to get away from the silent he didn't know how to break.

--

Laurel also stood, a little wobbly, but determined to check on her animals.

--

Frei appeared to have no desire to move but Wolfe entered the Juttle to check on Raven.

Blaze also stretched a little, but she stayed on the Juttle.

--

Nic helped Laurel walk.

--

Raven gave Wolfe a small smile. Fin had fallen asleep at his side, so he wasn't getting up anytime soon anyway. It looked like Raven had made a quick stop by Wolfe's room. He had rescued a few things including Wolfe's silly hat and the violin he had bought.
