James smiled, "I guess you'll have to do all the talking." And suddenly he grabbed Yue's arm, just like a younger sister hanging off her older sister and started tugging her towards the nearest statue.
"Ugg..." Yue muttered, not liking this one bit. Thankfully it fit the annoyed older sister persona quite nicely.
So James dragged Yue around for a bit before buying her hot chocolate and sitting down on a bench. She... he had a churro in his hand, biting it happily.
Yue still hadn't said anything besides the occasional snap when he had annoyed her. And so she sat quietly, not looking like she was going to drink the hot chocolate.
James paused for a moment before shoving the rest of the churro in his mouth and standing. He walked a little ways away before leaning down. Then, without warning the shot up and chucked a snowball at Yue's head.
Yue's reflexes were pretty good. She managed to hit the snowball with her hand which showered her with some snow ball residue. She cussed at James a little bit. "You're a piece of work, you know that?" she snapped at him.
James had already thrown another one at her.
Yue knocked that one away too, but some snow got sprayed in her face. She cursed at James again as she tried to wipe it off.
And another one.
This one hit her and she cussed louder at James.
James was struggling very hard not to laugh as he walked back over to her.
In her attempts not to punch James, her fist hit the table and the hot chocolate tipped over, and she cussed more as the hot chocolate got on her jacket. "What the terra is your problem?!" she demanded.
James continued to smile before pointing to his mouth to remind her he couldn't talk.
She cussed under her breath as she tried to clean off her jacket with some snow. When it looked like there was no hope for it, she just started to walk off back toward the hover craft.
James intercepted her and took out a wipe of some sort. He seemed like he had been anticipating something along these lines as he began to gently scrub the stain out of her jacket. It seemed to be working.
Yue didn't like it, even if it was working. "Stop touching me," she spat quietly at him.
James snorted ever so slightly, "It's almost out, stop complaining." he whispered back as he scrubbed out the remaining stain.
"You don't care what anyone says," Yue snapped a little louder.
James chuckled a little, not replying. Then suddenly there was a flash. James blinked and turned to his left. A man stood there with his camera still held to his face.
Yue turned her glare upon the man. "What's the deal, you pervert?" she snapped at him a little loudly.
Flash. James blinked again. The man's face was still hidden.
"What the terra is your problem, pervert?" Yue asked the man loudly as she started to walk over to him. She was doing a superb job of turning that anger she felt toward James into energy against this man. "I'm sick and tired of dirt like this."
The man slowly lowered his camera, his eyes confused, "It's a festival." he muttered defensively, "You and your sister looked cute together..." then he frowned, "What the big deal?! It wasn't like I was shooting a picture up your skirt!" he spat back.
"No," Yue shot back, still getting closer. "I refuse to let you make a spectacle of my sister!" She snarled. "I'm done with people picking her out because of the way she chooses to dress! It's the only way she knows how to express herself, and its boulders better than picking on a teenage girl. So delete those photos now."
The man's frown deepened, "If you didn't want pictures taken you shouldn't have come to the fair!" he argued back, "You don't have the right to tell me what pictures I can and cannot take!"
"Just cut the granite, delete the pictures, and we'll never see each other again," Yue snarled. "There are plenty of other cute sisters that would love to have their picture taken. Otherwise we can stand here all night, and you won't get one more shot of this happy festival."
The man glared at Yue before another flash went off right in her face.
"You have no idea the hell my sister has been through!" Yue nearly shouted, getting in the man's face. Her voice shook a little as her eyes started to tear up. "What she's had to go through! How hard we've worked to come to this festival! I won't let an ignorant man like you bring her back down to square one." She wiped a tear off her face and took a breath. "So I'll ask you one more time," she said a little more calmly. "Please delete those pictures and be. on. your. way."
The man finally looked affected, "Well... I..." But there was another flash, the man glanced over at another man who had just snapped a picture of his and Yue's emotional scene.
Yue didn't even glance at the second man, still staring the first one down.
The second one seemed to like this, snapping more pictures. The first man's attention was still on the second man. Slowly he looked back at Yue, confused.
"Please leave my sister alone." a charming young girl's voice called out. It was soft and sweet and both men were instantly drawn to it, but to Yue it would have been creepy, even frightening. There was no way in terra that voice could come from James's vocal cords. And yet James stepped up beside Yue, "Please... do what she says." the gentle voice quivered slightly. Both men seemed affected, their eyes not leaving James. |
Yue shivered a little, wiping her face and pulling on her hood to make it look like it was from the cold. She'd punch him for using that voice later. She turned to James briefly. "Stay out of this. You don't have to deal with them." she told him quietly before turning back to the men. Every now and then another tear would come that she'd quickly wipe away.
James assessed the situation for a moment longer before turning his head and resting his head on Yue's shoulder so that his face was hidden from the men.
"I saw her first!" the first man's voice suddenly rang out. But... it came from James's mouth. The second man turned on the first, "What the terra?! You think I'm going to let you win the contest just because you stumbled on them first?" The first man was terribly confused but retorted, "My picture has more emotion than yours!" which started a fight as the second man charged at the first. "I'll smash your camera!" James shouted in a perfect imitation of the first man's voice. Then he suddenly stood straight and started to walk off, expecting Yue to follow. The men were too busy fighting to notice. |
Yue took another few moments to glare at the men before stomping off, heading straight for the hover craft. She still looked pissed off. And surprisingly, the tears didn't stop.
James reached the hovercraft ahead of Yue. He stepped inside and instantly began to rip off his face pieces. His actions showed his anger though his face was fairly blank.
Yue didn't say anything as she got in and slammed the door shut. Her hood hid her face.
Suddenly James turned on her, face somewhat back to normal, "You always have to cause a big scene with that temper of yours!" he spat, "What the terra was that?! Yelling and crying? Of course that would attract more attention, you boulder!"
Yue didn't reply.
"Oh, so now you've run out of things to say." James retorted, "That's great. Very convenient." he nearly snarled. "Dirt, every time I try to do something fun with you it turns out like this! Why the terra do I keep doing it?!"
"... You're a boulder," Yue muttered, voice shaking a little.
