Solomon kissed Holden lightly on the neck as he shut off the water, "I say..we do take a mean shower" He smiled, gently pushing himself off Holden using the tiled wall, "And I do mean..mean shower." He winked as he started to dry his body, "Can I know what's for dinner or that a surprise as well?" He quickly blocked his link with Alicia from Holden as he spoke to her, "So..what did Jaelynn say?"
Holden smiled, "Yes we do." He stepped out of the shower and started to dry off. He smirked, "But it is always the best." He sighed contently as he pulled on his boxers. "It's a surprise." He smiled as he gave Solomon a kiss on the lips. He finished getting dressed, he grinned evilly as he saw the bite mark on Solomon's skin. "Oh darling I'm sorry for that." He ran his index finger from his eye to his chin in a fake tear. "I do promise you that you will love it." He smiled as he watched Solomon get dressed.
"I'll tell you when Holden is cooking. You may be good at hiding your emotions, but not in front of Holden. And this is bad." Alicia sighed as she brushed her wet hair. |
"Alright. He should be going off to cook soon." Solomon quick got dressed, tying up his tie as Holden watched him, "If it weren't for Alicia and just plain old decency, I think you want me to walk around naked with the way you look at me. Personally, I wouldn't mind." He winked, "You better hurry up before I get tempted to distract you~" He opened the door, motioning for Holden to go first, "Ladies first~"
"That would be lovely." Holden smiled as he looked Solomon up and down. "Distraction's are nice." He winked as he walked to Solomon. He slapped Solomon on the butt, "I have to slap your ass too." He grinned as he walked out of the bathroom with a bounce in his step. He quickly twirled around, "Now no peeking." He smiled as he turned around. He headed to the kitchen.
"Ok Solomon." Alicia said cracking her neck. She waited for Holden to walk into the kitchen, she disappeared and landed on the couch in the living room with the TV. "Solomon I'm in the TV Living room." She made a bottle of vodka appear in her hands. |
Solomon grinned, sucking in a breath as he bit his lower lip when Holden smacked him, "Oh I can distract you alright." He winked back, teleporting to Alicia. "Well?" He was thankful Alicia was a vampire as well, then he could lower his tones so only she could hear. It would be a shame to waste power using all that telepathy.
Holden smiled as he walked into the kitchen, he quickly set the oven to broil. He grabbed out a whole fish from the refrigerator and started to clean it.
Alicia took a long drink from the bottle as Solomon appeared. "Charun Demons are after us. I take it you have no idea what those are." She sighed taking another drink of vodka. "From what Jae has told me they are basically the bounty hunters of the Ethereal Realm." She paused for a moment. She scanned Holden's mind, "So he has been feeling it to." She rubbed her temples. "Charun Demons can break our bonds very easily. And we can sense them somewhat. The feelings you got from Chris... She is most likely one of them..." She sighed. "The six of us are in a load of trouble." Alicia took another swig of vodka. "Want some?" |
Solomon shook his head, "No thank you..I'm saving my appetite for dinner." Even though he basically just lost it. "I see. I won't let Chris now that I'm aware of it. Maybe I can try and learn something about these Charuns while she's distracted with the show tomorrow. As long as I don't let on I know, she will continue to act as she has, I'm assuming." He sat down on the couch with a sigh, running his hand through his hair, "Did she give any advice on what to do?"
"Just to be careful... She's going to talk to Mystic after this French thing is over." Alicia sighed. "Honestly, can't we just fucking live our goddamn lives?" She made a vase explode. She shook her head, "But I'm sure Mystic and Jaelynn will figure something out. Maybe on how to please Vanth." She chugged the rest of the vodka.
Holden sighed as he washed his hands, "Your paying for that Alicia!" He chuckled slightly as he dried them. He pulled out a glass, and a knife. He ran the knife across his wrist quickly and held the cut over the glass. When it was about half full he quickly tied a towel around his wrist. He smiled as he left the kitchen and entered the TV living room, he kneeled down next to Solomon. "Here darling drink. You need your strength." He smiled. "I'll be fine, ok?" He gave Solomon a quick kiss on the cheek and went back to the kitchen. |
Solomon blinked a bit as Holden came out with the blood filled glass. "Umm.." Before he could respond with anything, Holden was already back in the kitchen. He sighed, handing the glass to Alicia, "Here.." He looked away, tilting his head slightly away from her, "..I'll be careful."
