Nic returned Laurel's kiss.
-- "Can I get some sugar then?" he asked. |
Laurel let it go on before suddenly trying to pull away.
-- "No," Wolfe stated, putting another piece in his mouth. |
Nic reluctantly let Laurel pull away.
-- Raven frowned. "Oh, come on," he pouted. |
Laurel managed a smile, "If... you let me kiss you any more... I won't let you leave," she explained before kissing his cheek.
-- Wolfe chuckled a little before throwing Raven a vanilla candy. |
Nic paused before slowly pulling away.
-- Raven caught it before eating it slowly. |
Laurel was a little hard to pull away from, she didn't want him to leave. But eventually she forced herself to take a step back, "How long?" she asked quietly.
-- Wolfe kept munching away, he seemed to like the candy. |
"I don't know," Nic repeated.
-- After he was done licking his fingers, Raven got up, walked over to Wolfe, and sat in his lap. |
Laurel swallowed a little, "I suppose... I can't exactly call you," she muttered.
-- Wolfe blinked before adjusting a little, "You're heavy," he informed him with a small smirk. |
Nic shook his head. "I'll be back soon," he promised.
-- Raven just took one of the candies out of the box and ate it with a smirk. |
"You better be," Laurel replied quietly, "Or I'm going after you."
-- Wolfe looked at Raven for a long moment, "What does... one do on a 'day off'?" he inquired. Apparently, he wasn't planning on going into work today. |
"Whatever happens, don't come after me," Nic told her seriously.
-- "... Whatever one wants," Raven explained. |
Laurel shook her head just as seriously, she wouldn't make that promise.
-- Wolfe paused for a moment and then kissed him. |
Nic looked very seriously at her back. "Don't come for me," he repeated.
Laurel shook her head again, "You'd come after me," she retorted quietly.
"... If you must come after me, bring the rest of the neonates with you," Nic replied knowing that they could probably talk some sense into her if she was being irrational.
"No," Laurel stated, something shifting in her demeanor.
Nic was starting to get a little angry. "This is no game," he replied. "If one man can't bring Kale back, then one more won't be enough to bring back two."
"I don't care," Laurel said, struggling to see her voice low.
"And what if I do?" Nic asked, voice getting angrier.
"Then come back quickly," Laurel suggested firmly, "Because if you don't, nothing in this world is going to stop me from going after you."
Nic kept seeming to get more angry, but after another few moments he took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "... One week," he told her firmly. "If Wolfe hears nothing from me in one week do whatever you please."
Laurel nodded seriously though her hands were starting to shake slightly.
Nic nodded briefly before turning and starting to walk into the shuttle.
"... I love you," Laurel whispered after him before turning to leave.
Nic paused a moment to look over his shoulder. "I love you too," he replied before closing the juttle doors.
Laurel managed to keep walking at the slow pace until she was inside, then she sprinted down the halls to Raven's room and yanked the door open.
So Nic took off, starting his search for Kale.
And Raven still hadn't returned to his room. |
So Laurel went straight to Fin's.
The door was open, and Fin was reading.
So Laurel went right over to Fin and pulled him into a tight hug.
Fin was rather startled. "Uh," he muttered.
"Just... let me hold you for a minute," Laurel whispered, real pain in her voice.
Fin didn't say anything, and he didn't move.
Finally Laurel pulled away but sat down right beside Fin, "Um... can I be your friend, Fin?" she asked quietly.
Fin blinked. "... Uh... sure," he replied quietly, still a little clueless.
Laurel nodded, "You're... close to Frei, right?"
Fin swallowed. "... We're friends," he replied.
Laurel nodded with a smile, "That's good," she encouraged him.
Fin paused before nodding.
"Can you do me a favor, Fin... as a friend?" she asked.
