Gozed 05-10-2011 08:29 AM

Go us, the awesome anti-peanut butter league!

Reyoki 05-10-2011 12:20 PM

I love the whole chocolate and bacon thing. The best way to do that is to get one of those mini slow cooker things and fill it was almond bark. It's that stuff you use for chocolate-covered strawberries and making chocolate lollipops. If you use that stuff, it ends up all nice and creamy. The best kind of bacon to use is either the thick-cut kind or a nice maple smoked variety. If you bake the bacon in the oven at about 400 degrees Fahrenheit between two baking sheets covered in parchment paper for about ten minutes, it gets nice and flat and crispy, which is perfect for dipping!

Another strange thing to try... slim jims and fruit by the foot.

Kitty Desu 05-10-2011 04:02 PM

The smell of peanut butter makes me sick. ; n ;

My favorite strange combination is crushed chips and ketchup. I also like M&Ms on my cheese pizza... Chocolate and cheese is such a delicious combination!

Ashurato 05-10-2011 04:03 PM

Dammit guys! Now I'm hungry.

Fey 05-10-2011 04:18 PM

and while it's apparently not as odd as I thought I just recalled Wendy's fries dipped in their chocolate frosties, nomnomnomnom But I was informed by friends that EVERYONE does this. phoo

Reyoki 05-10-2011 04:20 PM

Fritos are good with that magic shell ice cream topping stuff.

johnny 05-10-2011 07:58 PM

I am not a big fan of the salty/sweet combination.

Unless it's margaritas. P:

But like, I don't even let my bacon get syrup on it when I have pancakes and bacon. And I hear that's a really popular combo or something.

Espy 05-10-2011 08:16 PM

I tried a sip of Pinot Noir yesterday... I don't much like alcohol, I think. Wines don't taste good to me. So I doubt I'll be having trouble when I go to college XD Not that it would be easy for me to buy anything....I'm short as heck. But however much I dislike alcohol....margaritas have always sounds insanely good for some reason XD

Syrup on bacon irks me a bit, especially if the bacon is incredibly yummy. For the most part, it's fine.

johnny 05-10-2011 09:05 PM

Yes.

WHY WASTE DELICIOUS BACON?

:C

I think my least favorite is chocolate covered pretzels.

Bleeeeehg. Uhg. I'm not sure if it's really the salty/sweet combo or just the texture or what, but I cannot stand them. They're what made me really decide that anything with chocolate on it shouldn't also be salted. D:

As for alcohol... I don't like a lot. I can tolerate some beer, and white wine, and I like champagne and anything fruity. I tried Tequila once and it was okay, if a bit shocking.

Slightly off the topic at hand, but whatever. xD

Ashurato 05-10-2011 09:38 PM

I'm not a big fan of chocolate covered pretzels myself.

Espy 05-10-2011 09:59 PM

I highly doubt I'm ever gonna have a drinking problem....but who knows. I hated coffee four years ago...

Choco pretzels are okay by me, if they're actually decent choco pretzels and not...crappy.

Azrael 05-10-2011 10:09 PM

almonds and whipped cream? I used to eat just that on a plate. XD Um, cinnamon on eggs and bacon... and not extremely wierd but french fries and chocolate shake.

BloodStain 05-11-2011 01:23 AM

that kinda sounds weird but like they say don't knock it tell you try it and im not sure if i had anything weird o-o

Quiet Man Cometh 05-11-2011 02:28 AM

LOVES chocolate covered pretzels. :D. There's a good chocolate shop here that sells them but they're expensive, like $5 for a teeny bag. So tastey though!

I had a box of meatballs left over after my Swedish class' Christmas party so that was my college food for some time. I usually cooked it with some manner of veggie so I make them with carrots and thought I'd throw some cinnamon on them to see how they tasted. The cinnamon went horribly with the carrots, but really well with the meatballs. :)

I'm not a wine fan either, unless it's Reisling. The exception is mulled wine, also from the Swedish christmas party. Teach made it. :)

When my sister came back from Aus she ate avacados on a bunch of things, and we got to making guacamole at obscene hours of the night. I love guac. I can just shovel it by itself, don't need the chips :p.

OMG! ashu-chan?! You don't like that? D: But it's so good! T_T

Kenly 05-11-2011 06:01 PM

i like using cottage cheese as a chip dip. i also like beef ravioli with cottage cheese.

there's a place near here called Tuscany's... they make pepperoni infused cheese. it's simply divine. expensive, but divine.

Quiet Man Cometh 05-12-2011 04:41 AM

Quacamole chips! *mow*

What would be better now is if I had some quac to dip them in :D. Or maybe just some sour cream. Num.

Ashy 05-12-2011 07:39 AM

i really like just plain corn chips with sour cream

Desmond 05-12-2011 07:12 PM

Chocolate and Cheese. I don't know why, but, it's yummy. ^^

Sarah 05-18-2011 03:02 PM

Have you ever come across a strange combo of food that just tastes so good? If so, what was it, and how did you come to it?

