Yue didn't appear to take that as a complement. Long glanced between the two of them.
"No wonder you two are dating!" he exclaimed, happy with his epiphany.
"... You're dating?" Long asked Yue, sounding surprised.
Yue stared blankly back at Long. "You don't have to look so surprised," she complained. |
Rosen laughed, slapping Long's leg a little, "He's got... basically the same personality as her. It's great!"
"He's more impulsive," Yue claimed. Long looked like he was trying to picture someone more impulsive than Yue and was failing.
Rosen chuckled at Long, "Do you want to meet him?"
Long shrugged. Yue sighed.
Rosen smirked, "What do you say, Yue? I'm sure he's depressed you're spending your time with another guy..." he teased.
"... I think it would be best for James to get to know Long in his own timing," Yue replied, refraining from giving Rosen another bloody nose.
Rosen sniffed, "All the girls around here all violent crazies!" He informed Long, "That's why we're going to be besties," he nodded knowingly.
Long neither confirmed nor denied Rosen's claim. Yue sighed again. "Don't abuse him too much," she warned Rosen before starting to head out.
Rosen frowned, "I'm not abusing him, we're friends, right Long?"
Long didn't reply.
"Well we are," Rosen told Yue as she walked out.
Yue waved a little 'whatever' before closing the door.
"Let's play a video game!" Rosen decided, sitting up.
Long didn't look super thrilled, but he didn't complain.
So Rosen put in the same game and moved up to take a seat beside Long, handing him a controller. "Alright, let's see if you can stop dying by yourself this time!" he joked as he started up the game.
Long didn't seem too confident. He tried a different character this time, but he didn't seem to be doing much better.
Rosen finally seemed to get frustrated at the lack of competition and reached over. "Look, this is how you do it," and proceeded to give Long a long overdue crash course on the controls.
The crash course seemed to help a bit. He still seemed to lack the passion for the game though.
"This is a form of fun," Rosen tried to explain as he pushed Long's character off the cliff.
Long didn't quite look like he believed that yet. His skill continued to suck as they kept playing, but his tactics were solid.
Rosen sighed before pulling something on his tablet, "Here, it's the guide to the game," he explained as he played against the computer for awhile.
Long took the tablet from Rosen. Then Long started reading through the guide, one page at a time. It looked like he might actually read the entire thing.
Rosen let him do what he wanted to do, he of course hadn't glanced at it at all.
So Long sat and read the guide until he had studying every single page.
"You're very... precise," Rosen decided, as he beat the computer.
Long paused as he finished up and handed back the tablet to Rosen with a blank nod.
Rosen shrugged and handed back the remote.
Long was better, but still clearly outmatched by Rosen's hands-on experience.
"So what do you like to do, Long?" he asked as another round loaded.
"... I don't know," Long replied.
"Obviously video games don't seem that interesting to you," he noted.
Long shrugged.
"Do you like swimming?" he asked.
Long paused before shaking his head.
"Do you like running?" Rosen inquired.
Long paused before shaking his head again.
"Do you like guns?"
