James stared at Yue with a condemning look, "I've done everything I could think of for you... and it's never enough! Never! You know what?" he stated, "I'm done... I'm done," he repeated before turning to leave.
|
There was a pause as the words sank in. Then suddenly Yue lunged forward to wrap her arms around James' arm. "No!" she shouted.
|
James let out a string of curses and didn't turn to look at her but didn't pull away either.
|
"NO!" she shouted louder as her grip tightened. Her eyes started to tear up, but she somehow blinked them back this time. "No, you're not!" she continued, a low growl to her voice as she let the pain turn into anger instead of sadness.
|
"Why shouldn't I be?!" James growled back, "I'm starting to question if you're really worth all of this, Yue!" he spat.
|
Yue's grip suddenly loosened. That had clearly stricken a cord. But she didn't let go. And after another moment her grips started to tighten again. "... No," she whispered. "You... don't mean it... And I won't let you make me cry."
|
James shook his head after a moment, "What about me, Yue?" he whispered.
|
"... You're upset," Yue continued quietly, still gripping him tighter. "... that I can't love you right. But I can't because I didn't want this; I didn't want you to change so much. I never wanted the perfect guy... I just... wanted to know... that the guy I'm holding loved me for all the right reasons. And I know that now... So please... stop being perfect. I can't love a perfect man... Just the flirty rock star I first met."
|
"The only me you can love... is the rockstar," James repeated quietly, "... So if I can't... go back to being that, you'll never love me," he stated in a horribly blank voice, "But when I was that way, you couldn't love me either."
|
Yue was silent for a moment before punching James lightly in the side. "Log," she complained quietly. "I try to be symbolic, and you take me literally." She was silent a little longer before explaining, "I'll find a way; whoever you end up being. But this isn't you. We both know that... I... just want you to be happy... truly happy."
|
James was silent for a long moment before slowly turning and looking down at Yue. His gaze searched her eyes, "... Do you really mean that, Yue?" he asked quietly with a slight frown. He didn't appear to believe her.
|
Yue gripped James' arm even tighter, not looking like she'd ever let go. She was silent for a moment before whispering, "I... never thought anyone could love me like you do... So I'll do whatever it takes. I want nothing more than to love you like you love me."
|
James was silent for a very long time before he slowly turned and faced Yue. "If you truly mean that," he said quietly, "kiss me right now."
-- Rosen rolled his eyes a little, "You have to admit it's better than the Hawaiian shirt." |
James could barely get the 'now' out before Yue put her arms around James' neck and her lips were on his just the way he liked.
-- After a pause, Long gave him that one and nodded a little. |
James was a bit startled by her quickness but then slowly wrapped his arms around her lower back. He'd been craving her affection.
-- Rosen grinned, that was a start. "Okay, come pick out your own pants." |
So Yue kissed James as long as he wanted.
-- Long sighed a little before going over to the pants and glancing them over. It took a long time, but in the end he chose the pair that matched the shirt the best. |
Slowly James started kissing Yue back, hands coming up and running through her hair. There was a bit a old James in his kiss.
-- "Oh~" Rosen exclaimed, "You do have a good sense of style." |
Yue recognized it and tried to draw a little more of it out.
-- Long didn't say anything as he went to the bathroom to change. |
It worked for a little while, James shining through a little more before he suddenly pulled away. It seemed to exhaust him. "... sorry," he breathed.
-- By the time Long came out, all the clothes on the racks had disappeared into his drawers. Not folded of course. But Rosen was pleased with himself. |
Yue didn't seem to mind as she rested her head on his chest.
-- Long didn't notice or didn't mention it. Likely the latter. |
James gently wrapped his arms around her, resting his cheek on the top of her head. "You really believe we'll pull through this... don't you?" he whispered.
-- Rosen sat down on Long's bed again, "Why do you train so much?" he asked with a yawn. |
Yue nodded a little.
-- "... It's part of my job," he replied. |
James nodded back slightly, "Alright... Then I'll give it my best shot too," he promised quietly.
-- "But it's not your job anymore..." Rosen reminded him. |
Yue leaned up and kissed James lightly on the lips before wrapping her arms around him in a hug.
-- Long paused before shrugging. |
Rosen sighed a little, "Do you like set patterns, Long?" he asked after a pause.
|
Long shrugged, not understanding what Rosen meant.
|
James hugged Yue back before lifting her off the ground a little.
-- "Do you like having your day planned when you wake up?" Rosen asked, "Does free time... scare you?" |
Yue let him, her feet dangling just off the ground.
-- Long had to put some thought into that. "... That's how it's always been," he decided. |
The old James would have tossed her over his shoulder and walked off to find Tulip but James set her down instead, "Okay... let's go find Tulip then," he told her quietly, tucking some of her hair behind her ear, "and get this necklace off."
-- "But that doesn't mean it's good... it's like you're making yourself a schedule so you have no time to think for yourself," Rosen explained, "Ergo... I'm going to kidnap you~" |
Yue paused before nodding. It was close enough.
-- Long didn't seem too frightened. "... I've already been kidnapped," he noted. |
Rosen rolled his eyes a little, "That was less 'kidnap' as it was a rescue," he informed Long.
|
"The initial intent was to kidnap me," Long noted. "And I never asked to be 'rescued.'"
|
"True, but you should have asked. Considering your injuries were an inside job," Rosen shrugged.
|
"There's no proof of that," Long snapped with a hint of aggression.
|
"Yeah... there is," Rosen replied quietly, "Both Yue and Nic agree."
|
"They have both been away for a long time," Long defended. "The Yin Long changes quickly. And there are many people trying to spread ill rumors."
|
Rosen sighed a little, "Okay, Long," he stated as he laid back on the bed, "Regardless, I think you're much better off here."
|
Long still didn't seem to completely agree with that, but he didn't argue.
|
"You'll see," Rosen yawned, "in time. Yue has."
|
Long didn't say anything as he looked for socks and shoes to match the rest of the outfit.