Alicia looked at the glass, "You drink it.." She put the glass on the coffee table in front of Solomon. "I feel weird drinking his blood." She shivered slightly. "You best be. And I will watch over Holden tomorrow. So you don't have to worry about him." She put her hand up. "I know you will still worry about him, but it will put you at ease a little." She sighed looking at the empty bottle of vodka.
Holden shook his head as he entered the kitchen. "What to make for dessert?" He pondered for a moment. His eyes lit up as he went to gather the ingredients. |
"I don't want it." He sighed, "I really don't want to go to the show, nor leave you two alone. I don't think Chris is the only Charun about. Earlier, when we were at the storage locker in Connecticut, he said he felt it. I made him brush it off as exhaustion."
Alicia sighed, "Solomon, we have to keep going like we don't know what is going on." She grabbed the glass of Holden's blood and quickly downed it. She shook in slight disgust, "I scanned his mind a few minutes ago and that wasn't the first time. Over the past month it has happened five times, six if you count today." She rubbed her temples. "I think they are going after him first, because he is human." She sighed.
Holden was whistling as he was rolling out some dough, suddenly his vision started to blur and he felt weak in the knees. He started gasping for air... |
Solomon tensed slightly, "Seven.." He glanced to the kitchen, "I don't know if I should go..I mean..I can't let him know that I'm aware of what's going on..he'll pester one of us until he finds out..." He clenched his fists slightly.
Alicia growled slightly, "This is fucking bullshit Solomon." She clenched the empty bottle and shattered it. "I have to go..." She quickly got up and ran to Holden. She grabbed Holden's waist, "Breath Holden, you must of gotten flour in your lungs." She started rubbing his chest while making sure his heart kept in a steady rhythm. "Shhh. Shhhh. It's ok Holden..." She was relived when he was able to breath again. "You have to be more careful with the flour." She chuckled trying to make him feel better as well as inserting a memory of him making flour fly up into the air.
Holden was starting to cry because he couldn't breath. When Alicia grabbed him he felt his lungs loosen up and was able to breath again. He coughed, "Thanks Alicia." His voice was slightly horse. "I can't believe I did that, I feel so stupid." He chuckled as he looked to Alicia. Alicia put on a fake smile, "Ya well don't worry about it ok? Just go back to making the food. Just be careful." She hugged his slightly and walked back to the living room. She plopped down on the couch, "I gave him a memory of making the flour fly into the air." She sighed looking to Solomon. |
Solomon had already leaned back into the couch and closed his eyes by the time Alicia had come back, "How well can you act Alicia?" She was not going to like the plan forming in his head. He knew that much for sure.
"Depends why?" Alicia crossed her arms. "How come I have a feeling that your thinking of a plan and it has you gallivanting off and getting yourself killed?" She narrowed her eyes.
"Because it probably does...and you pretend..that..you're me?" He cracked open on eye, peering over at her, "I know you can shape shift, and I know you're actually rather proficient already. Since Holden is human, you don't have to worry about the aura..but it's the feelings that would get you caught. Or...you can go hunt down Chris for me...you're choice. Pretend to love Holden, or possibly get killed." He looked forward and closed his eye again, waiting for her response.
Alicia was a little shocked by this, "Solomon... You a fucking idiot, you know that?" She growled. She stood up and transformed into Solomon, "You have one hour. I'll only be able to hold it for about an hour and a half. Especially since I'm doing your clothes too." She sighed. "You owe me big time." She crossed her arms.
Solomon grinned darkly, "I will make it up to you, I promise Alicia." With that, he vanished.
Alicia shook her head as Solomon disappeared. "Now what?" She sat down on the couch where Solomon was sitting. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes. "Way to fucked up." She sighed.
Holden quickly wiped his hands off on a towel. He looked at what he just put together and was very proud of himself. He walked out of the kitchen and into the living room. "Darling where did Alicia go?" He asked looking at 'Solomon'. Alicia opened her eyes and cleared her throat to manipulate it to be Solomon's voice that came out, "I don't know love, she said she was going to go somewhere." She shrugged. Holden nodded and quickly sat on 'Solomon's' lap, "I have a little time before I have to put the rest of dinner in the oven..." He trailed off as he kissed 'Solomon' on the lips passionately. Alicia's eyes got wide a little, but she played the role. She wrapped her arms around Holden's waist and returned the kiss. She didn't like it at all... Holden broke the kiss, and laid his head on 'Solomon's' shoulder. "I love you so much Solomon." He started rubbing 'Solomon's' chest. Alicia nearly gagged but didn't, "I love you to Holden." She smiled even though she was fully creeped out. "But you should go check on dinner, I think something is burning." Holden quickly sprang up and ran to the kitchen. "Oh my god..." She freaked out and started rubbing her lips with her sleeve. |
Just before one hour had passed, Solomon reappeared on in the living room, out of sight of the entrance to the kitchen. He had, of course, made sure the coast was clear before appearing. He bit his lip, trying to hold back laughter as he looked to Alicia, "I have a feeling, you're revenge will be quite..devious." He pushed Alicia out from his spot and sat down, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned back, "A load of help that was..." his voice was layered with sarcasm.
