one day i absolutely have to visit japan. i get to travel a lot actually, especially with my summer job, but i've never had the opportunity to visit japan and i'd like to.
every other country i REEEALLY want to visit i've been able to visit. except egypt. I want to go to egypt.

... OMG, you just named two of my top three countries, and one of the ones on my main list. I've actually been to Italy, more specifically Rome, when I was about 3. I went with my parents/granpa and don't remember much but I really want to go back and see as much as I can :)

Also, you mean Lina ;P, you haven't met Rina yet but you will very soon. Also, I'm going to dinner now so my next post should be in 1+ hour, probably not more than 2 though.

i'd like to visit italy someday, though it's not prioritized before Japan. egypt is a MUST SEE for me, as well. i'm fascinated by egyptian mythology and culture.

I love Egyptian Mythology too, ever since I first studied it in middle school. I wish my college offered a class because then I would totally take it. I've also been to China, the Grand Canyon, and Hawaii, the first one being my favorite trip. I went there with my middle school and it was so much fun.

Hmmm... not sure exactly. I would think trying to kill someone or cause chaos would be good reasons, but other than that I'm not sure. Someone could definitely ambush another werecat and put them in the boat. As long as the boat has a passenger and is pushed off of the dock, it will automatically go to the closet landing area with a human civilization. I'm not exactly sure how sending out how help would go, considering even if a werecat made it off they might be on the other side of the world as werecats that had already left.

Considering there's no real domestic life/owners on the island, I'm not sure how a domesticated animal would work, lol, especially since there are no zoos on the island.

I think it could be meant... can it be an exotic animal that is often kept in zoos? Such as tigers and lions ARE. It doesn't mean they have to be kept on the island, but in general.

Also, they could attempt to seek out the island, especially if they were ambushed and that way went off the island. And then, having sneaked on the ship that crashes there, the werecat returns home... Agendas, mysteries, reasons, home-coming and meeting with long lost friends... and enemies. :3

Do they have feline features in human form, such as tails, ears, whiskers?

That idea sounds really cool, we could definitely work this that. And I didn't say no beasties such as tigers and lions, just that it is uncommon so there could be a few. As for cat features in human form, they have pointed ears, sharp teeth, and more catty eyes. ALSO, if they have a master, they have a pawprint mark somewhere on their body. It'll stay there, even if their master dies, until the werecat loses a life and gets a new body.

It was fun, though you could definitely see the government's power there. It was a little sad at times and the poverty was obvious, but the temples and statues and sites in general were amazing. I bought a silk pillow there which I still have. It's not a very good pillow, a little too stiff for my taste, but very nice. I went to Hong Kong, Shang Hai, Xian, and Beijing (where I had Peking duck, yummy). It was overall a great trip.

Grand Canyon not so much, I ended up being the only girl on the trip and I was trying to break up with my boyfriend at the time. There were some good parts, but mostly it was a poorly planned trip with some beautiful sights (soooooo many waterfalls.)

What is with the master thing? How is one claimed as 'pet', what changes then, besides the marking, and what werecat is supposed to do for his/hers master?

The same things happened to me on a trip to greece, minus the boyfriend bit. it was very poorly planned though the sites were amazing.
i'd love to go kayaking in the grand canyon, come to think of it. and a lot of other places, for that matter.

I get overheated a little too easily, so I prefer colder, but my sense of adventure wants to go to places that are warm, not cold. It really is a dilemma -sigh-.

No, the trap in the spell allowed the wizards to come and make slaves out of the werecats. You don't die and become a werecat, they're born from the souls of stillborns.

If all werecats keep getting reborn after they become one, how do the island not overpopulate?
And what exactly changes for werecat when he becomes a pet? Is he just chosen, as in "I pick you"? What he must do for the master?

Each werecat only has 9 lives, after that they're gone. Also, after a certain point for each life the laws of universe conspire to end a life because having things be too easy is just no fun, lol. There is a maximum limit on the island, and if you go with the whole 'fate' idea then one werecat dies forever just when another soul that is compatible can come by.

A werecat has to be taken in and named by a human, wizard or no, to become enslaved. It is very simple, but it had to be otherwise Tom might've realized what was going on if they tried for something too complicated. An enslaved werecat must do whatever his/her master wishes, including change their human form, however painful that might be to the werecat. Some werecats in their travels away from the island have had masters, with mixed results. Some are good, some are bad, and others are just... interesting. The only way for a Master/Slave bond to break is for one of them to die/lose a life.

Yeah, really simple so that anyone could do it, but not anyone can get to the island so it made it less easy. And yes, a master could have more than one pet, as long as he took them in and named them.

When I was doing this story as a novel originally, it was a romance idea so it was one of those OMG situations where he didn't even know what he was doing until he had a catgirl in his bed. Also, if a werecat has a master they don't need a medallion to shift when they leave the island.

Oh god, me and getting lost go sooooo badly together. I'm always really careful to know where I'm going and how to get there, and definitely have somebody with me if I'm going someplace new. I have a slight bit of agoraphobia, so I get overwhelmed easily if I'm in a new place and have no idea where to go. I've got to agree with you on Humidity though... I also forgot to put that I've been to Hawaii/Oahu, because my grandma retired on the there.

i'd like to visit hawaii, some day. just a time where there's not a load of other people there. which is basically never.
also, sorry for the late responses, I just got unbusy again. i'll try to make them more prompt.

Alright so I think I have one character. I will wait to see the others before introducing another one since I don't quite know what I am doing with the werecats yet.

It's fine, everyone gets busy. I understand that. Depending on which island you go to/areas it can actually be very uncrowded. There's a lot of pretty landscapes if you drive far enough out into the islands, where the tourists dread to go, lol. My parents and I went to this little restaurant which served authentic Hawaiian food, not the toursit stuff, and it was small and veyr quiet (though in the middle of tourist zone) and the food was fantastic! There's something for the tourists and non there.

le sigh, I tried looking for hairstyles so I could do one of my characters and none of them were quite right.

don't worry about the wait i understand enjoying your spring break. that kind of stuff is actually incredibly important.
on a side note i love how lina is just not asking clancy his opinion about anything just 'ok we're going now' XD

Everything's pretty good, I'm having a good amount of fun and it's giving me a break between studying. Only thing I'd say is if you ask a question, let my character answer it before making a statement because it seems that's more how actual talking goes ^^;
