thats good =)

----

Ima feel bad for tearing apart the tv stand. its too heavy for us to move, and it won't fit in the house we're gonna move into anyway so i'm clearing it off and taking it apart to throw away. Kitty really likes sleeping in the top shelf or just on top of the thing OnO

-is a slow packer so she's starting now- >->

Tohopekaliga 11-19-2016 11:21 AM

I guess she'll need a new top shelf arrangement. :P

Demonskid 11-19-2016 12:02 PM

I'll be using the long coffee table and some crates as the tv stand after I take the current one down. its sad cause its a nice stand ._. just too heavy and meant for the tv's of the 90's >w> big huge box tvs my flat screen barely fits in it right

dragoness129 11-23-2016 02:19 AM

Awwww~! So super cute! ♥_♥

Demonskid 11-23-2016 08:48 AM

First she had fleas, then ear mites now we're finding wormies D:< get rid of 1 thing another pops up. creepy crawlies love her >->

MonBon 11-23-2016 11:30 PM

I generally just stay asleep in my upstairs bedroom when a tornado comes through. There's literally one every day and I'd lose too much sleep if I hid in the closet under the stairs every single time

Demonskid 11-23-2016 11:47 PM

not moving near you o-o, i'd freak out...

dragoness129 11-24-2016 02:05 AM

Yeah, lots of creepy crawlies with strays sadly.

Exotic Butters 12-16-2016 05:11 AM

Demonskid 07-06-2017 08:15 PM

UPDATE ON MAH KITTY!

Yes I still have her, No I haven't moved. =o= our plan to move went south.

BUT! I am able to keep her as my companion pet! Well as long as my counselor has fixed the papers.. (she faxed over the paperwork but the ink was too light)

Today she went to the vet and got neutered. I was stressed out all day, even though the Vet Tech said there are rarely any complications, I worried about her all day. I feel better now that she is home now, but earlier my paranoia was kicking in, thoughts of "what if she dies" and "What if they give her too much or too little of something and things go wrong" and "what if they hurt her"

The papers the vet gave me state she is 2 years old. When she followed me home, she was just a tiny thing. She could fit in my coat pockets.. Googling info about tiny 2 year old cats, apparently its not uncommon o-o,

The green tattoo they put on neutered pets is redic. its just a squiggle o3o I was expecting some sort of symbol. I was poking fun at her in the car on the way home saying "you rebel, getting a tat before i do" things like that.

She keeps wanting to jump up on to things so I have to keep her in the pet carrier for the rest of the night. =o= She still has no appetite and she refuses to drink water.

they shaved her tummy good >-> part of her chest area is shaved too.. her skin is so warm.. its weird feeling cat skin.. xD

She's considered a Domestic Medium Hair. And she got a clean bill of health! 8D When she followed me home, she was riddled with fleas, ear mites, and worms. Fleas were taking care of using dawn dish liquid as we bathed her. Ear Mite meds were bought at the store, and the worms were done in by my putting Pumpkin Seed Oil in the wet food. Apparently the oil kills off certain internal parasites. =)

Now to figure out what BREED she is.. I hate it when they put down "Domestic Short Hair" and such things as a breed =/ Is she an angora? a york chocolate? Ragamuffin?

MonBon 07-06-2017 08:33 PM

Cute :D

Demonskid 07-06-2017 08:42 PM

some new photos of her, I'll try to get newer ones tomorrow of her shaved tummy ovo

MonBon 07-06-2017 09:06 PM

Yessss

Boris 07-06-2017 10:59 PM

I think there's an unwritten law that if a cat follows you home or finds your house when you're in the middle of nowhere, you keep it.

Demonskid 07-07-2017 06:42 AM

if only landlords understood that unwritten law =o=

around here if you're told you cant keep an animal, your suppose to put it outside and forget it exists.. fk that >:o

I'm getting worried. She still wont eat or drink ono

Heres an older pic from back in november:

^ That is a 1 1/2 / 2 year old cat o3o so tiny

Boris 07-07-2017 11:29 AM

How cute! It's a shame that you an't just move. Poor cat.

MonBon 07-07-2017 12:01 PM

Did something happen right around the time she stopped eating or drinking?

Demonskid 07-07-2017 02:10 PM

Other than her getting fixed, nope.

she FINALLY ate around noon =o= i can stop worrying x-x

MonBon 07-07-2017 02:25 PM

Ohh.
Surgery messes with their appetite for a bit. I wouldn't worry about it unless it persists after a couple weeks

Demonskid 07-07-2017 02:40 PM

WEEKS?! -good thing she started eating today- x-x I would die of stress and anxiety if that lasted for weeks...

MonBon 07-07-2017 02:45 PM

It's usually not weeks, but I'm glad she started eating today :)
I remember my cat fell asleep inside the couch for three days

Demonskid 07-07-2017 03:50 PM

o-o inside the couch?!! I'd be freaking out

she slept by my side so peacefully last night =w= i'm gonna miss that.. when i keep her in my room she always keeps me awake demanded i pet her xD

Boris 07-07-2017 04:07 PM

That's so cute!

Coda 07-07-2017 04:44 PM

"Domestic" IS the breed. Your kitty doesn't HAVE any other breed, as your kitty isn't a purebred and doesn't comply with any of the accepted cat breed descriptions.

