Long blinked, a little confused.
"You only take orders, you don't have..." Rosen paused, still typing, "flare. Individuality, a personality."
Long didn't say anything.
"Don't worry," Rosen stated with a grin, "We'll get you one."
Contrary to Rosen's advice, Long looked slightly worried.
Rosen then passed the tablet over to Long, "Here's your homework," he announced happily, "Answer the questions in between your sleep time. That's an order!" he added playfully.
On the tablet was a series of very random questions: Whasssssuuuupppppp? What thing do you absolutely hate doing? What is your favorite body part? What sound do you love? If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to? What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? What’s the worst gift you’ve ever received? Would you rather be 3 feet tall or 8 feet tall? Would you rather be able to stop time or fly? Would you rather have a missing finger or have an extra toe? Would you rather kiss a jellyfish or step on a crab? Would you rather only be able to whisper or only be able to shout? Would you rather play video games with me or Missy? Would you rather have pink hair or bright red hair? |
Long took the tablet and a frown slowly grew on his face as he read the questions. He was very confused.
Rosen chuckled, "Try the second one. What do you hate doing?" he asked, "I'll answer first, I hate cleaning and most active things."
Long thought about it a good while before deciding, "... The Ko Assassin diet."
Rosen crinkled his nose in disgust, "Diets suck!" he agreed, "But what's the Ko Assassin diet? Your family diet or something?"
"A special diet designed for the assassins designed by the Ko family," Long explained.
Rosen blinked, "What does it let you eat?" he asked, curious.
"It's complex," Long replied after awhile.
"What about it do you hate?" Rosen tried again, flipping on his side to stare at Long.
Long thought about it awhile longer before deciding, "The taste."
Rosen nodded, "... Is there a taste you prefer?"
Long frowned a little, like he hadn't had too much of a choice in the past. It looked like he'd need a lot more time to make a decision.
Rosen seemed to have an idea and he picked up the communicator, "Hey Zala, I need some sour patches, red vines, milk duds, gushers, nerds and..." he thought about it for a moment, "just normal milk, dark and white chocolate."
Long blinked, wondering what Rosen was doing and how much longer he could last until he was exhausted again.
Zala came in rather quickly, handing the candy off before leaving. Rosen opened the sour patch box first and took out one piecing, holding it out to Long, "Do you like sour?"
Long paused before replying, "Yes."
"Like sugary?" he asked, holding out a milk dud as he munched on the remaining sour patch.
Long was quiet for about the same amount of time before replying, "Yes."
"Okay, what about gushy," Rosen asked as he handed over a gusher, chowing down on the milk duds
Long didn't appear to agree that 'gushy' was a taste, but he seemed indecisive.
"Another one?" he offered.
Long shook his head.
Rosen shrugged and handed him the three different chocolates to try.
Long tried each of the chocolates. In the end, he appeared to favor the dark chocolate.
Rosen nodded, "You like a bit of bitter taste then," he mused.
Long didn't say anything as he finished off the dark chocolate.
Rosen handed him to nerds to see if he liked crunchy and red vines because of their weird texture.
Long didn't care for the crunchy nerds as much as the crispy milk duds. And he didn't seem to like all the chewing involved with the red vines.
Rosen chuckled before eating the remaining candy and stretching, "So," he summarized as he stood, "You like sour things, crunchy things, aren't sure about gushy things and really like dark chocolate. There, individuality is bloomin' already."
Long didn't seem to get Rosen's point, but he didn't ask about it as he started to reposition himself to get some more rest.
Laurel and Nic were just settling down to lunch when Rosen walked into Nic's room. Laurel turned to see who it was and then froze, staring at Rosen in shock.
Rosen grinned at the two of them, "Hope I'm not interrupting~" |
Nic mostly ignored Rosen like usual.
Laurel quickly got over her shock and then the temperature in the room seemed to drop as her icy glare sent a freeze-beam at Rosen. Rosen shrugged, "I need a cake," he explained.
Laurel's eyes narrowed, "Make it yourself." "I can't bake," Rosen whined, "I'll pay you or something." Laurel suddenly stood and walked over to him, "Pay me?" she asked sharply, "With what?" |
Nic didn't say anything, hoping Rosen would be done with his business quickly.
Rosen smirked, "Anything you want, sweetie," he could help but responding. Laurel lashed out, punching Rosen right in the nose so suddenly he didn't have a chance to react.
"Wad... da?" he demanded, holding his now bleeding nose. "Get out of here, you rotten log!" she demanded loudly, "And if I see you around Nic I'll punch you lower!" she threatened, thoroughly pissed off. |
