Nic seemed a little surprised and his ego seemed slightly bruised. But he still said nothing.
Rosen blinked, "Da terra?" he cussed, confused.
"It's not Nic's fault when you seduce him! And it's totally not fair to him! You're just a genetic... genetic robot if you force people to do that kinda stuff! Obviously they don't like it!" Laurel ranted, shoving Rosen a little, "Quit picking on Nic just because he's bi!" |
Nic was starting to get irritated, but he continued to let Laurel do what she was inclined to do.
"So back off!" Laurel shouted, shoving him towards the door.
"I ged it... I ged it," Rosen mumbled, still holding his nose with a frown as he escaped because Laurel could hit him more. Laurel closed the door with a huff before returning to the meal. She was still frowning as she glared at the food. |
Nic didn't say anything, not having trouble going back to eating.
Laurel seemed to have lost what little appetite she had, "I hate him," she declared quietly.
Nic remained silent.
Laurel shoved the food away from her, "This whole place makes me disgusted," she suddenly told him.
"Take a few minutes to cool off," Nic suggested, voice calm.
Laurel looked at Nic, eyes clearly still protective, "Why are you so calm?!"
"You're worked up enough for both of us," Nic replied easily.
Laurel glared at Nic, "Don't you care?" she asked, still too angry to think totally rationaly.
"Care about what?" Nic asked. "Revenge on Rosen or your appetite?"
Laurel paused and then she threw her roll at Nic's head, anger flaring up in her eyes, "It's not funny, Nic! These people are abusing you and you don't defend yourself at all! If you can't then we should just go." she stated, an odd coldness filling her voice.
Nic caught the roll and put it on the table. "You defended me plenty, why did I need to do anything?" he asked.
Laurel stared at him, "You wouldn't say anything even if I stayed quiet," she retorted.
"What should I have said?" Nic asked.
Laruel's eyes narrowed, "Rosen doesn't think what he did was wrong, Nic," she stated with deliberate slowness.
"And?" Nic asked.
Laurel shook her head a little, "You're letting them walk all over you."
That seemed to irritate Nic. "I can take care of myself," he snapped back.
"Yeah, you're doing a real good job with that," Laurel retorted sarcastically.
Nic's expression started to grow a little darker. He looked like he was about to say something, but instead he started to stand and walk out.
"You promised to talk to me instead of running away," Laurel spat at him.
"... I need to shot something," Nic retorted, voice very dark as he kept walking.
So Laurel remained silent as Nic left.
True to his word, Nic went to the shooting range.
Snow was there but she didn't acknowledge Nic.
Nic didn't acknowledge Snow either as he picked up a sniper riffle.
Snow paused to watch Nic.
Nic was actually very good. And as the time passed, he seemed to be getting better like he was rusty. There was no denying that he had extensive training in the past. And he also appeared to have some genuine raw talent when it came to targeting in a pinch. He could probably stand easily next to Kale.
Snow eventually got back to her own shooting. "Laurel's got quite a raw talent as well," she suddenly noted, "Never thought she would, looking at her."
Nic ignored Snow, focusing on the shooting.
Snow rolled her eyes a little, "Sorry, I guess I'm disturbing your masculinity building section," she retorted before finished off her round and walking off.
Nic continued to ignore Snow. He cut himself off after an hour and headed back to his room.
Surprisingly, Laurel was still there, seated at the small table with the plate of untouched food in front of her. She didn't notice his entrance and seemed very lost in her thoughts.
-- Frei went to the Juttle to see if Fin was still hanging out there. |
Nic took his seat again, intending to finish eating.
-- Not surprisingly, Fin was having difficulty moving out of the Juttle he had become familiar with. |
Still nothing from Laurel.
-- Frei walked in and the first thing noticeable to Fin was the shell necklace she had on. It looked like she'd made the colorful shell Fin had given her into a necklace. |
So Nic kept eating even though he clearly was not enjoying the cold food.
-- "H-Hey," Fin told Frei, blushing a little, and pretending he hadn't noticed the necklace. |
"... can we leave?" Laurel finally whispered, pain in her voice.
-- Frei tilted her head a little before shrugging, "Movie?" she inquired. |
