Long batted Rosen's hand away after a moment out of instinct, smudging the smiley-face. Then he frowned as he touched it and looked at his fingers, wondering why Rosen would do that.
Rosen chuckled, writing something else. He held the board up with a goofy smile, cake still smudged around his mouth. I'll be your friend. You're very weird... but I like odd, awkward people.
Long blinked at the screen, still holding up his frosting covered fingers. He paused before slowly turning to Rosen. Rosen could see a little loneliness and homesickness in his eyes.
Out of pure instinct, Rosen leaned over and licked the frosting off Long's fingers.
Long blinked at Rosen, not sure how to react as he watched emotionlessly as Rosen licked the frosting off his fingers.
Rosen settled back in his seat before blinking. He seemed to be thinking something over. Then he wrote out, Is that something a friend would do? The look on his face showed that he genuinely didn't know. Apparently the line between friendship and flirting was fuzzy in his mind,
"Probably not," Long decided critically after a moment.
Rosen looked depressed.
Long didn't appear to understand Rosen's reaction.
Rosen frowned a bit before writing, Don't waste time being lonely, enjoy life and eat cake. And as if the emphasize his point, he took a bit bite of cake.
Long frowned at the last part, not seeing the connection. "... Why cake?" he asked.
Rosen blinked, "Cake tasthes good. I like eathing cake."
"... I can see," Long noted.
Rosen blinked before a big grin spread over his face, We'll find something you like. he wrote.
Long didn't appear too comforted by that.
There's more to life than body-guarding. Rosen wrote, "Twust me, I know."
Long looked confused, but that was predictable.
Rosen chuckled, If it makes you feel more at home, be my bodyguard. He wrote with a sideways, attractive grin.
Long started to look even more confused.
Rosen smirked as he ate more cake.
Long tried to understand what Rosen had said quietly as Rosen ate more cake.
Rosen looked at Long before writing something else, What do you do for fun?
Long shook his head. It looked like he didn't have any fun.
Rosen suddenly looked depressed, You poor, swad, lonely abwsed child!" he explained.
Long blinked blankly at Rosen. You can't miss what you never had.
There was a familiar glint in Rosen's eye. It looked like he had found his next pet project.
Long started to look worried again.
"Rewax," Rosen reassured him, "I don't bwite... much."
"... That's a relief," Long replied, face blank as he managed to put a little sarcasm into his words.
Rosen grinned, pleased with Long's success with sarcasm and apparently attributing this 'improvement' to himself. He held up a hand, "Hwi-Fwive!"
Long blinked at Rosen for a moment, not understanding what he said. It didn't look like he understood the gesture either.
Rosen blinked before taking a longer time and trying to annunciate his words, "H-i.... fiiive," he repeated, still holding up his hand.
Long still didn't get it.
Rosen blinked before writing, You've never high-fived before?
Long shook his head.
It's an exclamation of awesomeness. Like, good job! That was epic! Rosen wrote, shocked Long didn't know something so cool.
Long frowned a little as he did his best to understand the definition.
I liked your sarcasm, so we slap hands! High-Five! Rosen wrote before holding up his hand again.
Long read the tablet before staring at Rosen's hand for a moment. Then he raised his own and slapped the side of Rosen's hand.
Rosen slapped the palm of his hand so it made a loud slapping sound, "Like this!" he explain with another handsome grin.
