xD I layer special items AND commons niftily, as I treat them as commons, when they are clothing items.

I like to layer all my commons and my special/donation items, but depending on my avi's color scheme, I don't use many donation items. it's hard to make an avi with a random neon-y color scheme like orange-red/lilac/jade with donation items. we just don't have enough variety of color in our special items. ;O; **stabs red/black forever**

I don't like/use neon colors... xD So, that's no problem for me. xDD

it's awesome that we have red/black items; it's not a bad color scheme. but we have at least 1 DI that's red/black every month except september. and for Lucid, who likes to use every color, this is a problem.

Maybe the team should try and think of new colors for donation items at some time.
Just a thought. It's kinda like gaia - there's not enough orange. >:C / stabs it.

I'm training to be good at pixeling. I'm alright enough - I made that fanceh gorgeous hairbow you use so much. :3 but not to the level of making DIs or... anything generally large-sized.

the lightest shade of orange-red is super gorgeous. we actually have a decent number of Sky DIs and event items, but more is always good because it's pretty.

you can say, uh....something to the effect of, we have such an extensive and beautiful color palette, it's a shame that more of the colors aren't used for DIs. and list off ones you like that you don't see often. (basic blue is another pretty one that I rarely see in DIs!)

I had only commons on this avatar till I needed over 20 layers and added white. So, this contest may have just gotten easier. xD

Serra, commons are the items that are found in the shops for gold and never go away. so any item you can buy from Eclectic Trends, Lavish Luxuries, Threads, or Trinkets & Tresses is fair game. :3
another way to tell is when you're editing your avatar, all the commons get sorted into their proper category tabs while special/donation/event items go in those tabs only. don't touch those three tabs and you're also safe.