"You have no idea how much I'm going to hurt you." Alicia stood up after being pushed away. She quickly changed back to her original appearance. "Holden was in here like ten times and four of those times we fucking made out." She shivered. She walked back to the other couch and sat down. "Whatever Solomon." She crossed her arms in a huff. "That was so disgusting, and the way he trailed down my cheek..." Alicia shivered again.
Holden pulled out a pan from the oven and gave it a quick smell. "Ahh yes he will love this." He smiled as he laid the pan on the counter. "That will be a few more minutes." He nodded as he shut the oven door. He walked out of the kitchen and headed to the basement. "Welcome back Alicia. But I hope you know that you don't get any of the food." He waved and opened the basement door. He searched through the wine racks and picked out a nice looking white wine. He quickly went back upstairs, he leaned into the kitchen and put the bottle on the counter. He sighed as he walked back into the living room. "Dinner will be ready in about ten minutes darling." Holden smiled to Solomon and went to the patio door to start setting up the table. |
"I can't wait Holden...it smells delightful." He smiled a bit as Holden went out to the patio. Once his back was to them, his face became serious again as he looked to Alicia, "Look I'm sorry...but I had to take care of something."
Holden smiled as he smoothed out the gray blue tablecloth and laid the white china on the table. He straightened out the tea candle bowls, and made sure the blue flower centerpiece was in the center of the table. He quickly arranged the silverware and placed the navy blue napkins on the plates. He took a step back and made sure everything was on the table. He sighed contently as he nodded, he stepped forward to light the candles. "Perfect." He smiled as he went back into the house.
Alicia sighed, "Its ok Solomon." She stood up and stretched. "What ever you did it better have been good." She shook her head. "I'll be up in my room if you need anything." With that she disappeared. |
"I will make it up to you I promise Alicia." He glanced over to Holden with a slight smile, "I'm finding it harder and harder to wait my dear~"
Holden put the lighter back into his pocket, "Just two minutes darling." He smiled. "You can go and sit if you want." He trailed his finger down Solomon's cheek as he neared him. He sighed silently as he walked to the kitchen. He glanced at his watch and quickly put the pot holders on his hands. He removed the broiling pan and set it on the counter. He grabbed a spatula and removed the fish from the pan and laid the fillets on another plate. "Beautiful." He smiled as he grabbed the plate and a bowl. He hummed as he walked out to the table.
Alicia sighed as she started to change. |
"I think I shall." He stood, smoothing out his clothes as he headed out to the patio. He sat down in one of the chairs, folding his hands neatly in his lap.
Holden smiled as he walked out to the patio, "Ok, so... We have Orange Marinated Orange Roughy. And Couscous salad." He placed the bowl and plate on the table. "And I have one more thing." He smiled as he walked back into the house, a few moments later he came out with a basket. "Homemade buttermilk biscuits." He smiled again as he sat down. "I also made dessert." He looked at Solomon as he grabbed the bottle of wine. "This time I didn't break my nose." He chuckled as he grabbed Solomon's glass. He filled it halfway and placed it in front of Solomon. He filled his own glass and took a sip as he set the bottle down. He grabbed the spatula and laid a Roughy fillet on Solomon's plate, "There you go darling. And..." He trailed off as he grabbed the spoon in the Couscous and place a few spoonfuls on Solomon's plate. He did the same for himself, "Let me know what you think." Holden smiled sweetly at Solomon as he crossed his legs.
Solomon smiled a bit, taking a sip of the wine, "This looks really delicious Holden..you didn't have to make something so elaborate." He took a small spoonful of the salad, nodding a bit as he chewed it, "Very delicious Holden."
"You deserve it Solomon." Holden smiled as he cut a piece of fish. He chewed it and nodded. "Thank you darling." He smiled again as he took a bite of the Couscous salad.