Boris 07-07-2017 04:51 PM

Domestic isn't a breed. A breed would be a bombay, Snowshoes, siamese, etc... any one of those breeds can either be feral or domesticated.

Demonskid 07-07-2017 05:20 PM

I love how when dogs are acquired, whether they are purebred or not people can just go "Oh she's a lab and German-shepard mix" but with cats you just get "Domestic this"

Yes my cat is domesticated.. that doesn't tell me what she is ;o;

Knowing the proper breed of the animal can let you expect what diseases they might get seeing as some things are more likely to effect certain breeds over the other breeds.

"X breed is more susceptible to respiratory problems because of genetics so do this to take extra care of them. Y Breed on the other hand has a larger chance at this disease due to their genetics, please use caution when doing this with them"

Knowing the animal's breed is important, and it shouldn't cost owners an arm and a leg to find out since it is important. =/

MonBon 07-07-2017 05:35 PM

I mean, domestic short hair is basically the equivalent of saying your cat is a mutt with too few defining characteristics to determine its breed.
Cats haven't been bred to have high contrast between breeds so they're all more similar when compared to doggos.

Demonskid 07-07-2017 06:33 PM

To get a cats breed determine you have to use one of those places that do Pet ancestry.

o3o i was looking at the papers the vet sent home with me, they have her birthday as June 30th 2015 O-O they can figure out the exact day the cat was born?

(still thinks she was born in 2016 not 15) >->,

Boris 07-07-2017 06:44 PM

It's more of an estimation, I think.

Nope. They can be feral or tame. Domestication is a genetic process that occurs through selective breeding, and a domesticated animal is genetically a different breed than a wild animal. A feral cat, however, is genetically identical to a tame cat, and the only difference is upbringing.

Similarly, wolves and dogs are different breeds of the same species, but wolves are wild while dogs are domesticated. If a wolf has puppies, and you take in one of those puppies and hand-raise it, it will still be a wolf and somewhere between 2 and 3 years of age it will stop acting like a dog and start acting like a wolf. But if a feral dog has puppies, and you take one of those puppies and hand-raise it, it will be a tame dog for the rest of its life.

I still say she is mostly Turkish Angora >->, She has the fur traits, the behavioral traits and she weighs 7.13lbs which is normal for an adult Turkish Angora Female >x<

Though Most cats stop growing after 1 year (unless they're from the bigger breeds like Ragdoll, Maincoon and so on) If she's 2 years old, then she shouldn't have grown like she did. She was pretty small when I got her, everyone around me would say she looked to be 6-7 months old.. And since females tend to start their first heat cycles at 4-5 months old, it's not surprising she went into heat in december if she really was 6-7 months old.

Ahh i want a second opinion on her age >o< Cause if she WAS 6-7 months old back in november, that would make her about 1 year 3-4 months old now... and would put her birthdate around April/May of 2016 not June of 2015.. and she did seem to stop growing around March/April of this year... which would make that the 1 year growth stop for average sized cats..

-head spins- i need more money.. i want a second opinion.. second opinions require monies ;-;

You're right that cats have less genetic diversity than dogs, which is why all breeds of cat are roughly the same size (as opposed to dogs where you have Pomeranians and German Shepherds).

However, saying that "domestic short hair" means the cat is a mutt isn't exactly accurate. The point I'm trying to make is that "domestic" breed cats ARE genealogically a single breed, even if they aren't a pedigreed pure breed. They don't have breed standards set by a central authority that decides "even if it's purebred, it doesn't count as that breed unless it has exactly this, this, and this" but they breed true -- two domestic cat parents will have domestic cat kittens, and mixing a domestic cat parent with, say, a Siamese cat parent will result in a kitten with a mix of the parents' traits. And no matter how you try to mix purebred non-domestic-cat parents, the offspring will never come out as a domestic cat; it will come out as a hybrid of the parents.

(The exceptions, of course, are the purebred cat breeds that were derived from the domestic cat. They're close enough that if you pair two such breeds together, the offspring might not really be distinguishable from other domestic cats, because at that point the second parent is putting in the genes that had been bred out from the first. But you're never going to get a moggie from breeding a Siamese with a Persian.)

That's not to say that domestic cats AREN'T often mutts. My cats most certainly have some Maine Coon ancestry. They're both larger than average, they both have the characteristic ruff (though it's harder to tell on the shorthair), they both have the characteristic facial markings, one of them has long fur... They're not purebred by any stretch, but it hasn't been enough generations for the Maine Coon influence to have faded completely.

You're probably right that she has some Turkish Angora ancestry, but you can't count her as that breed unless you have a pedigree and she fits ALL of the characteristics.

It could be that your kitty grew slower, especially if it spent a good chunk of its life malnourished from living as a stray. And it could be that December was her third or fourth heat cycle.

Ultimately it doesn't _really_ matter. It's not worth stressing over it.

So knowledgeable coda :O

Coda 07-07-2017 08:26 PM

Eh. Don't praise me too highly for that one. You'll get tons of people who will disagree with me on that. XD It's all a fuzzy mess of how you want to define "breed" -- cat fanciers are super strict about it.
