Laurel didn't let go.
After a moment or two, Nic started to undress.
Laurel slowly let her hand fall from his arm. She stared at him for a long moment, then turned to leave before he had undressed too much. I'd never hurt you on purpose, you boulder. She walked briskly towards the door.
Nic stopped when she started to leave. How was she ever supposed to understand anyway? Did he even want her to? It was because of who he was - who he had to be. Even in front of Laurel; especially in front of Laurel.
He took his undershirt off and tossed it on the ground before picking up the towel and walking in the bathroom to take his shower. |
Laurel slammed the door behind her and went to find Raven. When she found him talking to Aaron she left them alone and went to the garden by herself.
Aaron continued to wander around the mansion.
There were foot steps ahead of him and a man with pink hair rounded the corner. "I don't think we've met," Wolfe stated calmly.
Aaron nodded a little like he had expected him to pop in sometime. "You must be Wolfe," he assumed. "I'm Aaron."
Wolfe nodded back before holding out his hand, "You're an old friend of Raven's, correct?"
Aaron nodded, shaking Wolfe's hand. "We grew up together."
"You understand the risks of visiting him here?" Wolfe asked seriously.
"... I know enough," Aaron replied.
Wolfe nodded again, "It's good Raven has a supportive, if not foolish, friend. Do you have family you're close with?"
"... Just back at the farm," Aaron replied after a moment.
Wolfe seemed fairly relieved as he heard that. "How long do you plan to stay?" he asked not unkindly.
"Not sure," Aaron replied. "Maybe a few days."