*** Solomon smiled a bit as he licked his fork clean, "You spoil me with these delicious meals Holden." He set the fork down and rested his elbows on the table as he leaned forward. "You really should be a chef Holden. You're a natural." |
Holden gently laid his napkin on his empty plate, "I'm just trying to get you a little chunky is all." He chuckled as he leaned back in the chair. "I couldn't be a chef, I wouldn't be able to stand being in a hot kitchen for ten or twelve hours." He smiled. "But maybe I can go into business with Anne. She sell her cakes and I sell pies... Unless my apple pie wasn't good." He stared at Solomon. He looked at his watch, "It's ten P.M." He sighed. "I need to get to bed. I have to get up in eight hours." He rubbed his temples. "Are you going to spend the night darling?" Holden smiled slightly.
"Your pie was amazing Holden. I'm sure Anne would love to work with you..so as long as you don't make her drop a cake again. I can't believe she went out and stabbed Alicia about that.." He chuckled, standing up, "Of course I will. I'll have to be in Ireland early tomorrow though, Damien's going to try to do his jumps tomorrow. Hopefully...we don't have another incident.." He lifted Holden from the chair, kissing his cheek, "Boy talks tough, but he's such a chicken. Either way, you go get ready for bed. I will handle this. You'll need all the sleep you can get my dear."
"I'm just glad she didn't stab me." Holden smiled. "Tell him good luck for me. I have to be up at 5 A.M., to shower and eat something. And to wake Alicia up." He sighed. "Damien is quite the character." He nodded. "Thank you Solomon, you can just load them in the dishwasher. I'll start it tomorrow before I go." He gave Solomon a quick hug. "Just come on up when your done." He smiled rubbing Solomon's chest. He headed inside and went to the stairs. He sighed contently as he entered his room, he quietly shut the door. He set his alarm clock after he got undressed. Holden pulled the blankets down and got under the covers.
Solomon quickly, but quietly, worked to get the dishes rinsed off and into the dishwasher. He cleaned off the patio table, placing the tablecloth napkins, and other dressings out of the way downstairs in the basement.
When he was finished, he teleported upstairs to Holden's room. With a silent sigh, he pulled his tie off and slipped out of his vest. He set the two on a chair, running his free hand through his hair. What was he going to do about this Charun business? He pinched the bridge of his nose while his left hand quickly unbuttoned his shirt. Suddenly, he sucked in a pained breath as his hand went numb again. He bit his lip, flexing his fingers. He winced with every movement and as the sensation spread up his arm. Was this the Charun trying to weaken the bond to his body, or was it just messing with him? He growled a bit, using his telekinesis to try and dispel the feelings. |
Holden was facing the window fully awake while he waited for Solomon. He heard Solomon growl, he sat up. "Solomon? What's wrong?" He turned the lamp on. He was slightly blinded by the sudden brightness in the room. He looked at Solomon who was flexing his hand repeatedly. "A..." He trailed off not knowing what to do or say.
Solomon glanced up, wiping the distressed look from his face, shaking his hand a bit with a slight smile, "I'm fine..I just hit my hand rather hard downstairs is all." He turned away from Holden, slipping his shirt off and pulling off his belt. "It's really nothing to be worried about." He winced a bit as the numbness hit his shoulder, making his arm twitch a bit as he pulled off his pants and folded them neatly and set them on the dresser.
He turned back around with the same smile, "Now come on, you need to sleep. You've got a big day ahead of you." He came over, crawling into bed with Holden and kissing his cheek, thankful he was leaning on his right arm at this moment knowing his left could not support him now. "Thank you for the wonderful dinner Holden. It really was amazing." |
"If your sure." Holden gave Solomon a skeptical look as he turned around. He smiled slightly as Solomon kissed his cheek, "Your welcome Solomon." He laid back down facing Solomon. "I expect you to get some sleep as well." He scooted closer to Solomon as he waited for him to lay down.
Alicia started scanning the property for anything as she felt Solomon's pain. She growled, "I don't feel anything on the property, they must be able to do it long distance..." |
"I know..I've been searching as well.." He let himself down on the bed, biting his tongue in a careful manner so Holden could not see, as he forced his arm up and lay over Holden's waist. He had to try hard to not let it just fall. "I'm positive. You've just got a rather thick counter down there." He chuckled a bit, resting his head on the pillow, "Now rest."
"They are marble counters." Holden smiled. He moved his head so his forehead was resting against Solomon's. "I will darling." He sighed contently as he closed his eyes. He fell into a light sleep after a few minutes.
"This is getting out of hand Solomon." Alicia sighed as she adjusted on her bed. "And we aren't going to be able to keep this from Holden forever..." |
