french is EAAASSSYY =B another subject i took for O' Levels. It's probably my favourite language.

I just can't count in french for numbers greater than 30 >>

And that sketch looks hawt

Sadrain 08-11-2010 04:53 PM

I want to learn French when I have free time. ><; -bought self-teaching book for that- >o>

Flaria 08-11-2010 05:14 PM

That's one sexy Elf character and reminds me a lot of my boyfriend's character but more muscular built with that long ass hair more taller and have large wings and cat like tail. Of course, his character is most handsome looking and every girl in the galaxy falls for him on the first sight. When he told me that I found it hard to believe it. Lmao.

Rem 08-11-2010 05:18 PM

Rain - You do that too?! xD Oh well then! I shalln't complain *grins*
but it just seems so ...arbitrary, like, there's no rules, you just gotta memorize it.

......although yesm there's plenty of things in English that have no rules and you just gotta memorize but but but .....okay I have no defense, lol.

Anywayyy
DUCHESS TEACH MEEE ;3;
I'm trying to learn on my own but I think I'm gonna have to audit a class instead...

edit: Thank you Flaria!
Oh yes, the OC had hair down to his feet, actually trailing on the ground a little. I almot wanted to do a full body just so I could draw that but they only paid for a waist-up. And I was lazy |D
XDD He sounds like an interesting character!

Duchess 08-11-2010 05:31 PM

LOOL. I've studied it for like 5 years XDDD So I can't remember exactly how we started the basics or anything @.@

I do remember making up the silly conversation rhyme thing, to help me study

-Bonjour
-Ca va?
-Ca va bien, merci. Et toi?
-Comme ci....comme ca..
J'ai mal a la tete. - Mais pourquoi?
-Parce que....ma soeur...

And I can't remember the rest. Something about "frappe" on the head. XDDDD

@.@ but it RHYMES..and I made it up when i was like what... 12? So stupid XDD

[EDIT] AHHH~ I think it had to do with "elle m'a frappe..." now i cant remember anymore" @.@

Oh wow, five years? You must speak it kinda fluently, then, hunh? x) that's neat

That rhymes? o3o I'm probably mispronouncing everything (my pronounciations also suck lol, unless I actually stop and think about it very hard I say bon-J-oor all the time, with the jay sound xD

Hmmm...let me see if I can translate that from what very little I've picked up over the last year..

-Bonjour - hello
-Ca va? - Is that... 'how are you?'?
-Ca va bien, merci. Et toi? - let's see..tres bien is very good so I'm going to assume that means 'I'm good, thank you.' and I know toi is you so.. "I'm good, thank you. And you?"
-Comme ci....comme ca.. - I have no idea xD
J'ai mal a la tete. - Mais pourquoi? - Mmmm J'ai and Mais are familiar but I don't know what they mean. Pourquoi is a word/phrase I've heard before. Does it mean Please?
-Parce que....ma soeur... - No idea xD Although soeur looks like coeur which I know is heart but ..that probably means nothing. xD

Sadrain 08-11-2010 05:57 PM

I fail with the past/present perfect tenses and stuff. I don't have a teacher that would explain it well to me. Once, I thought I grasped it (when teacher explained it to me), but next time, she said that what I had written down was wrong. D8 So, I am confused about it still. -siigh-

Ooh, I understood the first three lines. 8D -shot-

I can't pronounce a single thing right, tho'.

Flaria 08-11-2010 05:58 PM

@Rem:
He is very interesting character and it have never ending wars with positive and the negative on the other side of the existence plane and it is a very long story and pretty complicated to follow. I can see why nobody wants to be with him physically because of the constant drama.

Duchess 08-11-2010 06:09 PM

LAWL. I forgot my tenses as well. I only know how to do it when it involves two verbs. Like "I am going to cry" or "I have cried".... I can't remember how to say "I will cry"...or "I cried". But it's good enough XDD

Comme ci comme ca. Means the same as bof.. It's kinda like slang? Which mean "so-so". As not good and not bad. literally translated in english its "like this, like that"

"J'ai mal a la tete" means.. "my head hurts" =]
Literally in english "I have bad in the head" XDDD

then the other person says "but why" and they respond "because....my sister... she hit me " OwO And I cant remember the rest =D

And yes it rhymes!! XD

toi rhymes with pourquoi. Ca rhymes with Va and soeur rhymes with que =]

Helps with pronunciation too.

And i remember this cute Rhyme.

"Dans la rue
Elle l'a vue
Il l'a vu
Et l'amour
doux et fou
est en vous"

=]

Flaria 08-11-2010 06:14 PM

What about Romanian? Speaking the language in Greek is fun to hear. Like the word for male's private part is hilarious. xD

Duchess 08-11-2010 06:17 PM

OOooo I've never heard Romanian before OwO

Sadrain 08-11-2010 06:18 PM

Oooh, I see now. o: That's interesting. Thank you! ^^

And isn't "rue" street in French? O:

I have to go now, though. Dx Byes byes all!

