tsukiko 10-25-2018 08:15 AM

trystan830 10-25-2018 11:51 AM

“Kidneys! I’ve got new kidneys! I don’t like the colour."

heh

tsukiko 10-25-2018 01:30 PM

o.O kidneys? from where!

trystan830 10-25-2018 01:48 PM

from Doctor Who. that's the first thing the 12th Doctor says right after he regenerates. =)

Witchchylde 10-25-2018 02:24 PM

Still not ginger. STILL. But I bet she can go ginger any time she feels like it.

trystan830 10-25-2018 02:31 PM

heh, this is true.

but i like her. =)

Witchchylde 10-25-2018 02:48 PM

I like her a LOT.

tsukiko 10-25-2018 02:49 PM

ahh. haven't seen any of doctor who. sorry

Death by Mirrors 10-25-2018 03:53 PM

I have only seen the (I think) 9th and 10th so far. Tennant was ten, right?
But actually curious about the new one.

Gallagher 10-25-2018 04:40 PM

9 is best doctor

Death by Mirrors 10-25-2018 04:43 PM

Me, I'm not going to decide on a personal favorite until I've seen at least half of them.

tsukiko 10-25-2018 04:54 PM

heard all the newer ones are good. and the older ones (pre-2000s) are cheesy

Serra Britt 10-25-2018 05:06 PM

Doctor #4 has a fond place in my heart...but it's because I like the actor a lot, really.

tsukiko 10-25-2018 06:30 PM

when was that one from?

Death by Mirrors 10-25-2018 07:09 PM

Four is the scarf guy? Seventies/Eighties then.

Mekatra 10-25-2018 07:15 PM

I get a lot of flack from my friends for not watching Doctor Who, but I will not be swayed.

Won't watch Supernatural either.

Or most series to be honest...

XoGizmooX 10-25-2018 07:32 PM

WEEPING ANGELS ........

Yeah not quite sure when, but it was the same guy who played Puddleglum in the older BBC Silver Chair Narnia movie.

tsukiko 10-25-2018 08:09 PM

awwwweee <3 puddleglum

and yay for someone else knowing the classic bbc miniseries

Death by Mirrors 10-25-2018 08:23 PM

I'm not going to start Supernatural. Don't have time for another endless series. But I wanted to know what's the deal with those weeping angels and that's how I ended up finally watching some Dr Who.

And I might have watched that BBC Narnia series as a child. At least I remember I once watched one that wasn't the huge modern reboot thing.

tsukiko 10-25-2018 08:28 PM

there's only the two. the old/bbc and the new

Death by Mirrors 10-25-2018 08:39 PM

Yeah, then I did. But I admit I probably wouldn't recognize any actors from there anymore if I saw them in a different movie or series.

tsukiko 10-25-2018 09:08 PM

understandable. but that particular actor does have a distinct facial structure

Serra Britt 10-25-2018 09:33 PM

It was actually his voice that tipped me off. I tend to more easily recognize actors by voice than looks.

tsukiko 10-25-2018 09:35 PM

lol...i suppose so ^__^

trystan830 10-25-2018 10:42 PM

i love love love Supernatural.

i've watched alllll of Doctor Who, from the First Doctor in 1963 to the most recent episode on Sunday of the Thirteenth Doctor. i love them all. (well, the Sixth Doctor (Colin Baker, the 80s) is my 3rd favorite.) XD

the Fourth Doctor - yep, scarf Doctor, from 1974-1981 - was my first and favorite doctor. =D

tsukiko 10-26-2018 03:42 AM

so in your guys' opinion, the older ones are worth watching?

Gallagher 10-26-2018 03:55 AM

i tried to watch from the beginning once, and it was super boring. there's definitely a bit of nostalgia factor to consider, but the show does get better as it goes on. my suggestion would be if one season isn't doing it for you, try a new doctor. just jump to the actor switch. it'll be fine.

tsukiko 10-26-2018 04:55 AM

hmmm..maybe I'll do that. but part of my ocd prolly won't let me skip around xD

Death by Mirrors 10-26-2018 05:14 AM

Think of every new actor time frame as a new series then. The main guy just always happens to be referred as Doctor the same way each main guy on a ship is referred to as Captain.

tsukiko 10-26-2018 06:40 AM

xD that's one way of looking at it

Serra Britt 10-26-2018 01:33 PM

The older ones seemed a bit dry but I enjoyed them all the same, the few I was able to watch. I remember reading that some of the older episodes have just been lost/destroyed and can't be recovered which is a real shame :(

tsukiko 10-26-2018 01:41 PM

that is an unfortunate side-effect of age. there are a lot of films/shows that weren't preserved well and will pretty much be lost to us.

I love Tom's Doctor too! I actually bought the official 4th Doctor Scarf from (I think it was) ThinkGeek. And I do love the Sixth. I actually really liked the Seventh, too. Sylvester McCoy was amazing!
