Well do what my dad does.. *hands ear plugs to Zypher* :D

Zypher 08-20-2010 11:36 PM

Ear plugs don't work.. I'm only going to say this once. Nothing, whatsoever, works. That includes drugs, home remedies and practical items. I have a very high immunity to drugs, home remedies are useless as are ear plugs. This also includes military grade sound blocking headphones.

After nearly twenty three years, I have tried everything. So please don't suggest things as it makes me cranky and more tired because I've heard it all and done it all.

Bina Fydan 08-20-2010 11:37 PM

Awh, at least I tried. I'm surprised... If you done it all, why not make yourself go deaf? o_o

Zypher 08-20-2010 11:39 PM

Why would anyone want to go deaf? That would mean I would also need to go blind and not be able to smell things because all three keep me up.

now, tell me, what exactly would that accomplish? oO

Bina Fydan 08-20-2010 11:44 PM

Well because I don't hear things when I go to bed at night, I am a light sleeper when it comes to things that touches me and moves around me. Other than that I'm out as a light. But, I grew up with partial hearing, I know it's not great going all the way tone deaf, I'm saying maybe be hard of hearing may help your condition regardless. *shrugs* I'm deaf without my hearing aid on. I don't know.. just a thought. It doesn't mean you're crippled, Zypher. You're still going to be able to do just about everything.

Zypher 08-20-2010 11:48 PM

I'm not talking about being crippled, I'm just saying that if I went deaf I'd also have to loose my ability to smell and my ability to see because those also keep me up. I can't just try to get rid of one method as my other senses would grow stronger over time which wouldn't solve anything.

I'd be left with two senses and quite honestly, I'd rather keep all my senses and complain about being kept up by them than loose them. I mean no disrespect but a suggestion like that is just foolish. Especially considering my plans for the future. I will require my ability to hear within the next year or two because regardless of how the site turns out, I'm going to be going on a cross country trip at some point within the next two years. First it's across Canada, then across the US. and When I'm done, then I might just go across the world.

I intend to do this by walking, however lately I've been considering cycling to be a viable option as well.

In short, I can not afford to loose any of my senses. And if I loose my ability to see and hear, I'm not going to be much good for the site in the meantime.

I am sorries, Zypher, wish I could help somehow. >: -hugs- Like, turn the noise for you down. =o= I hate when people are this disrespectful to other's sleep. Dx

Zypher 08-21-2010 12:22 AM

The solution is simple. People just need to pay attention to the sounds their bodies make. Unfortunately, they don't really pay much attention to themselves or their surroundings so they're always clomping up and down the stairs, knocking things over, or even breaking things on a daily basis.

I only break stuff when I get careless or distracted, it's not a daily occurrence for me. It's very, very rare. But of course, with that said, not everyone is self aware.. So I dunno.

Flaria 08-21-2010 12:40 AM

Then, you will love me since I am quiet when I walk on the hardwood floor the way I sit down and the way I talk and the way I laugh. I can be quiet. x3

Zypher 08-21-2010 12:56 AM

Lmao. I can hear quiet people too, but they don't annoy me as much as loud people do so i can ignore the quieter folk.

When i walk, i walk on the tips of my feet. Like right on my toes and the ball of my foot but never on my heel.

No wonder you're a master ninja, Zypher!

Sadrain 08-21-2010 08:15 AM

Wow. o3o;
I can be quiet, but I usually am not. <o<; I laugh really loud sometimes. ._.; And I probably walk loudly, though, but I can be a sneaky little critter, if I try. Walking stairs quietly is a little bit too much, though, since sometimes I end up breathless, with another asthma attack while climbing. =o=;
I could try next time I climb stairs, though. Hmm.

Gozed 08-21-2010 08:21 AM

I'm not quiet at all... I'm a 6'0 guy that weights 240... Even my light steps are loud and ground shaking.

Zypher 08-21-2010 05:57 PM

Bahh, I could probably feel you coming then gozed. Dx

I pay attention to vibrations through walls and the floor.

Syric 08-23-2010 08:52 AM

I walk very quietly, even when wearing heavy combat boots. Oddly enough, relearning how to walk so we could be all sneaky was part of my law enforcement training :p
And I'm just a quiet person in general. I'm talkative with my friends, but when I'm around people I don't know that well, I stay silent and listen to everything. Easier to learn what people are like that way

Zypher 08-23-2010 04:36 PM

Yea, I can walk silently in massive boots myself. Even in heels because of the way I walk normally. I also have an arch to my foot so I can't wear flat shoes without getting shin splints. So it didn't take me long to walk quietly.
