Hm....only Green Day song I really like is Boulevard, but that's a bit...trite, huh XD
Yes, quite, but it's OK. Even though it is thoroughly "them" it is different enough from most of their other stuff to attract people who might not really be interested in everything.
i used to have them on my mp3 but it got ran over by a semi. :/
That.... sucks. Dx.
I have all of their albums on CD, but I also have full or near-full catalogs of a few other bands and a smattering of other artists, so... it isn't only because I am obsessed. I just buy music. Whether it is morality or materialism I can't say... but... it's what I like. |
wow cool
Indeed. And in the event that my iPod is suddenly no more... I have backups. 8).
ARGHHH.
25 more days D<. Until ˇUno! ARGHHH. |
by far one of the ebst bands ever, if not the best one. sandra

ˇUno! is awesome, guys. Just straight up Green Day, with something... a little different. It's dirty and sexy, it's sweet, it's angry... it's a little of everything.
Oh Green Day. I used to really like listening to them when I was a teenager.

Some of this new stuff sounds totally old in the best ways. <3. I don't mean "old Green Day" I mean "old rock'n'roll". |
I'm actually pretty unfamiliar with the new stuff.
Well, I don't think the promotion may have been as successful as it could be. The new albums ˇUno!, ˇDos!, and ˇTré! started (with ˇUno!) being released in September. ˇDos! will be out in November; ˇTré! in January. Singles so far are "Oh Love", "Kill The DJ", "Let Yourself Go", with "Stray Heart" looking like the first from the second album, and videos for "Carpe Diem", "Nuclear Family", "Troublemaker", and "Stay The Night" up on Youtube (in addition to "Kill The DJ" and "Oh Love" which have videos released for Mtv)
Was it Green Day that did the song with Marie Mai?
I have no idea who that is. They've never collaborated on their own albums, except on one of the new ones they have found a local artist from their area of California and teamed up with her with (presumably) very interesting results.
She's a french singer. I remember seeing a band make a song with her over here. It might have been Simple Plan or Good Charlotte or something.
I see. If she's french, it may have been Simple Plan. They're French Canadian. But Green Day are a good deal older than either them or Good Charlotte.
I know they are. x3 I grew up with greenday, since I grew up in the 90s. Well, they're a few years older than me, but still. They debuted in 87 right?
Something like that XD. I just get a little weirded out when people confuse them with Good Charlotte or Simple Plan xD.
It's not that I confuse them with those bands, I can tell the difference, but they're all similar genre.
I see xP.
Green Day's new stuff seems to definitely be straying from that, though. I mean, it's distinctly them, but someone from fifteen years ago would hear this music and have no idea it could ever be the same band. |
I should go look it up at some point. x3 Right now I'm mostly digging instrumentals. Like stuff by Yiruma, Detektivbyran, and some of Emilie Autumn and Apocalyptica.
That's cool. I can guarantee it is nothing like Apocalyptica because they're the only ones I've heard anything from, but. The newest song that has been leaked off of the second album has a very strong Motown vibe (which I dig, being from just outside the Motor City)
Oh sweet! Of the list, I highly recommend detektivbyran, they're unique.
Which green day song of their newer stuff do you suggest? |
Well, I've only fully heard the first album in completion; trying not to hear too many off the second before it comes out, but I mentioned "Stray Heart" which is from that album. From the first, I enjoy... well all of them, but "Troublemaker", "Kill The DJ", "Fell For You", or "Sweet 16" are interesting. The first has a really 1960s garage-y sexual sort of vibe; the second is really danceable, almost something you could hear in a club (it's not house music or anything by any means, but it is very danceable), "Fell For You" is a pretty straightforward poppy love song, and "Sweet 16" was written for his wife on their 16th anniversary, so again, very sweet love song.
Sounds interesting. I'll try it out.
I've loved ˇDos! since the instant I heard it. It is dark, sexy, dirty, funny, and fun... Strays pretty far from Green Day's... "canon" if you will, but it's very good and I really can't stop listening to it.
I would also like to add - I used to have a great Green Day shirt that had a kid holding a brain in the front and in the back it said 'Eat Your Parents.'
Quote:
I got mine from this year's Idiot Nation and it is a skull with its brain showing, the brain spells out "Green Day". |
They must like brains...!
Evidently!
This one was fan designed. |
Either way - they chose it for a shirt right?!
Admittedly, I like my men with lots of brains. ;) |
Speaking of brains...
Except nothing to do with them. Did you see Billie Joe's instagram post of Shirley Temple? xD. |
I did not. I guess he wasn't eating her brains.
Well he posted a picture of her with a video link in the caption.
The video was a farting figure skater. |
