Finally Rosen made it back onto the bed where he curled up around one of Long's pillows and slowly drifted off to sleep.
So Long let Rosen sleep.
When Rosen woke next, he still seemed confused. He stood slowly, towel falling off but he didn't notice as he headed for the door.
Long fiddling with some of the materials at the craft table. "... Rosen?" he asked without looking.
Rosen stumbled to a stop, he blinked at Long with recognition. Then he looked down, "... Why am I naked?" he muttered, "Were... we in the middle of something?"
Long shook his head without looking back. "You were wet, so I took your clothes off. But your towel must have fallen off."
Rosen blinked, "... Wet..." he repeated before looking around and finding his towel. When he picked it up he wrapped it around his waist and continued for the door.
Long didn't stop Rosen.
-- Fin slowly came to a stop at the entrance to the theme park, eyes staring widely at everything there was to take in. He had clearly never been to one before. |
Frei hadn't been either, but she didn't make that known as she walked right up and bought two tickets.
It took Fin a few minutes for his mind to catch up, but then he started to get more comfortable and started acting more like a normal boy his age checking out a theme park with a cute girl that was his age. He found a map and asked Frei where she wanted to go.
Frei didn't seem to have a preference as she looked around slowly.
So Fin grabbed Frei's hand and started walking around the park with her until something caught one of their eyes.
Frei seemed interested in all the prizes in the gaming section.
So Fin walked Frei around that part of the park awhile, trying to figure out what she was the most interested in.
Again, anything with bright colors drew her gaze.
Eventually Fin tried to encourage Frei to play one or two of the games with him.
Frei didn't seem to get the point of such simple games, she nudged Fin forwards to do it for her.
Fin wasn't too interested in the games themselves either. So he waited around a little longer to see if one thing caught her eye more than the rest.
Yep. But of course it was the biggest prize there. A giant stuffed bright green jaguar.
Fin looked a little intimidated. Of course she wanted the best. But he sucked it up and gave it a try. And then another. But then he dug around in his pocket and his face fell. It looked like he had used up all his money.
Frei handed him a wad of money, looking like it was pocket change.
Fin glanced at it, suddenly feeling even smaller. After a long moment he took the wad and glanced through it. It was just about as much money as his entire life savings. His mood still seemed low, but he tried for the jaguar a few more times. He wasn't half bad, but he wasn't good enough for the grand prize. Fin gave up when he won one of the smaller prizes.
Frei tilted her head at the smaller prize before, thankfully, she hugged it and seemed content enough. She didn't take back to the rest of the money as she looked at another game.
Fin sighed inwardly as he followed Frei's eyes. He tried to hide his mood the best he could, trying to soak in as much fun as he could to turn the day around.
Frei was actually eying the skateboards, which were the grand prize in this one. No one was winning them though, this one was a skill game. There was a ladder, suspended over an inflatable cushion. The end of each ladder was attached to only one rope making balancing near impossible.
Fin watched someone try the game, but he didn't suggest either of them try it out.
After watching few people try and fail, Frei stepped right up, handed the man three dollars and then stared at the ladder.
Fin stood back as he held her stuft animal for Frei, not sure if he wanted to watch this or not.
Then, without further hesitation, Frei stepped forwards. Her first step was a little wobbly, she didn't crouch or try to crawl up the ladder. It looked like she was planning on walking up it. But after the first step she seemed to find her balance and she slowly walked up the entire thing. When she was at the top she grabbed the sky blue skateboard that matched Fin's eyes and then proceeded to walk back down the ladder.
Fin wasn't too surprised, but he was still amazed. Frei lived on a completely different plane of existence.
Frei walked right up to Fin and held out the skateboard.
Fin blinked at it, confused. After a pause he pointed at himself, trying to make sure she didn't just want him to hold it.
Frei shoved the board at him, irritated that he wasn't taking it.
So Fin quickly took the board. "... Thanks," he told her quietly before handing her back her stuffed animal.
Frei took the stuffed animal before pausing and then kissing Fin's cheek. The crowd that had gathered applauded.
Fin did his best to hide his blush. Then the peer pressure started to get to him, and he leaned down to kiss Frei's cheek back.
Frei didn't seem to realize he was doing that because right as he leaned down, she turned and headed for the ferris wheel. There was some laughter from the crowd.
Fin tried to use the skateboard to hide his face as it got a little redder. He quickly followed after Frei, trying to get away from the crowd.
At first it looked like she wanted to go on the ferris wheel... but then it became apparent she was headed for the biggest roller coaster in the park, directly behind the ferris wheel.
Fin didn't seem too intimidated even though he had never been on a roller coaster before.