I love peanut butter and carrots, it's so good most people call me weird for that but I don't care because it's healthy for me

Quiet Man Cometh 05-19-2011 05:21 AM

Avacados are evil and mean! I hacked my thumb open pitting one. The nerves are still not repaired. I eat them out of spite! Rawr! I cant really eat them straight though. Need lime or something tangy with them. Went to a restaurant today and had quacamole on a burger. Very tasty. :)

Eating mini-wheats out of the bag right now. Mmmmm. mini-wheats.

Kaguya 05-19-2011 08:33 AM

Are you kidding? Peanut covered carrots. wow.

Lucifer 05-19-2011 10:34 AM

Not my combination.. but a store in my hometown of Portland, Oregon called the Voo Doo Donut Shop has maple donuts... with a strip of bacon on top! I hear it's pretty damn tasty, actually.

Passion Pit 05-19-2011 12:15 PM

.......That sounds..... so strange.

I guess...my combinations would be...
Saltines with butter...and... scrambled eggs with seasoned salt?

I've seen this place on Man vs. Food and I want to freaking go there!!
The donuts look sooo amazingly yummy!!

SinX_franz 10-12-2011 05:38 AM

sounds nice. but i aint a veggie guy. for me the best combo is mangos and chocolates. tangy chocolatey sweet and sour. the best.

Apagracia 10-12-2011 12:34 PM

i have the BEST thing
you get a bag of salted cashews, and some marshmallows
then you toast the marshmallows over your candle/fire/whatever
and when the marshmallow is all nice and gooey
you shove a cashew or two in there and chow down

I love that snack, and it' good for you because Carrots raise your blood sugar and then the peanut butter has the protein to extend that sugar.

Everyone in my school thinks it's weird, but it's REALLY good :3

Daring Scylla 10-17-2011 01:34 PM

Hey. HEY. you know what goes well with carrots....?
....Milk.
I bet you didn't know that. I bet you did not.
You know what also tastes good with milk?
Almonds.
You know what is frigging delicious with almonds?
Dried cranberries. Oh yes.
You know what goes great with dried cranberries?
COLLEGE WORK. I eat them in class all the time.

Now I will have to try peanut butter on carrots.

Another healthy and delicious snack is bell peppers dipped in hummus.

Rinni 10-21-2011 10:14 AM

Double chocolate chip cookies and nacho cheese. Mmmm, nummy. >u<

Angel Spirit Girl 10-23-2011 07:41 PM

Popcorn. That is the ultimate snack - bar none. ^u^

Ethereal 10-23-2011 07:49 PM

Bacon and chocolate is a fantastic combination, pair it with ice cream and that is tasty as well. One thing I don't eat very often but when I tried it it was delicious. Chocolate pudding and ketchup chips. The chocolate cancels the flavour of ketchup, and the salty of the chips with the sweet of the pudding is delicious, not to mention the crunchy to squishy ratio. To be honest I discovered this at a friends place last year while we were stoned. Think that was in British Columbia, big stoner affiliation out there. Don't smoke often mind you, but it led me to discover that tasty treat.

Also chocolate chip pumpkin cake is absolutely to die for. <3

Bonnie 11-03-2011 07:25 AM

It's a really weird one, but i swear it's good. I found this in middle school a long time ago when they didn't have sour cream and it was a chili day. I added a little bit of yogurt to it, but it was blueberry yogurt. I couldn't even tell the difference much and it actually made it taste better.

My boyfriend's sister eats a can of cold mixed vegetables in a bowl with ketchup on it. She loves it but I don't think I'm trying that one... and I'll eat anything...

Rem 11-04-2011 04:59 PM

When I was a lil'un my absolute favorite thing was a baloney sandwich with potato chips on top
Just spread out on top of the meat like you would lettuce xD
I ate them like that ALL the time lol

I think it was the salt and crunch with the soft bread and meat I liked the most

Anything to make the baloney taste better ;P

Lillita 11-04-2011 06:17 PM

I don't know about anyone else, but I really love Chetos dipped in ketchup.

DarkForbidden-Love 11-04-2011 10:17 PM

Popcorned cockroaches all the way~

Seloria 11-15-2011 12:45 AM

Hmm well I didn't think they were weird combos until my husband made faces at me lol.
I love Peanut Butter and Nutella sandwiches... they are like a Reese cup in a sandwich.
I make a sandwich with mayo and sliced cheese, cut it into pieces and dunk the pieces in ketchup.
Oreos and peanut butter are delicious.
Pineapple chunks in chocolate fondue.
Pizza made with sweet chili thai sauce as the base instead of tomato pizza sauce....
I can't think of any others right now, but I may have more as I think of them lol.