Duchess 08-11-2010 06:19 PM

YES! =] It is.. And byebye~

Cat Paws 08-11-2010 11:44 PM

*is lost* D= I don't know any forigne languages.. except the tiny bit of Japanese from my failed self studies ><

Cazzidy 08-12-2010 05:42 AM

HEY HEY HEY LOOKIT I WANT ART
Name: Cazzidy
Which offered art are you ordering? Baby Chibi
Reference: I'll PM it to you if you don't mind, it's my OC... I'll explain it further in my PM...
Pose / Expression: Smirking
Anything else: None

Rem 08-12-2010 05:48 AM

Flaria - What's the word? >w> Share share

Duchess - OHhh!! Right right, that's what pourquoi means! Now I remember
xD And I was so pronouncing toi 'toy' in my head instead of 'twah'
Well hopefully ppl in France will find my mispronunciations/accent cute instead of annoying. :'D
Aw I might have to hire you as a tutor when I actually buckle down and make the real attempt to learn xD

Cat - I know how to say ima nanjia desu ka. And that's it.
At least when I go to Japan I may not know where I am or what anything is but I will always be on time. 8D

Does anyone have any good kind of mellow music they'd like to share? I'm thinking something like ... Morcheeba or The Cranberries. I need to find some new tunes.

Caz - Okay! I'll be looking for your PM. :3
I can't guarantee a facial expression xD Those things are tiny. But I'll give it a shot

Demonskid 08-12-2010 05:52 AM

I know of something I consider mellow :3 The ending theme song (english version) for the PS1 video game "Evil Zone" the song is called "Sorrow Long Day" its soothing :3

Sadrain 08-12-2010 06:02 AM

Uhhmmm. I have recently picked up "Blackmore's Night". They are a bit of folk-music, but if you don't mind that, I think it's a music that is quite relaxing. It lacks aggressiveness. I love listening to it.
... Ugh, I need them right now. -crawls towards her music player-

Cazzidy 08-12-2010 08:16 AM

-=What you're allergic to cats?...=-

PM sent... I'll be waiting for your reply... ^^

-=It's alright, I'm allergic to you...=-

Sadrain 08-12-2010 01:25 PM

-chews on the thread out of random-

Duchess 08-12-2010 02:11 PM

I dunno anything mello.. That's my bf's taste. I prefer the bump and grind dance-a-ton songs XDDDD

and LOL. Toi?? Like koi?? I guess I can see why you'd think it sounds like that XD. French pronunciation isnt exactly what it looks like. But once you get the basics of it, you can read anything out loud with only few mistakes.

As far as I can remember from my visit, most french people know english =] They just like to mess with the anglophones... because its damn funny to watch them try

Sadrain 08-12-2010 02:14 PM

Anglophobes? XD

Duchess 08-12-2010 02:15 PM

LOL. not phobe...PHONES. As in the english-speakers =B
french speakers are francophones

Sadrain 08-12-2010 02:17 PM

Oh, I see. XD I was thinking, "wut, someone afraid of English? XD".

Rem 08-13-2010 02:20 AM

Duch (can I call you Duch?) - Oh like..what, techno? Or hip hop/club music?
I actually like punk, hard and alt rock, prog rock/speed metal (woot Romanian bands singing about Hobbits and unicorns) and goth metal. ...and the occasional mellow stuff like Fiona Apple, fufufu.
BUT ANYWAY.

Yea! I really can't pronounce a lot of words right if I read it - like read it out loud - if it's not said how it's spelled. I tend to say things phonetically without realizing it. xD Cupboard becomes 'cup-board' instead of cubbord, etc.
it was always a joy reading out loud in school xP

Demonskid 08-13-2010 02:27 AM

When I read out loud in school I hated it >< I'd feel like I was chocking on something and end up stuttering a bit ><

Cazzidy 08-13-2010 05:44 AM

-=What you're allergic to cats?...=-

did you receive my PM? ^^

-=It's alright, I'm allergic to you...=-

Duchess 08-13-2010 08:02 AM

I like.. anything i can dance to XDDD that's how it goes. I cant get more specific. If you saw my playlist.. I bet you'd understand

Sadrain 08-13-2010 09:44 AM

I don't have certain favorite genres. If it appeals to my ears, has good lyrics, it can be of any genre, pretty much.

Demonskid 08-13-2010 01:30 PM

I'm sorta the same as sadrain :3 though I do tend to avoid certain Genres =/

Sadrain 08-13-2010 01:42 PM

Well, me, too, but still I listen to wide range. C:

Demonskid 08-13-2010 02:03 PM

yup same :3

what Genres do you tend to avoid? xD

Duchess 08-13-2010 03:05 PM

I tend to avoid noise... ad repetition with sucky beats XDD like majority of the pop songs these days? like wtf?

Once again...genre means nothing. I can dance and sing along to gospel dammit >O

Sadrain 08-13-2010 03:54 PM

Most pop songs and most rap, most country (I like some of the older country songs from Latvia's bands, though). Gothic, metal-ish, some rock-ish music for me mostly, plus some folk, like folk-rock, lol. x3 But, still, pretty much anything can catch my attention.

Cat Paws 08-13-2010 06:34 PM

I tend to avoid the newer country stuff, and Gospel, or any religious stuff and the screamo heavy metal stuff..
other then that I think I can listen to it

Bina Fydan 08-14-2010 02:36 AM

I listen to variety of music, most of the time I stay away from Rap because I can't understand what they say half the time... and I like smooth singing rather than voices talking in a singing songy tone with music. Lol But lately, I'm a sucker for love songs.. with good lyrics and meanings to them..

Rem 08-14-2010 11:42 AM

Busy busy busy weekend after all! x______________x
But I shall be here sunday

Sadrain 08-14-2010 11:58 AM

@Rem---I replied to your PM btw... ^^

-=It's alright, I'm allergic to you...=-

Rem 08-15-2010 12:58 PM

Cazz - I will reply shortly, promise!
